"Yuhi's Road" is the fifty-sixth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!! anime. It first aired in Japan on April 30, 2023.
Yuamu and her friends have formed a resistance movement against MIK. Meanwhile, Yuhi is still feeling conflicted about Rush Duels. Through pure coincidence, he encounters Ranran, who is on the run from MIK. He then has a confrontation with Tremolo, the one who is going after Ranran. What will Yuhi's decision be?
Summary
At Alien Middle School 8, Yuamu and Asaka press buttons to open a gate, revealing that the inside is an elevator. They, Manya, Yudias, and Bochi enter the president's office. Asaka reveals to her friends that only the president of this school is allowed to use it. She says they are free to discuss and plan so the MIK won't find them here. Yudias comments that the office is like a secret base. Asaka asks about Yuhi. Yudias tells her that Yuhi doesn't like company. Asaka tells the others that they are going to change the world.
Damamu searches for Yuhi, who is sitting on a stump learning that the loser gets turned into a card. Yuhi is frustrated that he can't stop thinking about dueling since he decided to stop forever. He thinks it's like one step away from connecting the dots and seeing something. He then hears the MIK and makes a run for it. Ranran throws the smoke bomb but it hits one of the MIK soldiers' nets. She fears that it would explode on her, but it was a dud. Yuhi finds Ranran and wonders what she is doing just as he kicks the bomb on one of the soldiers. He drags along with her.
Back at the president's office, Yuamu volunteers to change the world and Asaka pronounces her as Vice President, but Yuamu gives it a hard pass. Manya is free since she doesn't have any dramas to film anymore. Bochi asks Asaka what should they do first. Asaka reminds her friends that this operation will be top secret and tells them to try and gather info on the MIK without getting caught.
Outside, Yuhi and Ranran hide behind rocks. Ranran asks why is Yuhi helping her. Yuhi tells her that he just wanted to talk to her. He reveals that he felt so powerless ever since he and his friends left the Velgear Star Cluster. For the past few days, he felt like there's an even bigger shadow behind this whole MIK situation. Ranran wonders in thought if Yuhi was talking about Phaser. Yuhi feels so close to cracking the case. Ranran always thought that Yuhi was just a naive kid. The private moment is interrupted by Tremolo, who has found them along with the soldiers. Ranran whispers to Yuhi that Tremolo is Phaser's younger brother. Tremolo orders Ranran to hand the bomb over, so Ranran throws it at Tremolo's hand. Tremolo doesn't want to duel since Ranran forced his hand, but Yuhi volunteers to be his opponent. Tremolo tells him that if he wins, Yuhi will turn Ranran to him. Ranran reminds Yuhi that if he loses, he will be turned into a card. Yuhi accepts the challenge, but just as he prepares, he realizes that he threw is Deck away. Ranran is shocked, but just in time, Damamu has brought Yuhi's Deck as they arrive. They tell him that if he leaves his important stuff around, his sister will be angry. Tremolo can't stand duelists who mistreat their cards and he will never forgive Yuhi. Yuhi and Tremolo say their names as they insert their Decks into their Duel Disks and call "Go Rush!!", deploying a holographic dome.
At the Under-Underground Town, Yuamu hears this as Manya asks her what's wrong. Yuamu replies "nothing". Bochi tells an alien that he is in the middle of a top secret operation, but Manya quickly asks him to lower his voice.
Back outside, Yuhi, at his turn, summons two "Tamabots" with 200 ATK then sacrifices them to Tribute Summon "Jointech Arc Scorpio" with 2200 ATK. He sets some cards and ends his turn. Damamu relievingly says it has been so long since Yuhi dueled. Yuhi finishes them "about two years". Tremolo asks Yuhi if he wants to protect Ranran. Yuhi replies to him that he is dueling so that he can defeat him and then Phaser. Tremolo taunts him for going to defeat his brother. Yuhi reveals to him that he has seen Phaser's duel before, but also, Phaser has a secret he really can't tell anyone. He demands Tremolo to tell Phaser's secret, but Tremolo refuses and angrily tells him to not say his name. Tremolo then declares his turn and draws, his hand containing "Shinesteel Ultra Dragon Devastar Okeabyss [L]", "Shinesteel Ultra Dragon Devastar Okeabyss", and "Shinesteel Ultra Dragon Devastar Okeabyss [R]". He tells himself that those who don't respect his brother will die by his hands. He Maximum Summons "Shinesteel Ultra Dragon Devastar Okeabyss" with 3500 ATK in Maximum Mode. Yuhi is stunned by this. Tremolo sends the top three cards of his Deck to the Graveyard to activate Okeabyss' effect. The monster gains 500 ATK until the end of this turn, as a result "Okeabyss" ATK increases to 4000. Then, Tremolo can destroy one Level 8 or lower monster on the field. He destroys "Jointech Arc Scorpio". Ranran wonders if this is the end as she witnesses the 4000 ATK Maximum monster. Tremolo tells Yuhi that he spent two years neglecting his cards and they don't love him anymore. He sets two cards and orders "Shinesteel Ultra Dragon Devstar Okeabyss" to attack directly at Yuhi. Yuhi activates the trap "Rebirth Tech Burst". He negates Tremolo's attack and then he can Special Summon one EARTH Machin - tyoe from his Graveyard. This leaves Tremolo horrified. Yuhi Special Summons "Arc Scorpio", then tells Tremolo that he will lose 200 LP times the attacking monster's Level. He also reveals that "Okeabyss" is Level 10 and multiplies it to 200, which gives it a total of 2000 Damage. Tremolo gasps "2000" as his LP falls to 2000 and then ends his turn as Okeabyss' ATK decreases back to 3500. Damamu tells Ranran that Yuhi is building Decks with new cards even if he wasn't actually dueling. They then taunt Yuhi that he did as they saw it with their own eyes. Yuhi yells at them that he didn't. Damamu sees the smoke bombs and catches it to Yuhi. Yuhi tries to stop it from exploding and after a brief "hot potato"-style game, Yuhi catches it, causing it to glow brightly. Shortly after, he rubs his face because of the flashbang. Tremolo asks him to surrender since it's his turn. Yuhi replies "There's no way".
Yuhi declares his turn and draws, his hand containing "Jointech Ace", "Screw Armadillo", "Jointech Spike Centipede", "Jointech Dig Up", and "Jointech Rex". Yuhi's eyesight is blurry due to the bomb's flashbang. Tremolo thinks the duel is funny. Ranran takes off her jacket, revealing her ninja outfit. She tells Yuhi that she will now serve him (as in to help Yuhi summon monsters in the duel) and reveals that her family has been ninjas a long time ago. In times of peace, they keep themselves hidden, but in times of strife, they are taught to use the full extent of their abilities. Yuhi, eyes still closed, doesn't get what Ranran is saying but he leaves it to her. Tremolo nearly loses his patience, so Ranran as Yuhi's eyes summons "Jointech Ace" and "Screw Armadillo". She sacrifices the two of them to tribute summon "Jointech Spike Centipede" with 2400 ATK. She activates the trap "Abysskite Protection" and "Okeabyss" gains 1000 ATK until the end of this turn as Okeabyss' ATK goes up to 4500. Yuhi returns "Arc Scorpio" to his hand to use Spike Centipede's effect. He destroys one monster on Tremolo's field. "Jointech Spike Centipede" fires an orange beam at "Shinesteel Ultra Dragon Devastar Okeabyss". Tremolo tells Yuhi and Ranran that thanks to Abysskite Protection's effect, "Devastar Okeabyss" can't be destroyed by effects. Yuhi sends a monster from his hand to the Graveyard to activate the spell, "Jointech Dig Up". He activates the top three cards of his Deck and adds one of them to his hand. The rest are placed on top of his deck in any order. Ranran shouts out the cards in order: first is "Jointech Rushhorn", second is "Stud Hedgepeg", but she gasps upon seeing the third one. Yuhi concludes there it is and adds "Power Bond" to his hand, to Tremolo's surprise. He fuses with the "Spike Centipede" on field and "Arc Scorpio" in hand. He fusion summons "Jointech Killer Stinger" with 3000 ATK as he chants "A joined fusion! And joined darkness! Doom them to ruin! Jointech Killer Stinger!" Ranran and Yuhi double up the monster's ATK to 6000. Damamu also wants a power bond. Ranran tells Yuhi that at the end of the turn, he will take the amount that monster gained in ATK as damage. Yuhi tells her that it will all end in one turn. He sends "Stud Hedgepeg" from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard to activate Killer Stinger's effect. "Okeabyss" loses 700 ATK, remaining 3800. Yuhi gains the same amount in LP, 4700. Damamu exclaims that Yuhi is super strong. "Jointech Killer Stinger" attacks "Okeabyss", using "Gigantic Extermination". Tremolo activates the trap "Abysskite Prevent Wall" so "Okeabyss" can't be destroyed by battle. If the monster attacked was a monster in Maximum Mode, he gains 1000 LP. Tremolo then gains 3000 LP as of that. He is struck by a bolt of blue lightning, causing his LP to reduce to 800. Yuhi ends his turn and is also struck by lightning. He shouts "3000" as his LP falls to 1700. This was the 3000 damage from Power Bond's effect. Tremolo bets that Yuhi can't properly even handle a card like "Power Bond" since he wants to defeat his brother. Yuhi taunts him that his monster is stronger than his. Tremolo scolds him for comparing his monsters.
Tremolo then declares his turn and draws as he sends the top three cards of his Deck to the Graveyard (two Effect Monsters and "Darkglow Angler") to use Okeabyss' effect. It gains 500 ATK until the end of this turn. As a result, "Okeabyss" gains 4000 ATK. Ranran declares that effect also lets it destroy one Level 8 or lower monster. Which means Yuhi's "Killer Stinger" is Level 9, so they're safe. Yuhi activates the trap "Power Return" and he chooses one monster in his Graveyard and gains 200 LP times its Level, the "Spike Centipede". Ranran multiplies 7 times 200, which means Yuhi's LP is now 3100. Then Yuhi can return "Power Bond" and "Spike Centipede" to the top of his deck. Ranran suspects that Yuhi is trying to summon "Spike Centipede" again so he can destroy "Okeabyss" by using its effect. Tremolo pays 500 LP to use Okeabyss' other effect. He returns "Abysskite Protection" from his Graveyard to his hand. As he is struck by Power Bond's effect, leaving him 300 LP, he sets "Abysskite Protection" again. Next, he activates the Spell "Heavenly Gift" and can send as many monsters from his hand to the Graveyard as he wants. If the levels of the cards he sent equal 10 or higher, he can draw two. He sends "Ascending Weather Eel", "Darkglow Angler", "Legacyrex Legarex" and "Manifestriction Dragon Maxseal": A total of 18 Levels, so he draws two. His grave now has 10 more Sea Serpent monsters. He sends "Groundmaster Bathynomus" from his hand to the Graveyard to use Okeabyss' third effect. Until the end of this turn, it gains Killer Stinger's ATK for itself. Yuhi and Ranran are shocked at this. Tremolo thanks Yuhi for that permanent ATK gain. Okeabyss' ATK increases to 10,000, much to Ranran's surprise. Yuhi tries to thinkn of something, but Ranran orders him to run because he can't be defeated here. Ranran shows him the card and encourages to escape, but Yuhi fully regains his sight and tells Ranran that he's tired of running after two years. He pushes the card back to Ranran and tells her that he will go on his own road. "Shinesteel Ultra Dragon Devastar Okeabyss" then attacks "Jointech Killer Stinger", and Tremolo exclaims "Trinity Vibration!" as his monster fires three yellow beams at Yuhi's monster. Yuhi screams "4000" as his LP reduces to zero.
The blue crystal appears once again and it transforms Yuhi into a card. Ranran cries over him and Tremolo asks her to recover the card. As the MIK soldiers are about to capture her, Damamu grabs her inside a pink bubble and they both float away. Tremolo remarks that his brother is going to be angry at him.
Back at the school, Asaka and her friends commence "Operation: Take Back the Surface".
Featured Duel: Yuhi Ohdo vs Tremolo Ryugu
The Duel is conducted as a Rush Duel.
Turn 1: Yuhi
Yuhi Normal Summons two copies of "Tamabot" (200/0). Yuhi Tributes both copies of "Tamabot" to Tribute Summon "Jointech Arc Scorpio" (2200/1600). Yuhi Sets two cards in his Spell & Trap Zones.
Turn 2: Tremolo
Tremolo draws "Shinesteel Ultra Dragon Devastar Okeabyss". Tremolo Maximum Summons "Shinesteel Ultra Dragon Devastar Okeabyss [L]" (2200/0), "Devastar Okeabyss" (2500/0) and "Shinesteel Ultra Dragon Devastar Okeabyss [R]" (2400/0) in Maximum Mode (3500). Tremolo activates the effect of "Devastar Okeabyss [R]", sending the top three cards of his Deck to the Graveyard to increase its ATK by 500 until the end of this turn, then if it is in Maximum Mode, he can destroy a face-up Level 8 or lower monster on Yuhi's field. Tremolo sends three unknown monsters from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard ("Devastar Okeabyss": 3500 → 4000), then destroys "Arc Scorpio". Tremolo Sets two cards in his Spell & Trap Zones. "Devastar Okeabyss" attacks Yuhi directly. As Tremolo's monster declared a direct attack, Yuhi activates his face-down Trap Card "Rebirth Tech Burst" to negate the attack and Special Summon an EARTH Attribute Machine Type monster from his Graveyard face-up to his field, and if he Special Summoned a Level 7 monster this way, Tremolo takes damage equal to the Level of the attacking monster x 500. Yuhi Special Summons "Arc Scorpio" (2200/1600) from his Graveyard in Attack Position (Tremolo: 4000 → 2000 LP). As Tremolo ends his turn, the ATK of "Devastar Okeabyss" returns to normal ("Devastar Okeabyss": 4000 → 3500).
Turn 3: Yuhi
Yuhi draws "Jointech Ace", "Screw Armadillo", "Jointech Spike Centipede", "Jointech Dig Up" and "Jointech Rex". Yuhi Normal Summons "Ace" (1500/0) and "Screw Armadillo" (0/1000). Yuhi Tributes "Ace" and "Screw Armadillo" to Tribute Summon "Spike Centipede" (2400/1600). As Yuhi Normal or Special Summoned a Level 5 or higher monster face-up, Tremolo activates his face-down Trap Card "Abysskite Protection" to increase the ATK of a face-up Sea Serpent Type monster on his field by 1000 until the end of this turn, then if that monster is a Maximum Monster, it cannot be destroyed by Yuhi's card effects this turn. Tremolo chooses "Devastar Okeabyss" ("Devastar Okeabyss": 3500 → 4500). Yuhi activates the effect of "Spike Centipede", returning another face-up Level 5 or higher EARTH Attribute Machine Type monster from his field to the owner's hand to destroy a monster on Tremolo's field, but he cannot activate the monster effects of non-Machine Type monsters this turn. Yuhi returns "Arc Scorpio" from his field to his hand and tries to destroy "Devastar Okeabyss", but due to the effect of "Abysskite Protection", it isn't destroyed. Yuhi activates the Spell Card "Jointech Dig Up", sending an EARTH Attribute Machine Type monster from his hand to the Graveyard to excavate the top three cards of his Deck and add an excavated card to his hand, then place the remaining cards on the top of his Deck in any order. Yuhi sends "Rex" from his hand to the Graveyard and excavates "Jointech Rushhorn", "Stud Hedgepeg" and "Power Bond", adds "Power Bond" to his hand, then places "Stud Hedgepeg" and "Jointech Rushhorn" on the top of his Deck. Yuhi activates the Spell Card "Power Bond" to Fusion Summon a Machine Type monster by sending monsters from his hand and/or field to the Graveyard as material, then increase that monster's ATK by its original ATK, but he takes damage equal to the amount of ATK gained this way during the End Phase of this turn. Yuhi sends "Spike Centipede" from his field and "Ark Scorpio" from his hand to the Graveyard and Fusion Summons "Jointech Killer Stinger" (3000/2500 → 6000/2500) in Attack Position. Yuhi activates the effect of "Killer Stinger", sending the top card of his Deck to the Graveyard to decrease the ATK of all face-up monsters on Tremolo's field by the number of monsters on his field x 700 until the end of this turn, then he gains LP equal to the number of monsters on Tremolo's field x 700. Yuhi sends "Stud Hedgepeg" from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard ("Devastar Okeabyss": 4500 → 3800; Yuhi: 4000 → 4700 LP). "Killer Stinger" attacks "Devastar Okeabyss". As Yuhi's monster declared an attack targeting Tremolo's face-up Sea Serpent Type monster, Tremolo activates his face-down Trap Card "Abysskite Prevent Wall" to prevent the attack target from being destroyed by that battle, then if it is in Maximum Mode, he gains 1000 LP (Tremolo: 2000 → 3000 LP). The attack continues (Tremolo: 3000 → 800 LP). As Yuhi ends his turn, the effect of "Power Bond" inflicts damage to him equal to the amount of ATK "Killer Stinger" gained with it and the ATK of "Devastar Okeabyss" returns to normal (Yuhi: 4700 → 1700 LP; "Devastar Okeabyss": 3800 → 3500).
Turn 4: Tremolo
Tremolo activates the effect of "Devastar Okeabyss [R]". Tremolo sends two unknown monsters and "Darkglow Angler" from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard ("Devastar Okeabyss": 3500 → 4000). As a card was sent from Tremolo's Deck to the Graveyard, Yuhi activates his face-down Trap Card "Power Return" to gain LP equal to the Level of an EARTH Attribute Machine Type monster in his Graveyard x 200, then place it on either the top or bottom of his Deck, then he can place a "Power Bond" from his Graveyard on either the top or bottom of his Deck. Yuhi chooses "Spike Centipede" in his Graveyard (Yuhi: 1700 → 3100 LP), then places it on the top of his Deck, then places "Power Bond" from his Graveyard on the top of his Deck. Tremolo activates the effect of "Devastar Okeabyss [L]", paying 500 LP to add an "Abysskite Protection" or an "Abysskite Prevent Wall" from his Graveyard to his hand, then if it is in Maximum Mode, he can add an "Abysskite Ultimail" from his Graveyard to his hand. Tremolo pays 500 LP (Tremolo: 800 → 300 LP) and adds "Abysskite Protection" from his Graveyard to his hand. Tremolo Sets "Abysskite Protection" in his Spell & Trap Zone. Tremolo activates the Spell Card "Heavenly Gift" to send any number of monsters from his hand to the Graveyard, and if the total Levels of the monsters sent to the Graveyard this way is 10 or higher, he can draw two cards. Tremolo sends "Ascending Weather Eel", "Darkglow Angler", "Legacyrex Legarex" and "Manifestriction Dragon Maxseal" from his hand to the Graveyard and draws "Groundmaster Bathynomus" and an unknown card. As "Devastar Okeabyss" is in Maximum Mode and Tremolo has ten or more Sea Serpent Type monsters in his Graveyard, he activates its effect, sending a card from his hand to the Graveyard to increase its ATK by the ATK of a face-up monster on Yuhi's field until the end of this turn. Tremolo sends "Groundmaster Bathynomus" from his hand to the Graveyard and chooses "Killer Stinger" ("Devastar Okeabyss": 4000 → 10000). "Devastar Okeabyss" attacks and destroys "Killer Stinger" (Yuhi: 3100 → 0 LP).
