Having tunneled through the soil, Petit Moth stuck part of its head above the surface. Tristan Taylor mistook it for a melon and after failing to move it, drew his face on it to mark it as belonging to him. Petit Moth then retracted into its tunnel, going back to an underground chamber. Tristan and his friends followed it and discovered that it was not a melon. Assuming it was not going to act friendly towards them, Tristan summoned Thunder Kid to battle Petit Moth. However they were separated as walls suddenly emerged from the ground forming a maze.[1]
Petit Moth managed to consume a golden apple, causing it to become encased in a cocoon. Shortly after its adversaries emerged from the maze, it emerged from the cocoon as Great Moth. Great Moth attacked Téa Gardner, Joey Wheeler and Yugi Muto, who fought back with Red-Eyes B. Dragon, Seiyaryu and Dark Magician, which fused with Yami Yugi. The three of them attacked Great Moth, who then evolved into Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth. Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth deflected attacks from Red-Eyes B. Dragon and Seiyaryu, bouncing the attacks back at them. Yami Yugi ate one of the other golden apples, causing Dark Magician to evolve into Magician of Black Chaos. Perfectly Ultimate and Magician of Black Chaos battled until Yami fused with Magician of Black Chaos, making him strong enough to attack and destroy Perfectly Ultimate.[1]
