Varis (Duel Links)

Varis is a Legendary Duelist in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links who appears in Duel World (VRAINS). This is a video game depiction of Roken Kogami/"Varis", a character from the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS anime.

He first appeared as a roaming Duelist on January 26, 2023, during his event Destiny at Hand: Varis!, and became unlockable on January 28, 2023.

Description

Varis - also known as Roken Kogami - is the leader of the Knights of Hanoi and will stop at nothing to annihilate the Ignis. His father is Professor Kogami - the man who caused the Lost Incident by creating the Ignis. Varis believes AIs have evolved beyond their programming to become a threat to mankind, putting him at odds with Playmaker and Ai. Varis uses different types of monsters - such as Topologics, Borrels and Rokkets - to adapt to the situation of the Duel.

• Varis's cut-in artwork is based on his pose when Synchro Summoning "Borreload Savage Dragon" for the first time in Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS episode 07070: "A Storm Brews", during Varis's Duel with Windy.

• Sometimes when attacking with "Borreload Savage Dragon", his sprite will activate a darkened "Anti-glare" shield, similar to what he uses in the anime.
