Video game debutYu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation
Muto, Solomon

Solomon Muto is a Duelist Construct of Solomon Muto from the Yu-Gi-Oh! series in the Virtual Dueling System. He is also the opponent that the player faced in Stage 1-2 of the Classic Campaign mode in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation. The player has to defeat him in a Duel in order to unlock the next stage and progress Campaign mode.

Appearance

As a Duelist Construct, his appearance is based on Solomon Muto, and the outfit comes from what Solomon usually wears which is a greenish overall covering his button up collar gray shirt for his body and a black bandanna with two hourglass-like symbol for his head in the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series.

Etymology

His English name "Solomon" means "peace", reflecting his friendly and kind-heartened personality. His German name "Salomon" is another written form of "Solomon". "Grand-pere" in French, "Nonno" in Italian, and "Abuelo" in Spanish means "grandfather", reflecting his role as Yugi's grandfather. Though the correct spelling in French is "Grand-père" and not "Grand-pere" like how the game written it as such.

Rewards

There are a total of six rewards that the player can earn and received after defeating the Duel Construct in a Duel. The first two rewards are cards that come from the Duel Construct's Deck and the third reward is a recipe for their Deck. Then the fourth, fifth and sixth rewards repeated the same process of the three earlier rewards, but in a harder difficulty with a different Deck. In addition, the sixth reward will allow the player to have the Duel Construct's avatar and the ability to Duel them anytime between the two difficulty.

Deck

In the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series of the first episode, Solomon lends his grandson Yugi Muto a Deck with monsters that mostly have the Type Warrior and Dragon. Within his Deck, there are the "Forbidden One" cards and once they are assembled in the hand, the Duel is automatically win in his flavor.

In Duel Generation, the Duelist Construct plays a Deck called Warrior Dragon which resemble Solomon's Deck full of Warrior and Dragon monsters. This Deck also features the "Forbidden One" cards which can allow Solomon to win the Duel without depleting any of the player's Life Points at any given moment. There are some defensive cards that Solomon can used to prolong the Duel in order to win by the effect of "Exodia".

After the player defeat Solomon's Warrior Dragon Deck three times, the next difficulty and Deck is unlocked. The cards in the "Forbidden One" archetype is a concept that Solomon tried to use in the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series.

The Forbidden One Deck have the style of winning the Duel in any moment. This Deck focuses on a defensive and drawing approach in order for Solomon to assemble the "Forbidden One" cards in his hand. The defensive cards like "Battle Fader", Swift Scarecrow", "Threatening Roar", and "Waboku" can prevented the player from attacking and allow Solomon to receive no battle damage. The drawing aspect of his cards can allow him to draw up to three cards from his Deck. With each cards drawn, the player is closer to losing the Duel by a automatic victory.
