Card Rulings:Cocoon of Evolution
OCG Rulings
- The effect "You can target 1 "Petit Moth" you control; equip this card from your hand to that target" is an Ignition Effect that activates in the hand. (The effect targets 1 face-up "Petit Moth" in your Monster Zone.)[1]
- The effect "While equipped by this effect, the original ATK/DEF of that "Petit Moth" becomes the ATK/DEF of "Cocoon of Evolution"" does not start a Chain Link. (The effect is applied to the equipped monster. It is treated as a Spell effect.)[1]
- This effect causes the original ATK/DEF of the equipped "Petit Moth" to be treated as 0/2000.[1]
- You can Special Summon "Cocoon of Evolution" with other effects, such as "Last Will".[2]
- You can Special Summon "Larvae Moth"/"Great Moth"/"Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth" while "Cocoon of Evolution" is being negated, such as by "Armored Glass".[3]
- When "Petit Moth" is destroyed, "Cocoon of Evolution" is also destroyed.[4]
- You can Special Summon "Cocoon of Evolution" from the Graveyard. If you Special Summon "Cocoon of Evolution" from the Graveyard, you cannot use its effect to equip it from the field to "Petit Moth".[4]

- If "Cocoon of Evolution" is Summoned or Set it is treated as a monster, if played as an Equip Spell Card it is treated as an Equip Spell Card as long as it remains on the field and could be destroyed with "Mystical Space Typhoon". Once on the field it cannot be switched from monster to Spell Card or vice versa. "Cocoon of Evolution" is NOT a Union Monster.
