Surtr, named after Surtr from Norse mythology, is the antagonist in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Duel Transer.
Surtr is the host of the Tournament in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Duel Transer. He invites the greatest duelists in the world to come to his island Yggdrasil, and participate in order to become the King of Duel Monsters. He doesn't tell his guests anything about himself and is quite mysterious about the purpose of the tournament.
After the long tournament is finally over, with his defeat in the final duel, Surtr is about to explain how he was able to recreate the Earthbound Immortals. Before he does, however, Odin arrives and sends everyone to Bifrost, an underground tunnel in Yggdrasil.
