I think that the lore in the article is wrong because Yusei succesfully destroyed his face down. After that it got negated by Solemn Judgment. So the lore shold be: Activate it by destroying 1 Spell or Trap Card you control. Destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card your opponent controls.
