Sorting

I changed the Chinese set prefix to be displaying before the Korean one, since "Chinese" comes before "Korean" in alphabetical order and on the set pages, the majority seems to have the Japanese galleries, then the Chinese ones and then the Korean ones. So I decided to sort them this way.
I don't know if there was a criteria (at least an explicit one) to sort this kind of stuff, but if I may suggest, basically I'd say:

• English ones first -> the most relevant in TCG
  • Worldwide English (EN) -> the most relevant;
  • North American English (NA) -> more relevant than the European English one, since more stuff seems to happen at North America;
  • European English (EU) -> less relevant than the previous;
  • Australian English (OC) -> even less relevant;
• French;
  • European French (FR);
  • Canadian French (FC);
• German (DE);
• Italian (IT);
• Portuguese (PT);
• Spanish (SP);

Now the OCG ones:

• Japanese first -> the most relevant in OCG;
  • Japanese (JP);
  • Asian-Japanese (JA);
• Asian-English (AE);
• Chinese (TC);
• Korean (KR).

This was for regions. So I would ask if the release dates could be sorted in another way. Not necessarily like this, but I think it would be better to have all the stuff sorted in the same way. I'm suggesting this because I was looking for a prefix and I didn't find it where I was expecting it to be, due to the fact things are not sorted all in the same way. The majority of the set galleries and the set lists seem to be sorted like this.
For languages, I may suggest TCG first (since this is an English Yu-Gi-Oh! Wikia and deals with everything in English (TCG), including dub names, etc.) and then OCG. Basically English first and then alphabetical order and then Japanese first and then alphabetical order. This reminds me {{CardTable2}} also follows a different sorting, but that's another matter. Once you get beyond this being an English wiki documenting a primarily Japanese franchise, and therefore 1) TCG is more important to the average reader than OCG, 2) English is more important to the average reader than French, German, Italian, Portuguese, or Spanish, and 3) Japanese is more important to the average reader than Korean, Chinese, or Asian-English, any concept of relevancy isn't really terribly important (though it is worth breaking down English and Japanese to treat Worldwide English as most important, followed by North American English, and treating Japanese as more important than Japanese-Asian). Therefore, an alphabetical sorting, after taking the above into account, probably does make the most sense, though I have to be perfectly honest and say that I find the ordering of Chinese before Korean incredibly weird - I'm rather used to seeing it the other way, so that would probably take some getting used to. =) 「ディノ奴千？！」^{? · ☎ Dinoguy1000} 12:13, June 24, 2016 (UTC)

Well, it doesn't have to be exactly like I suggested. Korean may come before Chinese, no problem. Some pages had it that way, but other (the majority, I think (not 100% sure, though)) had it Chinese and then Korean, which follows the alphabetical order by region name. And I think it would be the most intuitive.

But it's not up to me, hence why I'm putting it up for discussion. My only request is a congruent sorting between everything. Having some stuff sorted in a way and in other places sorted differently is just confusing and, if we want to be more technical, it violates one of Nielsen's heuristics (yeah, I like to be organized, heh). Yes, sorting of region data hasn't ever been systematically established and then followed through on, hence the discrepancies now. Making sort order consistent everywhere has been on my to-do list, but pretty low priority, hence why I haven't done much with it to date. And if you think this situation is bad, you don't want to look at the situation with the order of video games (IIRC, CardTable2 isn't even consistent with itself on how it sorts them)! =D 「ディノ奴千？！」^{? · ☎ Dinoguy1000} 14:00, June 24, 2016 (UTC)
