A Transformation Summon is the act of Special Summoning a Transformed Monster? from the Extra Deck. This is done through the effects of certain cards, including "Form Change" and "Mask Change".
To date, Transformation Summons exist only in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX manga and exclusively within the "Masked Hero" archetype. In the manga Chazz explained that transformation summoning is like Fusion Summoning, but with only a single component.
