"Abyss-" (アビス Abisu) is an archetype of cards that support "Mermail" monsters or "Umi".

While monsters that are part of the archetype have existed in the TCG and OCG since Spell of Mask and Labyrinth of Nightmare, no support or cards that meet the requirements of support were introduced until Abyss Rising.

Due to their Japanese names, a number of monsters (mostly WATER monsters), such as "Abyss Soldier" and "Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss" also fall into this archetype. However, because TCG and OCG support for this archetype only works on Spell and Trap Cards that are not on the field, this is not an issue.

Level is a grade used in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Super Complete Book to indicate the relative ATK and DEF strength of various monsters featured in the Toei anime series and film. Each monster has two grades, one for its ATK and one for its DEF, using the letters S to F, where S indicates monsters with the highest ATK or DEF, down through F, which indicates monsters with the lowest. In total, the book contains grades for 57 monsters, including ones apparently not featured in the anime series or film.

However the ATK and DEF used in the TV series do not always correspond to their respective Levels used in the book.
