- Combo this card with cards that Special Summon themselves with their own effects (i.e. "Vice Dragon", "Cyber Dragon", "Oracle of the Sun", "Apprentice Illusion Magician", "Kaiser Vorse Raider", "Hieratic Dragon of Tefnuit", "The Tricky"), and you can still Normal Summon.
- If you have "Apprentice Illusion Magician", this card, and 1 other card in your hand, you can easily bring out "Dark Magician".
- This above combo can be used in a Hieratic-variant Red-Eyes deck to quickly perform any Rank 7 Xyz Summon by Special Summoning "Hieratic Dragon of Tefnuit" via her own effect, then activating this card to tribute "Tefnuit" and Special Summon "Red-Eyes Black Dragon" or "Red-Eyes Black Flare Dragon" from your hand.
