Goal

The goal of this subpage is to list all my decks, while giving advice about deck construction and more. The decks are listed in descending age order, meaning the oldest is first and the newest is last, giving the reader the ability to see how my deckbuilding style evolved along with the quality of my collection.

Basics

Well, you are all familiar with the concept of the Deck, right? Right? RIGHT? Oh well, then I'll have to write a thing or two.

With these in mind, all that remains is making your own deck. Although I could include a deck constructing strategy, I'm too lazy to do so now.

Later I probably will include strategies to consider while making your deck. Alternatively, you can go here, where I learned tons of stuff. T-up to Dmaster!

Deck Lists

All decks in this page use the September 2010 Lists, excluding dismantled decks, which use the list that was active when they were dismantled.
Decks listed as active or Main/Secondary/Tertiary/Quartenary are subject to constant changes.
The Extra Deck section got too tedious to modify every time a new card was released or every time I got a new one, so I've created a seperate list with all Synchro/Fusion Monsters I use in my decks.

Synchro/Fusion Monsters

Crystal Fist

This is an Abundance OTK deck, in my opinion the best kind of Crystal Beast Deck around:

  • Status: Active.
  • Statistics:
    • Monster Card to Spell and Trap Card ratio: ~1:1
    • Win/loss ratio: 2:1
  • Comments:

An overall good deck, without many weaknesses. What it lacks in beatsticks it makes up for with awesome effects and a Rainbow Dragon with OTK potential. Fun to play with, but difficult to master. Beware of the occasional Harpie or Macro Cosmos Decks, as they are able to to bring this kind of deck to a disadvantage. Tends to produce many dead draws, a fact to beware of. Side decking has so far proven useless.

Smoking Gun

This is a burn deck, revolving around cards that deal massive damage without attacking:

  • Status: Dismantled.
  • Statistics:
    • Monster Card to Spell and Trap Card ratio: ~1:2
    • Win/loss ratio: 3:1
  • Comments:

Very good deck, capable of defeating most nowadays decks (I said most, not all...). A quick deck, capable of dealing an average of 2000 damage per turn. Has considerable drawing power thanks to Reckless Greed, Morphing Jar and Des Lacooda, and it rarely produces dead draws, in the form of monster hands (a hand full of monsters only). Has no notable weaknesses, as it manages to overpower even Prime Material Dragon. Beware, though, since it is weak against trap negating cards, such as Jinzo and Royal Decree. Side decking essential.

Home Run

Here is another deck, a Fire deck revolving around Ultimate Baseball Kid:

  • Status: Dismantled.
  • Statistics:
    • Monster Card to Spell and Trap Card ratio: 1:1
    • Win/loss ratio: 5:2
  • Comments:

A deck I made for fun, and because I think Ultimate Baseball Kid is a cool card that is being underestimated. This deck, albeit weird, can take on head-to-head any nowadays deck (perhaps except Crystal Beasts). Capable of summoning monsters with up to 9500 ATK, while taking advantage of the presence of your opponent's monsters with DNA Transplant, this deck is a fearsome one. The support of every other Fire monster is valued too, with Solar Flare Dragons and others wreaking havoc.

Occasionally, it is useful. Used according to the difficulty of the competition, and the participants' decks.

8-Star Hotel

This is my favorite WC08 deck, built out of real cards! Of course, not all these cards are in the game, but...

  • Status: Dismantled.
  • Statistics:
    • Monster Card to Spell and Trap Card ratio: 1:2
    • Win/loss ratio: 1:1
  • Comments:

A deck focusing on discarding level 8 normal monsters to draw cards, destroy opponent's cards or simply to revive them from the graveyard with multiple revival cards. Milling through the deck is easy, facilitated by multiple draw engines. Only weaknesses of this deck are Stall decks, possibly Macro Cosmos decks and its own dead draws and occasional useless opening draws.

Flash Fire

Another recent build, the fastest burn deck I could construct, based on the Rule of 3:

  • Status: Active.
  • Statistics:
    • Monster Card to Spell and Trap Card ratio: 1:3
    • Win/loss ratio: 5:1
  • Comments:

An extremely aggressive (and risky) burn deck, focusing heavily on the Rule of 3 (which states that if you deal an average of 1000 damage per card, you should have won by your third turn - i.e. after you have drawn 8 cards). The deck focuses on making enemy attacks (mostly direct ones) backfire, via Dimension Wall, Zoma the Spirit, Magic Cylinder, Marshmallon and Giant Germ. Then, it uses the heavy field presence and hand advantage that all current decks posess to deal enormous damage, while stacking a nice long Chain, in the end of which a Chain Strike depletes the opponent's Life Points. The deck is notably weak against Jinzo and Royal Decree, which is why 3x Double Snare is Sided in. Other than that, it can dominate pretty much anything you throw at it.

Purging Light

Despite the recent nerf to LS, I'm still running them... because I love them! Love your deck, and it'll love you back, and you'll draw GODLIKE hands. I know I do :-).

  • Status: Dismantled, March 2010.
  • Statistics:
    • Monster Card to Spell and Trap Card ratio: ~1:1
    • Win/loss ratio: 8:1.
  • Comments:

No need for me to tell you what a Lightsworn deck is. Nerfed, that is. Despite that, I've changed it to use the current list, but I'm not 100% satisfied with the current outline (why Lumina, of all cards??).

Appliance Bonanza

What can I say? I like OTKing people with mobile phones and radios.

  • Status: Active.
  • Statistics:
    • Monster Card to Spell and Trap Card ratio: ~1:1
    • Win/loss ratio: 7:1.
  • Comments:

This is my newer version of the Morphtronic Deck. It mainly uses Equip Spell Cards and Morphtronic Remoten's effect to maintain field and hand advantage. Machine Duplication is also great, having 3 different monsters to use with it. Highly efficient in swarming and drawing, this is one of my most potent decks.

Zombie Assault

Zombies + Stardust/Assault = Zombie Assault. Duh.

  • Status: Dismantled.
  • Statistics:
    • Monster Card to Spell and Trap Card ratio: 1:1
    • Win/loss ratio: 5:1.
  • Comments:

This is my version of the Stardust/Assault deck. Really reliable and surprisingly consistent, this deck always drops Stardust/Assault by the 3rd turn at the most, with many instances of dropping one during the opponent's first or second turn. Devastating against Lightsworns and DARK decks, this deck is a must for players with a low budget that need a fighting chance.

  • Side Deck: Stating only a few of the 15 cards:

Dark Skies

My version of a Blackwing deck. They will blot out the sky. So we'll have shade.

  • Status: Tertiary Deck.
  • Statistics:
    • Monster Card to Spell and Trap Card ratio: ~1:1
    • Win/loss ratio: 6:1.
  • Comments:

This is my current version of the Blackwing Deck. Cards for Black Feathers, Pot of Duality and Allure help get the deck going faster than usual, with OTK plays being more common than before. Reborn and Dark Hole are awesome.

  • Side Deck: Stating only a few of the 15 cards:

Junkyard War(rior)s

A competitive Yusei deck, with some non-Yusei cards (necessary to make it competitive, after all).

  • Status: Dismantled.
  • Statistics:
    • Monster Card to Spell and Trap Card ratio: ~1:1
    • Win/loss ratio: 6:1.
  • Comments:

This is my version of a Yusei Deck, constructed after E-Dizzle's Advanced Junk/Yusei Deck. I have changed it somewhat, and added some personal touches. The main theme is to dump a Tuningware, revive it with Junk Synchron, Duplicate it, Synchro out for something, then draw 3. De-Synchro and Special Summon the materials, then Synchro again and draw 3 more. This way you can abuse some Synchro Monsters such as Arcanite, by re-setting their effects. You can also Synchro Summon the monster you need most at a given time, then De-Synchro it when you need something else. A good deck, but a bit inconsistent.

Tyranny's End

A DARK Anti-Meta deck, with a twist.

  • Status: Dismantled.
  • Statistics:
    • Monster Card to Spell and Trap Card ratio: ~1:1
    • Win/loss ratio: 6:1.
  • Comments:

Yes, an Anti-Meta deck. DARK, to use the Allure engine. Then, I use 3 Tomatoes and 3 Apprentices, to explot the Oppression Damage Step Loophole. I also use 2 Creature Swaps to annoy my opponent by stealing his best monsters while giving him a Tomato or an Apprentice. The deck runs lots of removal and defense, as shown by 3 Fissure, 2 Smashing, 3 Caius, 3 Book of Moon and 1 Mirror Force. Last, I use Mask of Darkness and Counter Traps (Bribe, Solemn) to keep Oppression on the field.

Mechanized2

Machina + Gadgets = Mechanized2. Recent deck, easy to build, fun to play, good enough to win.

  • Status: Dismantled, March 2010.
  • Statistics:
    • Monster Card to Spell and Trap Card ratio: 1:1
    • Win/loss ratio: 10:1.
  • Comments:

Machina Gadgets are the new newbie-friendly deck. That doesn't mean that advanced players should look down upon them! They are really effective. The deck has awesome search power through 6 Gadgets, 3 Gearframes and 2 Peacekeepers, excellent removal through Smashing, Fissure and Prison, and a solid 2500 ATK beatstick with very good effects. Popular belief is that Machina Gadgets can't be competitive without Future Fusion/Jinzo/Jinzo - Returner, but I beg to differ, and I have proven my point in a duel with such a Machina deck. I went 2-1, pummeling it to the ground.

Obscured Brilliance

Since Lightsworns were nerfed, I decided to breathe new life into them by converting them into Twilight! And here are the results:

  • Status: Dismantled, March 2010.
  • Statistics:
    • Monster Card to Spell and Trap Card ratio: ~1:1
    • Win/loss ratio: 20:1.
  • Comments:

While Lightsworns were heavily nerfed, it was still possible to enhance them again with a Twilight build. Here, you see a not-so-conventional build, featuring Battle Fader, Dasher, Crow and Doomcaliber Knight! Despite appearing inconsistent and less powerful than pure LS, it is actually a bit better! Try it out, it's a good build.

Eternal Hell

Eternal = Endless = Infinite = Infinity. Hell = Inferno. Infinity + Inferno = Infernity!!

  • Status: Dismantled, March 2010.
  • Statistics:
    • Monster Card to Spell and Trap Card ratio: ~1:2
    • Win/loss ratio: 30:1.
  • Comments:

I wanted to build an Infernity Deck ever since they appeared on the anime. I was intrigued by the fact that this deck seemed to make the greatest disadvantage of them all (hand at 0) a great advantage, by the introduction of the "Handless" concept. I loved it, so I wanted to build it! And now that I did, man is it good! This is an Infernity OTK build, although I have a control build underway (for post-banlist reasons), so I don't think any explanation is needed!

Decks Under Construction
