WelcomeEdit

 • Dude, I have no effing clue who you are, but you are mad cool for being sysop in, like, three days. -- Huajun Chen 19:54, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Wikia ImprovementEdit

Your Global CSS/JS sounds good. It -should- work if you copy it straight over, but I've copied the pages from your Wikia across to a test Wikia on a Virtual Machine on this PC for testing, and I don't get any show/hide functionality. Same goes for -this- Wikia's CSS/JS Global pages, when I copied it over, and used the same templates. All very frustrating.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 23:05, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

SVGsEdit

Reply from Animepedia, as you probably guessed ;)

Two questions. First: is it just me or the vector images don't seem to work on their description pages? And second: do you want something with a simple background to use as an icon (like Earth above) or something resembling the original background as close as possible (like Dark above, or even closer) so that it can look cool even when rendered bigger? And a third question (out of two, yes, I can count XD) is: you know that the images are now used directly and not via a template, so you're gonna need to change all occurences manually or with a bot, right? --Radaghast 17:54, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Name2Edit

Thanks, remove those would take a lot of time but your bot will do the job. --Dragon Slayer 21:23, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Featured CardEdit

I see that you fixed some things in the Featured Card Article, but there is a mistake on the old Featured Card archives, they link to incorrect revisions. Can you fix it please? I get lost trying to do so. Thanks. --Dragon Slayer 23:02, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

It's ok. It's fixed now. -- Deltaneos 23:51, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
^_^ No it's not... It wasn't broken, it was just that I had to go to work after I did the splits. I never intended to do the linking the way you did Deltaneos, I'm using DPL, that archive list is going to be automatic, you won't even need to touch that archive page or the template page, just create a new featured card page. Ask me when you want to change the featured card on how to do it if you're confused. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen-local (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Oct 6, 2007 @ 02:11 (UTC)
What can I say?... Good work, just don't put us to shame (more shame, whatever ^_^). -- Deltaneos 16:54, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Fusion TemplateEdit

Temple of the Kings can Special Summon a fusion. That's the reason by the one it was included on the template. --Dragon Slayer 01:22, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Meging templatesEdit

Sorry, but I've greatly changed, the card table template. -- Deltaneos 16:10, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

I know ideally you'd have liked to have the name parameter dropped in the card navigtion templates, but they've been at least merged into the one template, Template:Navigation. If it's alright can you get the bot to replace the old templates with the merged. But not the ones with 2 at the end. They haven't been merged (yet). -- Deltaneos 10:35, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

How about this... I won't do that now, cause if I did it's likely I'll be needing to run a similar query again later on. Try and get some people to comment on Yu-Gi-Oh!:Community Portal#Prefixes to Namespaces. If it's decided to go along with it, I'll get the Techs to do that and I'll fix up that navigation template. If it's decided against (Though there are good valid points for doing that, other than just the templates. It's nice for searching and other things), then I'll still improve the template, but I'll use StringFunctions instead. Either way I'll make the template so that it doesn't need the name input and instead of the name2 just accepts a alternate name as the first parameter.
ie: Instead of this:

or

or

or even

You would instead use:
SomethingElse
And the rest would be automatic. And I'll get a bot to fix things then. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen-local (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Oct 24, 2007 @ 22:03 (UTC)

New NamespaceEdit

Is it impossible to view or restore pages starting with the new namespace that were deleted before the conversion? And ouch our article count seems to have taken a hit. -- Deltaneos 11:10, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Are we to move or do anything with the old talk pages such as Talk:Card Rulings:Return from the Different Dimension, which now should be Card Rulings Talk:Return from the Different Dimension? -- Deltaneos 21:48, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Don't move the pages. (Also that page would actually be Card Rulings talk:Return from the Different Dimension). And try to avoid creating new talkpages. I've notified the techs about all 3 of the issues and they should get to it. I've also asked them to look in the allpages for the new namespaces to make sure that there are no talk pages there before they fix the bug by applying the same change that was done to articles, to the talkpages. I'll add up a sitenotice to attempt to stop people from making the fixing a bit harder. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen-local (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Nov 13, 2007 @ 00:59 (UTC)
Sorry to be a smart ass, but it's the freakin' same once you follow the link. The 't' automatically gets capitalised. Er should it be doing that? -- Deltaneos 01:13, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
That means that they did something a bit non-standard. Normally the namespaces have a trailing _talk with a lower case t. The T is only capitalized in Talk: because it's at the start of the namespace. It doesn't matter much, but I'll note it. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen-local (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Nov 13, 2007 @ 01:38 (UTC)

Passing by (-; wanna drop a note: your request is not lost, just buried in my queue. (Stats and small _talk should be ok now.) -- Ppiotr (Nef)<staff /> (talk) 14:00, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

This ticket is back on me and seems not to be finished. )-: Could you please give me a short info what's left to be done with prefixes and namespaces? Thx. -- Nef <staff /> (talk) 21:27, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

ACGEdit

It looks like there's more support than opposition, the only one against is Andersmusician and he isn't properly against, he just doesn't see the reason for it. Wait two or three more days to see what is the final choice. --Dragon Slayer 18:17, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Alternating imagesEdit

You said to forward this to your talk page. Anyhow there's a CardTable3, just to test this alternating images thing TwoTailedFox has added. so by clicking the blue in the Image Index the image changes to the corresponding release. Here's an example. -- Deltaneos 11:34, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Before you give a big long reply, yeah, we know it can be made much simpler and there's no need for a seperate Card Table. The priority last night was obviously to get it working. Are there any problems though? -- Deltaneos 11:53, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Well, it sure is an interesting feature. Though there is one bit of an issue. Normally it is nice to have it fallback when the user does not have JS enabled. However in this case, when JS is disabled the user sees a extremely tall set of images which disrupts the entire infobox. I think this could be done better with AJAX. I can't work on it now. But I think I'll help on this one later on. Rather than sticking this inside of the CardTable, it's going t use a Subpage. So the card will be located at Blue-Eyes White Dragon and it'll transclude Blue-Eyes White Dragon/Gallery to insert a single default image into the infobox. And a link to that gallery will be put there for fall back to allow for those without JS to still view the cards. AJAX will grab the contents of that gallery page (Using &action=render) and grab the stuff inside of the <gallery/>. It'll create the list of images below, and dynamically change images when things are clicked on. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen-local (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Dec 5, 2007 @ 17:18 (UTC)

SMW/NamespacesEdit

Hi. SMW namespace ids changed. Did you add any SMW stuff that should be moved? -- Nef <staff /> (talk) 22:16, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

LoladoooEdit

Thanks for the info. --Dragon Slayer (Contribs Count) 01:17, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

SMW TypeEdit

Yes. (This was short, wasn't it? <-; ) -- Nef <staff /> (talk) 18:37, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Any progress on this? I'm kinda curious how did you handle INF. -- Nef <staff /> (talk) 21:28, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Yours is a really cool piece of code. (-: Pls. drop by http://fp013.sjc.wikia-inc.com/wiki/Special:Version and check if everything's ok. fp013 is kinda messy (yugioh db over old naruto config+images) but for a quick test should be ok. If I'm wrong and you need something fixed pls. ping me. -- Nef <staff /> (talk) 14:28, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

Well, it should be good. Can't test well with my system, but it doesn't break when I switch to it. Sorting doesn't work though, but I expect it's just to screwed up and has job que issues. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Jul 23, 2008 @ 00:46 (UTC)

Another type extensionEdit

Cool, go on. -- Nef <staff /> (talk) 13:04, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Property:GenderEdit

Is it alright to change, to the possible entries in Property:Gender to begin with lowercase letters. eg. "male" rather than "Male". All pages here use the lowercase version. I've checked animepedia and narutopedia and they do the same thing. -- Deltaneos 09:14, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Happy BirthdayEdit

I know, you don't like getting alerted for greetings... but It's you birthday. Don't think you can hide. Have a great day. -- Deltaneos 10:53, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Anime ImagesEdit

Since you're on, do you think you could have the bot categorise the anime images? Thanks. Rodtheanimegod4ever 20:48, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

YGO ExtensionEdit

 • We have a new request for the YGO Extension you're working on. We need Minus Numbers defined as well (Specifically, for Levels, there are now "Minus" figures for card Levels, don't ask how). We basically need <0 to return -1, -2, and similarly, >-5 to return -4, -3, 4, 5, etc. See Freezing Fitzgerald‎.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 23:35, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Infobox wideningEdit

Was it necessary to add the widening to the infoboxes? On some pages it made the LHS too thin and on others that have longer lines in the RHS, it made the box way too wide. And I think it looked kinda better when the image went the full width of the box. I dunno if it displays the same for both of us, but here's how I see it Image:Widened infoboxes.png -- Deltaneos (talk) 14:05, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

SemanticFormsEdit

Forms are up and running. There should be SemanticDrilldown ext. as well but something got messed up with code rollout. I'll sort it out in 1-2 days. Enjoy. -- Nef <staff /> (talk) 21:56, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Template:DiscussionEdit

The Delete template mentions adding discussion (currently non-existant) to the top of talk pages. What exactly is supposed to go on this discussion template? It's just users keep adding it to talk pages and then following the red link it leaves and posting their comments there. I'd like to at least know what it's for, before protecting (or even creating) it. -- Deltaneos (talk) 16:14, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

About the SandboxEdit

it is... interesting but i do like that for the one you are testing it on, that it shows both the Dark Synchro Version and the Synchro Version that is being released~MEOW~ Might of the BIRD Empire~~ 00:04, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

oh ok, nvm then~MEOW~ Might of the BIRD Empire~~ 01:44, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Re: SemanticsEdit

They're different properties. Things like Fusion and Effect are not Types. They're just listed on the card next to its Type.

If Warior and Fusion were both set as values for Type, would get a list of all monsters which are either Warrior or Fusion, not just monsters which are both Warrior and Fusion. is what you need for that.

Also assigning multiple values to a property does actually restrict what you can do with #ask.

 • If you wanted to get a list of all non-Warrior-Type monsters wouldn't work. It would get a list of all cards which have a Type other than Warrior, so cards that are set as both Warrior and Fusion would still show up.
 • If you wanted to output the monster's Type with |?Type, it will show all values e.g. Warrior, Fusion and Effect in alphabethical order. As far as I know there's no easy way of splitting that down to whichever of the properties classed as "Type" you were after.

Semantic MediaWiki nerfEdit

Daniel,

the Semantic queries on yugioh are taking a heavy toll on our DBs. I'd like to do two things to limit the heavy queries from hitting the database so hard.

First, I am going set $smwgQMaxSize and $smwgQMaxDepth to their default values (12 and 4 respectively). This will be done when we complete the next step, which is...

Use concepts :) as defined here http://semantic-mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Concepts I will gladly help in the transition process, if you point me to the heaviest queries on the site (i.e. most fields in the query). I want to start using concepts for the heavier queries as they cache better ( vide http://semantic-mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Concept_caching ). Please note that concepts will retain the elevated MaxSize and MaxDepth settings.

Hopefully, these two changes will be enough to combat the performance problems.

Grab me on IRC or Skype (better) if you want to discuss anything or have questions. I would be much obliged if you would help spread the word to the community about upcoming changes.

Cheers, TOR<staff /> 13:30, September 8, 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for giving that LunaBangBang guy the banhammer.--Thanonyx (talkcontribs) 01:09, February 20, 2011 (UTC)

Anime-Common.jsEdit

Is there any problem with using local JS similar to w:c:anime:MediaWiki:Anime-Common.js, rather than importing it directly? It has been suggested on one of the forums here. -- Deltaneos (talk) 01:07, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

Central of yu-gi-oh communitiesEdit

Hi , I 'm a big fan of the wiki and ADM of Portuguese wiki. I recently had an idea, which was create a wikia and / or pages on social networks , where all yugioh communities in all countries and languages, with all variants (per example the wiki decks and the wiki yugioh questions) for wikis can communicate more easily with each other , for projects together , to help each other .... etc .

This project would have the name given in the title and would only serve to communicate , not as an encyclopedia of yugioh

Right now, I'm also contact the other wikis.

For more details , leave a message on my wall .
