Errata Dictionary Book

So to grasping your and Deltaneos' knowledge of how to making Errata Table look like that ways:

  • Bold/Italic (if used on multiple boxes) - Moved to different location or used of the word changes
  • Delete - The line that removed from the lore completely, not used for "replace" or change
  • Insert (With dust-yellow background) - The line that added in the lore completely, not used for "replace" or change

Is that correct? --iFredCat 16:29, January 25, 2013 (UTC)

Basically, yes. Though as always, if you come across anything you're not sure of how to handle, feel free to ask. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 16:37, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
Now that's making my career much easily to work it out. --iFredCat 16:39, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
Look like I am forced to using "Underline" optional as of this article. Underline is basic in same class as Bold and Italic. --iFredCat 11:54, January 27, 2013 (UTC)
Nah, just keep trading off between bold and italics: the first two lores use bold to show changed text, the second and third use italics, the third and fourth use bold again, etc. (and, of course, continue using ins and del as appropriate). ;) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 13:50, January 27, 2013 (UTC)
Well, as of conflict with bold and italic between three boxes, I don't think that it can be work that way - I would rather welcoming Underline to the list, it's like Red, Blue and Yellow in same circle. As if they are basic and first color created, Underline is the third one - AKA the Yellow. --iFredCat 01:55, February 2, 2013 (UTC)
The problem with that is that <ins/> uses underlining as well. There isn't really any other style available to us which would fit well with the current scheme, which basically leaves us with the options of either creating a different scheme (ugh) or redesigning the table so these types of conflicts aren't possible (also ugh, but not as much) if we insist on changing *something*. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 02:00, February 2, 2013 (UTC)
Well, I rarely got Underline and Insert crossing to each other, very rarely. Like one in most recently Errata Articles that Kuriboh reminded me, I didn't get Underline or Insert to intercepting each other at all - I used Underline on one line while using Insert on the next. --iFredCat 11:04, February 2, 2013 (UTC)

Template help

So, I'm trying to do a neat little interactive guide for the Master Guide 3 card storylines. I have a question: I want to somehow use a template that looks like the Card Errata template, as seen in Card Errata:Snipe Hunter, so that I can put 2 pictures side by side, with descriptions underneath, and the name of the cards where "Original" and "First Errata" are. However, how would I go about putting another description between the top of the card picture and where I want the card names to be? See User:UltimateKuriboh/Sandbox (specifically the very bottom of the page, starting from "Spirit Caller" down to the bottom) for reference. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 17:13, January 30, 2013 (UTC)

How does User:UltimateKuriboh/Sandbox/Master Guide 3 look? (when you're satisfied, it can be moved to template space, so don't worry about that ;) ) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 20:25, January 30, 2013 (UTC)
Oh yeah, I'm very happy! I'm assuming descriptions can be put underneath each of the pictures as well? Another request: Is it possible to make that template adaptable for 3 pictures as well? In the Master Guide, there are groups of 3-5 pictures grouped together under the same section. It would be kinda nice if the template could also center itself if it extended to a second row of pictures, unlike the Card Errata table. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 00:07, January 31, 2013 (UTC)
Did I ask the impossible? --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 17:27, January 31, 2013 (UTC)
No, I'm just holding off until I get through some other stuff and can spend a bit of time on it. ;) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 17:48, January 31, 2013 (UTC)
And actually, while I'm here, did you want the descriptions moved under the images, or did you just want additional description parameters added there? ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 17:49, January 31, 2013 (UTC)
Yes, I would like them under the images. Tricky thing is that there are groups of 2-5 pictures lumped together, and they have 1 description unifying them underneath. In another case, with other groups, there is only 1 description that applies to a specific card out of the bunch (specifically "Naturia Leodrake", as it is lumped in with "Naturia Rosewhip" and "Naturia Cliff", as seen here). With regards to the image provided, would it also be possible to get a template that would have two smaller pictures on top, with a larger image on the bottom? This formatting appears 4-5 times in the Master Guide 3. I still wouldn't know how to put down the title for the bottom card, since it seems like it would interfere with the presentation of the images; maybe they should be moved to the bottom along with the descriptions? We'll figure it out as we go along I guess... --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 18:10, January 31, 2013 (UTC)
How about this;
Image here
(Effect Naturia) (Effect Naturia)
(Synchro Naturia; Center)
In that way, that's how we can naming them like in Informbox? --iFredCat 18:16, January 31, 2013 (UTC)
Hmmm... The way this is sounding, I'm starting to think you'd be better off trying your hand at wikitable syntax, and hardcoding the tables for now, UltimateKuriboh. Then, after a good number are done, I can go through and pick out commonalities to base a better template off of. If you want to try this, and need help with anything, please feel free to ask! =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 18:20, January 31, 2013 (UTC)
O_O How do I do this? --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 18:32, January 31, 2013 (UTC)
Start simple, and work from there. =) User:UltimateKuriboh/Sandbox/tables covers the basic syntax, and you should play around with it until you feel comfortable creating basic tables from scratch, at which point I can give you a bit more to work with. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 19:33, January 31, 2013 (UTC)
How do I get text to wrap? See the page you created for me. (Obviously, the text will be much longer than the string of "h"s.) --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 21:06, January 31, 2013 (UTC)
It will wrap automatically once it gets too long to fit on one line, as long as there are spaces in it (which I would hope there'd be ;) ). If you're wondering instead about controlling the width of cells, that's probably better left until you're comfortable enough with the basic markup to learn a bit more. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 21:09, January 31, 2013 (UTC)
I think I got a handle on it now =) (see the sandbox table page for reference). However, I guess you can simplify things by making the tables into a template(s) to save space on the page, no? Bump. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 01:39, February 1, 2013 (UTC)
All right, I think I know what a template would have to do:
  • First row with between 1 and 5 cells, each with an image with a width as follows (can you fill in the blanks?):
    • If there's only one image, width = 200px.
    • If there's two images, and a second row image, width = 100px.
    • If there's four images, and no second row image, width = 150px.
    • If there's five images, and no second row image, width = 125px.
  • Optional second row with one image, with a width of 202px (201px if the table uses class="wikitable", which I plan on).
  • Optional third row with between 1 and 5 cells, each with a name related to the above image (card, archetype, etc. name).
  • Optional fourth row with one cell, for a description.
    • If the third row is omitted, the fourth row isn't, and vice versa.
Does this look right to you? Are there any other cases which might complicate it? ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 02:07, February 1, 2013 (UTC)
Everything seems alright. Maybe I missed something you said, but I would like the description cell (when there are 2 100px images on top of a 200-202px image) to be like it is currently, and not separated from the name of the largest, bottom-most image. So it should look like "Naturia Leodrake" and "Ally of Justice Catastor". I think it looks neater that way, and won't confuse people into thinking there should be names for the other images (since a separate cell for the name would confuse them I think). --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 02:19, February 1, 2013 (UTC)
There, how's that look? (Just so you know, though, it doesn't currently explicitly support having only three images; I can add that in easily enough if you let me know how wide they should be.) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 02:33, February 1, 2013 (UTC)
Haha, it looks coolio! There will be some situations where 3 images will be side by side, with card names underneath, and a description underneath that applies to all of them as a whole, like the "Lightsworn", so adding a thingy for that would be nice. (P.S. Don't think I didn't notice your Grammar Nazi slipping through; I noticed that typo you fixed! I was going to fix it later... -_- ) --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 03:09, February 1, 2013 (UTC)
I need to know how wide you want the images in that case. ;) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 03:17, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

(Indent Reset) A lot of stuff to go through and think about; I'll give you an answer many hours from now. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 04:00, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

I think the 4 new examples I published covers all the potential scenarios now. (And yeah, I guess I want a separate row for the name, if there is only one image.) --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 17:23, February 1, 2013 (UTC)
All right, the template now covers all the cases you presented, exactly as you presented them (minus centering the table on the page, which I can add a switch for if you want). Some notes on usage:
  • "bigimage" only works in the case of exactly two "first-row" images; I can add support for using it with one or three through five "first-row" images, but once again, I'll need to know what the widths should be.
  • I added a "bigimagename" parameter before I properly understood what you meant when you said there should be a separate name row for the one-image case. I left the parameter in "just in case", but what you requested was already possible: just use the "image1" and "name1" parameters. ;)
  • Width is determined automatically according to the number of images:
    • One image = image + table width of 200 px
    • Two images = image width of 200px; table width of 400 px
    • Two images + bigimage = top image width of 100 px; big image+table width of 201 px (the extra pixel is needed to account for the divider between the top images, which is one pixel thick)
    • Three images = image width of 175 px; table width of 525 px
    • Four images = image width of 150 px; table width of 600 px
    • Five images = image width of 125 px; table width of 625 px
  • Width can be overridden by the "width" parameter, which directly resizes the "top row" images and is used to calculate the proper width for bigimage and the entire table.
If you have any other questions or requests for the template, ask away and I'll see what I can do. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 01:50, February 2, 2013 (UTC)
Upon preliminary save (with Wikia skin enabled), the search box and all the Wikia stuff that takes up some of the right side of the page has been shoved down to the bottom. I remember there was a thingy that fixed that, but I don't remember =(. Could you help? --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 04:17, February 2, 2013 (UTC)
I'm not seeing it here. Is it happening on a particular page? What do you mean by "preliminary save"? ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 07:10, February 2, 2013 (UTC)
Sorry, I should have been more clear. It is at User:UltimateKuriboh/Sandbox. Probably caused by the lil codes I added in to center the tables. By preliminary save, I meant I wasn't quite done with applying all the tables. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 07:19, February 2, 2013 (UTC)
All right, I'm seeing it here, though it works fine in Monobook. Unfortunately, I don't really know much about the Wikia skin (and certainly not as much as I should know =D ), so I'm not sure how to solve this problem, and it's too late for me to try and figure it out right now. Delt may be able to help (if so, I'd expect him to just comment here when he sees this, though it wouldn't hurt to leave a message asking him to take a look), but if not, I'm not sure who to ask short of turning to Community Central or asking via Special:Contact. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 07:28, February 2, 2013 (UTC)
Ok, so now I think one of the last problems (if not the last) is the width of the "description" cells. Having a long description under a small width under a one picture is a bit unwieldy. Is there a way to lengthen them horizontally without making the whole table wider? I'd prefer to have an option to do them manually. See the "Legendary Six Samurai" section, under "Shi En" for reference of what it should look like. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 16:42, February 4, 2013 (UTC)
Currently, the whole thing is a single table, which means if I allow the description cell to be wider, it will cause the whole table to widen. What I can do instead is to separate it into its own table, as you did with the "Shi En" example you pointed me to, but it will apply to all the tables. Or I could add a separate "descwidth" parameter that would cause the separation so you could control it better... Which would you prefer? ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 17:10, February 4, 2013 (UTC)
I have no preference, so long as there is no gap between the picture and the description. And in any case where I want the description cell widened, I would want it widened across the whole page. Whichever option is more efficient and clean. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 17:41, February 4, 2013 (UTC)
All right, done; use the "fulldesc" parameter with any value ("1", "yes", "true", whatever) to make the description cell fullwidth. Note that there may be minor positioning issues between the two tables in this mode on a few browsers (in particular, I believe the border between them will be 2 pixels thick instead of 1 in IE 6 and older), but it shouldn't affect readability in any case. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 19:49, February 4, 2013 (UTC)
Last thing: There was some sort of glitch that messed up the centering for the page and revealed the instances of where </div> was located on the page. Specifically, this occurs in the same section ("Shi En"), where the images for "Blind Spot Strike" and "Shien's Scheme" are. It was caused by the fact that there was no combined description for the two images. I assume it's a simple matter to fix?
I think I already got that fixed; at least, I can't spot any problems now. Give the page another look and if you still see something wrong, let me know. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 22:12, February 4, 2013 (UTC)

New request! Could you alter the template to also allow the big picture to be on top, and the smaller pictures on the bottom? And yeah, allowing titles underneath each of the pictures (like you did for "Genex Ally" in the "A Force Opposes the Gods" section) would be great! The page is now located at Master Guide 3 card storylines. (On a side note: No one has commented on that Monster "Type" template yet...) I appreciate the work you put in. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 16:47, February 21, 2013 (UTC)

Seiyaryu

There are pngs that aren't real pngs? o_O --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 18:47, February 6, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, on occasion you'll run across an image uploaded here that has an extension that doesn't match its actual filetype. I'm not sure how they can be uploaded, since MediaWiki should check for mismatches like this at the time of uploading and prevent the upload if one is found, but it happens nevertheless, and when it does, we can't rename the image because MediaWiki detects the mismatch. If you're wondering, the easiest way to figure out what's going on in cases like this is to note the MIME type listed under the image on its description page, next to the resolution and file size; for instance, for File:Seiyaryu-PCJ-EN-VG.png, the line reads "Seiyaryu-PCJ-EN-VG.png‎ (200 × 290 pixels, file size: 143 KB, MIME type: image/png)". Correct MIME types for given extensions are "image/png" for PNG (obviously ;) ), "image/jpeg" for JPG/JPEG, "image/gif" for GIF, and "image/x-bmp" for BMP. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 19:13, February 6, 2013 (UTC)

Yaksha

I can't believe you haven't noticed, but even Konami has released an article about the Structure Deck, and they are called "Avatars", not "Beasts". That site is no longer official, at least to me. It constantly messes up names. Just because it is not a fan-run site doesn't make it official. I'm not even sure if they are even affiliated with Yu-Gi-Oh! (they probably just translate the cards' names without consulting any official sources). Anyway, if they're wrong on this card and the Enthusiastic monsters when they're released, I suggest we don't use them as sources anymore. MadRest 23:30, February 9, 2013 (UTC)

You're talking about the Weekly Shonen Jump Alpha website? The one run by Viz Media? The company that licensed the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga series for North American distribution, and works directly with Konami on promotional events, information releases, and promo card releases? And you're seriously suggesting that the site isn't official, or affiliated with Yu-Gi-Oh!?
If they're wrong on this card, the only thing it means is that they had preliminary information to work with, and it changed between the time they got it and the time the card was actually released in English. It does not change the fact that their information came straight from Konami. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 00:01, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
I'm not saying that they're not official; I'm just not sure. For starters, this card was revealed along with High Avatar, so why wasn't this card changed to Avatar when it was logical that the others would use something similar? My guess is they don't receive confirmation on most cards, and for the ones they don't, they make up their own names. However, since Fire King Avatar is already a confirmed archetype, there's no reason for only this card to be left as is, only because a half-official site says so. It goes without saying that Yaksha is an "Avatar". They won't make only him be a "Beast", and then add exceptions to "Fire King Avatar Garunix". MadRest 00:13, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
There's nothing to not be sure about. The site is completely controlled by Viz Media; the only part that's open to the public for modification is article comments, which we're not discussing here. Konami owns the franchise outright, Viz Media is the official North American licensor of the manga and a major news outlet for the North American card game, and the site is directly controlled by Viz. I really don't know how much more confirmation you could possibly need.
As for the specific question of Yaksha's English name, currently the most recent official source we have lists his name with "Beast" instead of "Avatar", so that's what we use until we get a newer official source that changes it. It doesn't matter if it doesn't make sense or fit with the rest of the archetype; it's still an official name, and the only one (or at the very least, the most recent one) we currently have, so it's the one we have to use. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 00:21, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
And if it doesn't, are we just going to completely ignore the fact they messed up? MadRest 00:23, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
If it doesn't what? It's not our place to call them on messing up a name. For all we know, Konami have some deeper plan that somehow involves Yaksha using "Beast" instead of "Avatar" (I'm not actually saying they do, but see how easily conjecture can go in either direction?). The simple fact is, we could spend all day second-guessing Konami, saying "they couldn't possibly be doing that", but at the end of the day, if they want to, all the reason and logic and fanslator bellyaching in the world isn't going to stop them. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 00:30, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
I'm not saying that. It just that if they are wrong for this card, if a situation arises again when an archetype name is different than a previously released card, or when a card name is extremely obvious to guess based on other related cards, and this site says otherwise, we will go with what logic dictates. MadRest 00:36, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
No, we won't, because that's second-guessing them. They could be wrong literally every single time they feature a card name, but because they're an official source, as long as they're the only source we have for a given card's English name, we must use the name they list. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 00:39, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
A half-official source, not an official source. They lose their credibility if they are wrong more than twice. Also, we do archetype names for anime cards, even though the episode isn't in America yet. Isn't that also considered second-guessing, according to you? And this time, we have another semi-official source, the other Avatars already confirmed by the TCG. It is not the same case as when a stand-alone card is announced. Cards that belong to an archetype are handled with second-guessing on this wiki. MadRest 00:47, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
Being wrong does not make a source "half-official". Your view on credibility is irrelevant and it is also subjective. If there is an official English name, we use it, period. An official English name =/= the TCG name. A card can have multiple official English names. This is no different than the English dub using a different translation from the TCG. The name is official, archetypes be damned. Its likely it will be "Avatar" when its released. If that happens, we move the article then and note "Beast" using the "altname" parameter. There is nothing to be discussed. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:54, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
In addition, we "do archetype names for anime cards" only when the card in question does not have an English name from some other official source. Direct names in official sources always trump consistent usage of an official archetype name. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 01:06, February 10, 2013 (UTC)

Tralala

Yo, Dino. So, just wondering, is there some automatic way of completing a list like this? There are 56 disks, and it'd be nice for us to have the list completed (I have pics for many of the missing covers as well), but it took me some damn while to type the whole Yu-Gi-Oh! GX DVD listing and Yu-Gi-Oh! (first series anime) VHS listing manually, and I'm sorta bleh to add 20 more disks manually in another list. *__* LegendaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 03:36, February 10, 2013 (UTC)

I think the closest I could come to automation right now would be a template for the table layout. Making the lists fully automatic would require articles on all the DVD releases, with someone to think about the design of the SMW properties so they'd actually be useful in building the lists. I'm also not sure there'd be any clean way to incorporate the boxset information in the way it's presented on the GX list, but that can be changed as necessary (the simplest way would be to break it out into its own table specifically for the boxsets). ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 04:02, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
I think it'd look nice to have DM classified by Boxes as well like GX, but I can't find the scans of 'em, so don't worry 'bout that part. :/
So, you plan on making the template? Not asking you do to it, just to know. If you do I'll wait. Otherwise I'll start typing shit down right away. xD LegendaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 15:33, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
I don't have any immediate plan to do so, mostly because right now a template wouldn't actually be much simpler than the raw markup. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 19:25, February 10, 2013 (UTC)

RE: Audio Uploads

SALUTATIONS, DINOGUY!!

Listen, I've heard from LegendaryAsariUgetsu that you're a knowledgeable tech guy. I sent Deltaneos the following response below regarding the shortening of .ogg files on here. Maybe you could try to solve this in the most utilitarian manner possible? Thanks!!

Message:

Thanks for the great feedback with what I did. I sure as hell DON'T think you're being a pain at all regarding this--these copyright Nazis that satiate our free world are getting on my nerves (I know how this feels--I had to cancel THREE YouTube accounts over this past summer because a couple of FAN-MADE Anime Music Videos (AMVs) that I made for FUN were blocked due to said grounds being violated. I can't help it that I have that much of a LOVE for the series. It makes me wonder if TvTokyo is as anal about their material as Disney is about their stuff!!? >;[ )

Anyway, I just wanted to vent about that because it's just a shame. Other than that though, if abridging the audio tracks to <=30 seconds long is how it has to be on this Wikia, then I don't mean to seem lazy but as a senior college student with a lot of things I need to do, I'm formulating this in my head and I think that doing this for the hundreds of more tracks to go may be pretty time-consuming for me, especially since it seems that given that the audio tracks for the Sound Duels tracks pages is still pretty incomplete, it seems that not a lot of the users on this page has a lot of the tracks themselves.

To make the above discourse shorter and simpler, is there a way that I can email, upload or import a folder, containing all the .ogg Sound Duel files I have so that way, another user who has MUCH more time on their hands can access, download and shorten them? In my opinion, I don't think I'm the best person to tediously cut every audio file down. I apologize for a request like this but if this Copyright Nazi manner didn't apply here, I'd still be going onwards and upwards with the Sound Duel-related pages and .oggs.

Thanks!--ARCADIASSCHOLARLY 18:28, February 10, 2013 (UTC)

--ARCADIASSCHOLARLY 20:37, February 10, 2013 (UTC)

I think your best bet would probably be to find someone willing to do the shortening, and then (depending on how large the collection of tracks is, in terms of total file size) email them the collection, or upload it to a file sharing website that only keeps files for a limited time. As for how to actually go about preparing the collection for upload/download, I would recommend using 7-Zip to compress the folder into a .7z archive (because really, there's all of no reason for anyone ever to not have 7-Zip already; it's just that awesome (certainly much more so than WinRar) =D ). ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 21:08, February 10, 2013 (UTC)

Language

What was the language that you posted in Delta's User page, Chinese or Japanese? When I tried put on one for my User Page, it only displayed half of what I can using... --iFredCat 00:07, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

Never mind my previous comment - I don't get that they're missing F and C in Barian language... So I am curious of how you speaking "The Black Cat" in Astral words...? --iFredCat 00:13, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

Considering Astral just consists of super-stylized katakana characters, the first thing is to determine an appropriately Engrish reading of "The Black Cat" (because I'm too lazy to try and find the "standard" transliteration of it into kana =D ): I'd end up with something like "za burakku kyatto". Typing that into Google Translate with the "Input Method" option enabled nets us ザ ブラック キャット, which is helpfully translated back as "The Black Cat", confirming our Engrishification of the original phrase. Now, we can just plug that into {{Astral glyphs}}, leaving us with ザブラックキャット (obviously, there're still some things the template doesn't cover). ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 00:31, February 11, 2013 (UTC)
Interesting... guess I have to waiting until the show confirm all letter and er... number in both languages. Thank you for give a details of what I had to using. --iFredCat 00:41, February 11, 2013 (UTC)
The other way of writing it is to use the Japanese words for "(The) Black Cat", which are Kuro Neko (黒猫くろねこ), like in "Black Cat With a White Tail". The Astral for that is くろねこ ({{Astral glyphs|くろねこ}}). -- Deltaneos (talk) 00:45, February 11, 2013 (UTC)
Interesting enough... I guess I will using that one. But for my NAME! Where's the C and where's the F!?!? --iFredCat 00:53, February 11, 2013 (UTC)
Barian is used for writing Japanese romaji. There's no naturally occurring "c" in Japanese, so it's possible it won't have a Barian letter. Unfortunately, Falzar hasn't found a Barian "f" yet, so we don't have an image of one. -- Deltaneos (talk) 01:07, February 11, 2013 (UTC)
Therefore I have to put in my name as "-redVat" instead of the usually "FredCat"... gee! (The dash in early titling word is just cover up the missing letter; F) --iFredCat 01:14, February 11, 2013 (UTC)
I would actually suggest using a "K" in place of the "C", instead of a "V": "-redKat"; -redKat. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 03:03, February 11, 2013 (UTC)
No wondered why I forgot about that one... *grumpy as I stormed to my User Page* --iFredCat 03:11, February 11, 2013 (UTC)
Actually, now that I think about it, you could also use a "V" in place of the "F" for now: it's not a perfect replacement, but the sound is close enough to serve as a stand-in until we get the actual "F" glyph: {{Barian glyphs|VredKat}}. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 03:17, February 11, 2013 (UTC)
...and of course, I don't actually check to make sure we have the "V" glyph yet, either. -_- ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 03:19, February 11, 2013 (UTC)
Also to that of those; J, L, and Q. Those letters made a column empty as question mark. --iFredCat 03:22, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

Material in lores

I was going to add the rule at the beginning of each Dark Synchro Monster's lore to {{Anime card}}, but it comes between the material and the lore itself. We currently input the material using both the "material" and "lore" parameters. Is there any advantage to doing it with both or can we drop it from "lore"? And if we do, should we have it display in just its row, just the lore box or both? -- Deltaneos (talk) 20:59, February 13, 2013 (UTC)

I think probably, having it display just in the lore box and removing it from the lore parameter proper should be fine; we can always change how it displays later if we don't like it for whatever reason. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 21:04, February 13, 2013 (UTC)
I forgot to mention, manga cards don't mention the material in their lore, except for D Team, which uses OCG cards. We could put the material outside the lore box for manga cards or are we going to want something consistent? -- Deltaneos (talk) 22:03, February 13, 2013 (UTC)
Can you link an example image or two? I'm leaning towards consistency myself, but I'd like to see what the cards actually do first. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 22:32, February 13, 2013 (UTC)

Types

Do you think you could combine the {{Infobox/Archetype/Start}}, {{Infobox/Archetype/ExtendedName}}, {{Infobox/Archetype/Yu-Gi-Oh!}} and {{Infobox/Archetype/End}} templates into one big template like you did for {{Infobox archetype}}? I ask this because it is still used on pages for Types, such as Pyro and Machine. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 03:05, February 19, 2013 (UTC)

Truth be told, I'm not completely sure we actually need an infobox template for Type pages. I remember someone else saying the same; I think it was Delt, but don't hold me to it. Probably what needs done for now is to start a discussion in the forum asking what others think: whether they think there should be an {{Infobox Type}}, why or why not, and if yes, what info they think should be in it. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 03:08, February 19, 2013 (UTC)
Meh, it's not something I expect many users to get excited over and offer their opinion, but ok. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 03:13, February 19, 2013 (UTC)
If nothing else, it gives those of us that actually care a central place to organize our thoughts, as well as something to point to in the future should we get questions about the use (or lack thereof) of infoboxes on Type pages. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 03:15, February 19, 2013 (UTC)

Quick formatting question

Can you make a wikitable collapsible? Lord Grammaticus (talkcontribs) 07:31, February 19, 2013 (UTC)

Yep, just add "collapsible" to the table's classes:
This table is collapsible.
cell 1
cell 2
You can control its initial state (whether it is collapsed or expanded when the page is loaded) by also using the "collapsed" or "expanded" class, respectively:
This table is always expanded at first.
cell 1
cell 2
For more information, see wikipedia:Help:Collapsing. Hope this helps! =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 08:07, February 19, 2013 (UTC)

DM1 images

Awesome, thanks for that. =)
I'm not 100% sure on it myself, but the reason I uploaded those is because they're the only place in the game that shows what card has what number. The most likely thing I'll do is just put them all in a gallery somewhere, but I may also make the relevant image display in {{DM card}}. *shrug* ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 13:38, February 19, 2013 (UTC)

Every card that had a DM1 image had a DM2 image. Any cards that were in DM2 that weren't in DM1, I have no clue about. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 13:55, February 19, 2013 (UTC)
DM1 featured 365 cards (including the 15 secret cards), and DM2 added 355 more cards to that list, featuring 720 in total. According to our info and what I've found, DM3 added 80 more cards, featuring a round 800, but I haven't seen any direct confirmation, and we're missing almost all of the card images from it. DDS, from what I understand, should be a fairly straightforward port of DM3, and so feature much the same card list. I don't recall the specifics of any games in the DM series after these, but they *should* all at least keep the count steady. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 14:01, February 19, 2013 (UTC)

[1], though that will also get any game screenshots and related images that are named with "DM2" in their filenames, so someone would still have to go through the search results by hand. It would probably be easier just to run through one card at a time checking, especially since more than half have already been done. ;) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 00:08, February 20, 2013 (UTC)
Modifying the search to "DM2-JP" excludes the other things and drops the score to 257. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 01:43, February 20, 2013 (UTC)
With quotes, or without? I'm getting 999 results without quotes. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 01:45, February 20, 2013 (UTC)
Without. It says about 992 results for me, but after setting my results to display 100 items per page, it only shows 3 pages. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 01:49, February 20, 2013 (UTC)
Aah, that makes sense. There seems to be some stuff Google misses, then, since at bare minimum there should be 365 results, and even the most cursory glance shows that it has plenty of results for cards with a number higher than 365. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 01:52, February 20, 2013 (UTC)

I feel that having all those cards in one page might prove to be lengthy after a while... --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 05:20, February 28, 2013 (UTC)

Talking about this? Yeah, that's getting annoying. What needs to happen is for all those sublists to be merged together and the headers removed, and then somehow add links to the articles that already cover per-pack card lists and expand that list to list all the cards featured in DD Plus.
That being said, length is an issue I've been giving thought to. The Tag Force games, for instance, have several thousand cards apiece, which would not at all be very nice to contain in a single list; perhaps it would be better to use the card list itself to list those cards that don't appear in packs, and then simply link out somehow to the booster pages, which handle listing the rest of the cards in a given game. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 13:42, February 28, 2013 (UTC)
