Archseries Templates

Hi. The archseries templates shows the cards as OCG/TCG or Anime/manga, right? However, as we create the Anime and Manga pages with their correspondent templates, the only ones that appears as Anime/Manga are the Video Game ones (like the "Carrier" template). So, shouldn't the templates shows OCG/TCG and Video Game instead?. --Missign0 (talkcontribs) 05:17, May 1, 2015 (UTC)

Video games are the odd duck, really; we still aren't quite sure how we're going to be handling archetypes and series in relation to video game cards. Ignoring that, though, I can say that eventually {{Archseries navbox}} will be getting rewritten to bring it in line with {{Archseries navbox (anime)}} and {{Archseries navbox (manga)}}, and that regardless of what we ultimately do with VG cards, they won't be displayed in it after the rewrite. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 06:45, May 1, 2015 (UTC)

Help, part 2

Hi there, Dinoguy1000. I am Choko, a user from another wiki who ventured its way here to seek help, and GoldenKey lead me to you. So here is the details about the help that I need. Hopefully, you can help me out. :)
ChokokuguzaNoTobira (talk) 03:34, May 5, 2015 (UTC)

Hi, Choko, I'm glad you guys find {{Ruby}} useful enough to nab for your wiki! =) In order to get the ruby styling to work in Firefox (without requiring all your visitors to install a Firefox extension), copy the CSS from the /* Firefox ruby support */ comment to the end of MediaWiki:Common.css to your wiki's MediaWiki:Common.css or MediaWiki:Wikia.css file and bypass your browser's cache (it may take a few minutes for the wiki to start serving the updated CSS, so don't worry unless it still doesn't work after a day or so). Good luck, and let me know if there's anything else you'd like help with! =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 10:01, May 6, 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply, Dino. And yes, I actually like it. As for your suggestion, I actually did that. Or rather, have the admin of the wiki do it. But for some reason, it is not working at all. I refreshed the cache multiple times but it's still not working. It led me to wonder if I missed something or I have to install something in our Common.js first before it would take effect. So as a temporary solution, I installed an extension..
ChokokuguzaNoTobira (talk) 10:09, May 6, 2015 (UTC)
Can you link me to the wiki where it's been copied to? ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 10:15, May 6, 2015 (UTC)
Here it is.
ChokokuguzaNoTobira (talk) 10:18, May 6, 2015 (UTC)
All right, after some testing, I've figured out that the problem is that your wiki's Common.css file isn't loaded for viewers using the Oasis/Wikia skin. Wikia staff can enable this on request; you can send a request for it in to Special:Contact/general. Alternately, you can have an administrator copy the necessary CSS to your wiki's Wikia.css file instead.
On an interesting side note, Firefox will finally be getting native ruby support in version 38, it seems. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 11:00, May 6, 2015 (UTC)
Guess I'll do both. But what are the necessary scripts needed? And what should I tell the staff? I mean, what should I need to activate?
ChokokuguzaNoTobira (talk) 11:05, May 6, 2015 (UTC)
For the staff request, just ask them to make Common.css load in Oasis on your wiki. If you'd like, feel free to include a link to this discussion in your request. If you do request this of staff, though, I'd recommend against having the relevant styles copied to Wikia.css, since after the staff request goes through the copied styles would just have to be removed again. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 11:09, May 6, 2015 (UTC)
Alright, so I asked them to activate the common.css for me. Thank you, Dino! I'll inform you of what happened, afterwards.

Anime Effects

Hi Dinoguy1000,

I have a question regarding the anime effects of cards. Of course the lore of certain cards in the Japanese anime where the card lore is listed are not always visible, in which case, the info box is posted which states that the lore was too small/not visible/etc. Many cards that have this info box do not include the Japanese anime lore; however, others list a Japanese lore from the anime (i.e. "Orichalcos Kyutora"). How can we be certain that these were indeed the anime effect(s)? I would assume that they're reconstructions...but I'm not entirely certain. Thank you so much for your time Dinoguy1000. =) --ToonPegasus (talkcontribs) 21:41, May 9, 2015 (UTC)

In cases where there is no card image, the "ja_lore" parameter should be removed. In cases where the best available image does not include 100% of the card text, it should also be removed, but changing it so only the portion we see is transcribed is also fine. "Kyutora" is actually a pretty interesting example, since all the text is visible but is in Enochian. We could remove the reconstructed tag if we can get a translation of that text somewhere. Hi Cheesedude,

Thank you so much for your response and your time! Thank you for that clarification it makes sense now. =) --ToonPegasus (talkcontribs) 05:04, May 10, 2015 (UTC)

No problem. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 05:09, May 10, 2015 (UTC)

ILLs

Not really an oversight; just got interrupted in the middle of my transfer from the sandbox version. They're back, though as discussed with TwoTailedFox, that separate interlanguage link module in the right rail has been nixed, as it's mostly redundant of the MediaWiki-created ILLs. — CzechOut <staff /> 17:17, May 11, 2015 (UTC)

Volume

Hey Dino. Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's - Volume 009 includes the listed chapters PLUS Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's - Ride SP1. How can I add the special chapter in the chapter listing template? LegendaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 19:27, May 19, 2015 (UTC)

Add it manually to the table, either above or below the query that lists the other chapters (probably it should be placed the same relative to them as it appears in the book). Letme know if you need help with the markup at all. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 03:02, May 20, 2015 (UTC)
Hm, I was having trouble adding it on the same template so I added a second one featuring only the SP chapter. But for some reason it's listing the first chapter as well... o.O LegendaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 17:24, May 20, 2015 (UTC)
I noticed; it's got to do with the code in {{Infobox/Yu-Gi-Oh!/Chapter}}. I tried to add a quick fix, but it doesn't seem to be working for some reason, and I really don't have the time right now to work out exactly why and fix it. In the long run, the whole template needs replaced, though; that's been on my to-do list for forever. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 18:47, May 20, 2015 (UTC)
