RE: Bot moves

I've been converting the list at Special:Log/move into bot commands, then deleting the redirects (not sure about the first batch, but afterwards I figured out a way to only delete it if it's a redirect) via bot (though, I can't mark it as a bot edit). There was a flaw to it however, if you move between editions (UE to 1E), or between different rarities because the image was incorrectly uploaded, it won't pick it up automatically, but I think I've corrected them all by filtering out the list and then manually checking those ones, though I can't guarantee that I perfectly checked it all.
In short, I'm fine with that, but a list of irregularities such as those would be useful as well. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 02:55, June 14, 2012 (UTC)

According to the Image policy, the only images which won't have -1E or -UE are Japanese cards. (Although I think it's slightly confusing, since Japanese cards use -DT and -LE where possible)
Sure, I don't mind either way. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 03:15, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, though there is are many limitations to the Wanted Images list. I think I'll try figure out a way to update all red links in Card Gallery images some time. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 14:36, June 15, 2012 (UTC)
Should I update all the red links in the Set Card Galleries as well (like what I did to the Card Galleries), or do you want to do them manually (as you move the rest of the images on the same page)?
If it is the latter, should I run something to remove unwanted symbols in the card names of red links (! , . - = etc). -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 12:19, June 20, 2012 (UTC)

Package editions

Is it worth uploading both -1E and -UE versions of Booster Pack and other set images? I don't think it's totally necessary, but I am finding slightly different packs both of which are supposed to use the same filename. For most packs, it's a case of whether there's a "1st Edition" under the red box in the top right-hand corner. However for the North American ones (SET-###), as far as I can tell the ones that have "For US and Canada English Edition" in the corner are Unlimited Edition, while the ones that are blank in that corner are 1st Edition. I'm not 100% certain, though. -- Deltaneos (talk) 00:00, August 1, 2012 (UTC)

From what I have found and have on hand, LOB, MRD, MRL/SRL, and PSV are the only main series packs that have versions without any language box, i.e. no For U.S. & Canada English Edition or English Edition. Those four sets have four have six different packs in all:
Two no language box, 1st Edition and Unlimited, SET-###
Two For Europe English Edition, 1st Edition and Unlimited, SET-E###
One For U.S. & Canada English Edition, Unlimited Edition, SET-###
One English Edition, Unlimited Edition, SET-EN###
Its a little strange for MRL since it changed to SRL but it follows the same pattern just the last to are SRL and SRL-EN respectively. As for uploading the different editions of the packs I'm fine with that it is not necessarily needed but we could do it. ^_^ We would really have to dig for some of the early ones though.
A strange side note, I just bought a couple of special edition sets and the third pack in each was strange. The Tactical Evolution: Special Edition's Invasion of Chaos pack was labeled English Edition and came with IOC-EN cards like I expected but the Tactical Evolution: Special Edition's Labyrinth of Nightmare pack was labeled English Edition as well but came with LON-E cards. And Gladiator's Assault: Special Edition's Dark Crisis pack again was labeled English Edition but the cards were just DCR. So, yeah after those first four sets it gets stranger. Look234 (talkcontribs) 12:50, August 2, 2012 (UTC)
It'll be nice to finally reach SOD in this set page redesign. Things are nice and straightforward from then on. This is at least interesting for now.
I don't suppose you have any of the Australian English ones at hand?
From what I can see, Europe initially got -### cards for MRL all the way through to AST (MRL, PSV, LON, LOD, PGD, MFC, DCR, IOC and AST) and the first six Starter Decks (SDY, SDK, SDJ, SDP, SYE and SKE). I can't really tell for LOB and MRD. They also got -E### counterparts for MRL to LON and the first two Starter Decks. I think the -E### sets were released a bit later. At a guess, I would say the -### cards released in Europe did not have the "For U.S. and Canada" printed in the top corner, so the language boxless sets are probably -### cards that were released internationally. I can at least confirm that the SDY-### and SDK-### released in Europe did not have the red box, but as far as I can tell, that's the same in North America. I think prior to the scrapping of -E###, all the -### cards released in Europe might have been Unlimited Edition.
So, if I am right, for the early sets, we have:
Language box Edition Number Region
- 1st -### North America
- Unlimited -### Worldwide
For U.S. and Canada English Edition Unlimited -### North America
For Europe English Edition 1st -E### Europe
For Europe English Edition Unlimited -E### Europe
English Edition Unlimited -EN### Worldwide
Now, UDE are just being difficult with those Special Editions... -- Deltaneos (talk) 15:14, August 2, 2012 (UTC)
I can't even find a picture of an Australian English pack online, the most I have is one or two LOB-A### cards so I know they exist out there. And that sounds right as far as I know. It would make sense for them to use a general English pack say in the BPT Collectible Tins instead of making two different tins for each version of the English packs. I'll look around but for LON through IOC I think all of those packs did have a For U.S. & Canada English Edition and a English Edition except IOC has a 1st edition English Edition pack. This was probably when the started to make the transition to just English Edition packs due to upcoming sets like SOD. Haha, after SOD all you have to worry about is the random AE set once in a while.
Yeah I would want more feedback from other people who had bought those Special Editions boxes to see if it was uniform across the board, but since they are really only available online now it will be hard to know for sure. -_- I wouldn't worry about it for now, but I'll keep track of anymore oddness like that. Look234 (talkcontribs) 15:57, August 2, 2012 (UTC)
For the Special Edition packs, did you mean the IOC was in a Force of the Breaker: Special Edition, rather than a Tactical Evolution: Special Edition?
Did your Special Editions come in blister packs or boxes, btw? Your last comment seems to suggest boxes. Fwiw, I've also seen IOC-EN and LON-E come from the box versions, but I didn't check the red box on the packets. I've always thought it was kinda dumb, or unappealing to me at least, that people film themselves opening packs and upload them onto YouTube (unless of course you happen to be one of the people who does it). Anyway, I tried watching a few of them to see if the blister packs got the same editions, but there was always something obstructing the view of the set numbers. >_< -- Deltaneos (talk) 23:06, August 2, 2012 (UTC)
Yes you are correct the IOC was in the Force of the Breaker: Special Edition, and they were the box versions not the blister packs. I got them off of ideal808. And no I don't film my pack openings, there are times where it would have been neat with the random pulls I get every so often. I'll see if I can find anything as well but like I said they are older sets so it's a bit harder nowadays. -_- Look234 (talkcontribs) 17:47, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

Potential image policy change

Hello, there is currently a discussion about changing our image policy at Forum:Potential image policy change. Because such changes are accompanied by a huge amount of work (renaming thousands of files, and updating thousands of pages), we want to make as few of them as possible. Therefore, your input is requested on the proposed change, as well as any comments on other possible changes you have in mind. I think it is: Redirects are from a list of every redirect on this wikia but filtered only for the ones redirecting to something in Category:Sets. Every broken link is from the image policy and something I forgot about. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 10:58, October 12, 2012 (UTC)
Hmm, do we need to add Categories to the Set Pages? Or is there something else we need to change? Just checking because that list is about a sixth of the prefixes. For example I'm confused on how it only picked up 5DS3 but not 5DS2 and 5DS1. Is there anything I can do to help out? Look234 (talkcontribs) 16:08, October 13, 2012 (UTC)
I think I forgot to mention that the list is a list of things that are not on TCG Set Prefixes/OCG Set Prefixes, and should probably be added.
5DS2 and 5DS1 appear on TCG Set Prefixes, so they are not on that list. 5DS3 is not on TCG Set Prefixes so it is listed there. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 08:06, October 18, 2012 (UTC)

SJ subscription

In Set Card Galleries:Shonen Jump Magazine Promotional Cards (TCG-EN-LE), it lists the three character cards, "Unity", "Yu-Jo Friendship" and "Judgment of the Pharaoh" as May 2006 subscription bonuses. Do you know what the date "May 2006" corresponds to? Is it the earliest date you can make the subscription or could it be a mistake?

I have the Duelist Vol. 16 and Millennium World Vol. 4, which the last two also came in. The pockets that the cards were in say that you can get the three in Duelist 16, Millennium World 4 and the September Shonen Jump, all on sale August 1. The year is 2006. The other side of the pockets say that you can get all three at once by subscribing, implying that the subscription deadline has not passed. Wouldn't that mean that the subscription promos release comes after August 1, 2006? Konami's database lists April 21, 2007 as their release dates. -- Deltaneos (talk) 16:55, January 20, 2013 (UTC)

The database's date is off, it says that JMP-EN003 to JUMP-EN013 were all released April 21, 2007, and I know that all of those were not release at the same time (they have a few errors in their database right now). I don't have my Shonen Jumps on hand right now, I recently moved and left them behind for a bit, but try Dinoguy I know he has the issues and he should be able to tell you! ^_^ Look234 (talkcontribs) 21:27, January 20, 2013 (UTC)
(Coming 'cause I was summoned) I have never been sure myself how exactly the dates for the SJ promos are supposed to work; particularly for the subscriber bonuses, it was always very much a "while supplies last" thing (and, indeed, there was more than one such bonus I never received). In the particular case of the Sept 2006 issue, the subscription cards are still advertising the promos (fortunate for you guys I never got to that issue, because I normally remove and dispose of the subscription cards while reading the issues). Perhaps more interestingly, though, they list a website to optionally visit to make the payment. There's a bit more info given on page 142, but again, nothing that would nail a precise date down, and coverage on the cards themselves is given on pp. 344–345 (importantly, the "Unity" promo included in the Sept '06 issue was on p. 345).
Jumping back an issue, I didn't see any mention of the promos in the August issue (including on the subscriber cards - apparently I never got to looking through that issue either), but I only flipped through, so if you have that issue, Look, you may want to take the time to check more carefully.
Now, revisiting the "I don't know how release dates were supposed to work" thing: SJ issues always advertised that they went on sale starting the first Tuesday of the month before their cover date (so the January 2010 issue, for instance, went on sale the first Tuesday of December '09), but subscribers normally got their issues earlier: I can remember getting issues perhaps as early as the middle of the month, two months before that issue's cover date, and I'm sure there were others who got theirs even earlier. I'm guessing this really doesn't matter in terms of the "official" release date, though, so whatever.
Now on another, and IMO far more interesting note: The Sept '06 issue features a bit of a rundown on YGO history on p. 346, including some very nice-looking OP versions of the first two YGO cards ever printed in Japan, "Dark Magician" and "Gaia the Fierce Knight" - presumably, these are the Vol.1 prints, but the page doesn't specify. Unfortunately, though, I don't have a flat-bed scanner at my disposal, so I can't really do much to get images that would be worth anything. Other things on that page, though (transcription):
  1. The first TCG cards were released in Japan in February 1999.
  2. The TCG cards hit America in March 2002.
  3. Since then, 15.9 billion TCG cards have been sold worldwide.
  4. And 17.5 million video games have been sold worldwide.
  5. And 1 million Duelists have registered to play the Yu-Gi-Oh! Online game.
  6. The most recent U.S. national TCG champion is its youngest yet! Austin Kulman was 10 when he won in June 2006 — and he's headed to Japan for the World Tournament.
  7. The Yu-Gi-Oh! manga first appeared in the U.S. in the premiere issue of SHONEN JUMP: January 2003.
  8. The Yu-Gi-Oh! R manga debuted in the Japanese magazine VJump in June 2004.
  9. The Yu-Gi-Oh! GX manga debuted in the Japanese magazine VJump in February 2006.
  10. And... the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX manga will start appearing in this very magazine in January 2007, which comes out the first Tuesday of December 2006! Yeah, we can't wait either!
The opening text on that page also confirms another point: "Well, Yu-Gi-Oh! turns 10 — Yu-Gi-Oh, of course, is like 3,000 years old. Yes, 2006 is the 10th Anniversary of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga! Kazuki Takahashi's story began its weekly publication in September 1996, issue 42, of the Japanese magazine Weekly Shonen Jump. What's happened in 10 years?"
All in all, lots of interesting stuff making me very glad you guys made me dig through my collection and crack this issue open. ;) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 01:00, January 21, 2013 (UTC)

Legendary Collection Mega-Pack edition

Do Legendary Collection 2: The Duel Academy Years Mega Pack and Legendary Collection 3: Yugi's World Mega Pack have Unlimited Edition prints? -- Deltaneos (talk) 19:34, January 31, 2013 (UTC)

As far as I know no they don't. It's one of those weird things Konami has been doing lately, the Legendary Collections, Structure Decks past SDDL, the PRC1 tin to name a few. I'm not sure if this has to do with future release plans or if the set just didn't sell well enough to account for an Unlimited print. ^_^ Look234 (talkcontribs) 21:43, January 31, 2013 (UTC)

Constellar Acubens

Can you rename "Constellar Acubes" to "Constellar Acubens", please? IgorThunderMaster (talkcontribs) 20:53, February 3, 2013 (UTC)

I got it. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 21:02, February 3, 2013 (UTC)

EV13

Hi, Look. Any idea what EV13 actually is? --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 13:41, February 25, 2013 (UTC)

Hey, yeah the EV## sets are strange, they are tournament cards that can be release out of numerical order and sometimes at multiple tournaments. Most of the previous EV## sets seem to be released at seasonal events. With Korean set abbreviations they are pretty good at matching it with its English translation, ex. HGP1 is High Grade Pack 1. So for now, until we can get someone to translate or give us an official name, I just call them 2013 Seasonal Event prize cards or something similar. ^_^ Look234 (talkcontribs) 17:58, February 25, 2013 (UTC)

Twitter

Hi, Look. We haven't gotten much feedback (by that I mean no one but you responded) at Forum:Twitter/Facebook (will probably do a site announcement, that might help). Also, we could use some more people to help run both of them if we want them to be useful. Would be interested in helping with either of those? Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 15:54, March 23, 2013 (UTC)

Sure I have no trouble helping out. Thanks! ^_^ What all do I need to do to work on it? Look234 (talkcontribs) 03:46, March 24, 2013 (UTC)
If you want to help on FB, contact User:Gcheung28 and she'll give you the password. If you want to help with Twitter, I'll e-mail you. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 11:08, March 24, 2013 (UTC)
Actually, if you just "like" the Facebook page and specifically ask to become an admin there, I can grant you adminship there. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 12:49, March 24, 2013 (UTC)
I help out with the Twitter account for now since we have more people working on the Facebook page at the moment. So email me with whatever I need to do. ^_^ Look234 (talkcontribs) 18:39, March 24, 2013 (UTC)
Seems you have the e-mail function disabled. Uh, can you either give me your e-mail, or use the e-mail function to e-mail me and I'll respond? Thanks, Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 22:44, March 24, 2013 (UTC)
Haha so it was, its enabled now. But just in case [email protected]. Look234 (talkcontribs) 23:12, March 24, 2013 (UTC)

Image Template Reminder

Just a reminder that when TCG/OCG card images are uploaded nowadays, we add this template in their "Summaries":

{{OCG-TCG card image
| name = Air Armor Ninja
| set = SP13
| region = EN
| rarity = C
| edition = 1E
}}

You can just copy/paste it, and:

  • replace "Air Armor Ninja" with the card's name
  • the set ID for the pack the card is from (which was Star Pack 2013 in this case, the abbreviations of which can be seen at image policy)
  • the language it's in (the abbreviation of which is displayed before the set number)
  • the rarity of the card being uploaded (abbreviations that can be seen at Rarity)
  • the edition of the card (1E = 1st Edition, UE = Unlimited Edition, LE = Limited Edition, and DT = Duel Terminal Edition)

You can also edit the file pages and add the summary in that way. Cheers! --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 03:29, March 27, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, I get absent minded sometimes. -.-' Look234 (talkcontribs) 03:34, March 27, 2013 (UTC)

Its a prize card in the Korean Spring Battle 2013 Tournaments. I'm still trying to dig up more info and better images, but here is a link to the article where I found the images Here. ^_^ Look234 (talkcontribs) 01:00, April 2, 2013 (UTC)

Gold Series 2009

What reason did you have for changing the English release date of Gold Series 2009 from May 27, 2009 to April 21, 2009, along with adding the international release dates as April 21 as well? I can only find support for the English release date of April 21 from the Konami database, but I still don't understand why. (For the record, a Spanish Gold Series 2009 exists; proof in the form of a Spanish "Gold Sacrophasgus" pic exists on this Wiki.) --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 00:55, February 7, 2014 (UTC)

Central of yu-gi-oh communities

Hi , I 'm a big fan of the wiki and ADM of Portuguese wiki. I recently had an idea, which was create a wikia and / or pages on social networks , where all yugioh communities in all countries and languages, with all variants (per example the wiki decks and the wiki yugioh questions) for wikis can communicate more easily with each other , for projects together , to help each other .... etc .

This project would have the name given in the title and would only serve to communicate , not as an encyclopedia of yugioh

Right now, I'm also contact the other wikis.

For more details , leave a message on my wall .
