Use Ideal808 for Card Images. They don't have all the early ones, but they have practically all mid-life English and Japanese Card Images, that are actually at a decent resolution.

Also, when storing card images, the eventual goal is to have -every- card image catalogued, so it would be good if you could store them via a naming convention I came up with. Example:

TriHornedDragonLOB.jpg

Now, at that point, I hadn't fully realised that each card has different language versions, so tags like -JA (i.e. TriHornedDragonLOB-JA.jpg) for Japan, -US (TriHornedDragonLOB-ES.jpg) for Spain, -DE (TriHornedDragonLOB-DE.jpg) for Germany, etc, with the default images (TriHornedDragonLOB.jpg") being English language (Which is perhaps the fairest I can make it, since this Wiki is primarily English in nature, both in content, and it;s original target audience --TwoTailedFox 17:24, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Hi.

The problem you describe ia a fault of the software, since the # character is used to pinpoint a specific place in an article. So, we have to resort to Crawling Dragon 2 instead of linking direct to Crawling Dragon #2 direct

Hey Thanks....

I'm actually uploading all the images from my own personal collection that I've scanned over the last few years. The images are all .gif and 400x580 at 600dpi. The resolution is the key to the images that I've been uploading. Figure everyone should be able to read the card for themselves :) Again, thanks and I'll keep working until I get tired and decide to finish my Yu-Gi-Oh! Game and Database Manager.

BTW: How is UW these days... been a few days since I graduated from their.

--Pcouw

mmm... well given that I do want this site to be the best site for images and information about Yu-Gi-Oh! I think I can handle the "conditions". But I would like to say a few things... after a little testing with image quality and size can I suggest that images be 85% or better image quality vs. image size, 275x400x24b jpg images with preference to 1st edition images. Since there is a preference for 1st release, using 1st edition images where possible would make sense.

That aside... is there a way to do mass uploads? I can convert my collection via ACDSee to these requirements, just hope there might be away to upload quicker.

When it comes to "sets" I noticed there is the full list for TCG at the bottom of the mainpage and then there is the "completed" sets... which is correct for the naming of new pages since there is some discrepancy. For example, the GBA 2004, 2005, 2006 World Championships don't have the full name in the title (ie. 7 Trials to Glory - 2005 World Championship).

--Pcouw

Just read my page and saw what you were talking about... note I uploaded 3 images that were previously on the server already... once I read the page, I stopped... SDY and SDK are done imagewise. Other than that, nothing new...

I noticed the problem you mentioned... the funny thing is once I refreshed the page and cleared my temporary internet files it went away... not sure if there is just a conflict or a problem... give that a try before deleting all the 275x400 files. Actually the more I upload the most F5 I have to do... I wonder if its just the server hanging? --Pcouw

IMS?Edit

Do you have any ims? --Evil Yugi 00:01, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Japanese CharactersEdit

I started on this about 3 days ago with TwoTailed watching over my shoulder all the way. He went along and removed the () for the 「」 but never said that he didn't want the Japanese names alongside the English ones. In my opinion it completes the cards information since nearly all cards are Japanese first and then have an english "Translation" to them. It's for completeness and really nothing else. Other names like French or Spanish aren't necessary since our target isn't that audience but this game is based historically on a Japanese idea thus including the Japanese names seems to be appropriate. If you know otherwise, please inform me... or TwoTailed can decree what is the idea for this site. --Pcouw 14:11, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

I was just checking but it looks like TwoTailed agrees with the Japanese names since he reverted the Dark Magician to include the Japanese name.--Pcouw 14:14, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

Someone started adding the Japanese Text, and it looked OK from over here. It also provides a potential quick-snap reference to the Japanese Name for -any- card. --TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 14:28, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

Counter TrapEdit

Ah. I was just gong by what previous lores have read, none of which have shorted "Counter Trap Card" to just "Counter Trap".

Talk:Horakhti the Creator of LightEdit

Please refer to the talk page for information on the card on the article. Big Boss 21:21, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

You keep reverting to an incorrect effect for the card pictured. Please respond on my talk page for more information. I would really appreciate it. I am trying to be as diplomatic as possible. Big Boss 21:24, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Wouldn't the real life version of the card override the manga/anime effect such as Card of Sanctity? Big Boss 21:33, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

QuestionEdit

I hate to burst the proverbial bubble but the real versions of the card were awarded at Konami sponsored tournaments. So wouldn't that constitute it being officially printed? However Upper Deck had nothing had to do with the release of the 10 Horus cards. They were also legal in all later tournaments. The suprising thing is that they have different effects. So how would this wikia handle something like that? Would it be like the Arkana and Yugi Dark Magician or not? Big Boss 02:20, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

AnswerEdit

I don't know. Why would Konami make Blue Eyes Shining Dragon in English before making Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon? To put it simply I do not have all of the answers. And I never will. But to my knowlegde of why there is no copyright would be that since they wanted to make a card that is practically unplayable they would leave it off. This might also be the case if they printed without getting consent of the creator of the manga/anime. This could also be the case if someone outside of Konami made the design for the card. As far as no card number when Konami first made cards they did not put numbers for the series which the card belonged to. As far as your god card question I for a while wondered why the god cards would be able to have so much power and why they were the only 3 monsters with the Divine attribute. The answer is that here power does not come from a card effect but their attribute. That is what shield's them from other card effects. But as far as individual card effects I do not know if the Divine attribute applies to this or not. Even in the movie the god cards had the text that they have in the real world. So I can conclude that my above theory is probably 95% accurate. Big Boss 20:14, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

HorusEdit

Buy this month's shonen jump. Yugi summons it in this issue. And they did play the memory arc saga on tv about a year ago. Big Boss 15:22, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

TextEdit

So far everyone that I have talked to has said nothing about a line that says the name of this card is treated as """. That may be the way that they made the card illegal. Making multiple versions of the same card with different effects. Big Boss 15:01, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

Card Article ImagesEdit

  • Nice of him to tell everyone else. This would have been a good idea if it was put into practice from the start. I would be all for it, if it didn't mean going through the thousands of pages that follow the old format. But I suppose if it must be done... -- Deltaneos 11:23, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

SRLEdit

Hello. Care to settle a dispute? Do you know if SRL cards numbered SRL-EXXX and SRL-XXX exist? I can't find info on them anywhere other this site. I just think they kept the MRL sets for the North American and European sets, while SRL served as the worldwide. --Deltaneos 01:02, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

  • About this edit, was that based on any source, 'cause I can't find any any evidence of the existence of those European set numbers. Same goes for the American ones. I've already flagged the Set Galleries corresponding to the European and American set numbers for deletion, and need to know if we should remove the links to and delete the set number redirects. -- Deltaneos

Prefixes to MainspaceEdit

Sorry to bother but, have you read Yu-Gi-Oh!:Community Portal#Prefixes to Namespaces? Basically it would change Card Gallery, Card Rulings, Card Errata, Card Tips, Anime and Manga Appearances and Card Trivia: pages to a special type of page, like pages starting User: or Template:.

Advantages:
  1. We'll be able to filter the Recent Changes to just tips, rulings, whichever.
  2. When your searching for pages you can select any of these as a namespace to search in.
  3. Currently when you click random page, you're more likely to land in a page regarding a card that has many of the pages in the Other Card Information section. For example Elemental Hero Necroshade has all six pages in this section, so you have 7 chances of landing on a Necroshade page compared to Spike Seadra where you have only 1 chance of landing on a Spike Seadra info page.
  4. You'll be able to open a random Gallery or a random Tip etc. by using [[Special:Random/Card Gallery]] etc.
  5. We'll be able to merge the Card Navigation templates and will not need to include the name parameter. Just simply add {{Navigation}} or {{Index}} (whatever we call it) to the page. Whereas before you would have to type
{{Trivia
|name = Dark Magician
}}
In case where a name2 parameter would have been needed, we would just need to type {{Index|Dark Magician}} instead of,
{{Trivia
|name = Dark Magician (Arkana)
|name2 = Dark Magician
}}
The one template would hold for all pages in the Other Card Inforamtion section, so {{Index}} would be used in each page insted of Template:Rulings for Rulings, Template:Tips for Tips
Disadvantages
  1. You can't get random page to land in something completely random, it will only open a random page in the Main Space (which will exclude Galleries, Tips etc.). Unless you specify it be a random gallery, tip, etc.

We need feedback before we can do anything, so let us know if you have any thoughts (for or against). -- Deltaneos 18:39, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Duel Monsters Promos: Series 1 BackingEdit

Ok I've kinda overloaded you with messages, but you've uploaded all or at least the majority of images in Set Gallery:Duel Monsters Promos: Series 1. Do you happen to have an image of the back of any of them? -- Deltaneos 23:02, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Furigana editEdit

There was an edit conflict, but I proceded to save my edit thinking you'd only changed the filename. Then I went back and readded the furigana. -- Deltaneos 03:38, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Here. It's an excellent source for German (and English) images. -- Deltaneos 21:13, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Moving the set numbers and rarities above the set name was TwoTailedFox's idea (neater). TTF also seems set on having the Australian-English (ie. cards numbered like LOB-A001.) kept seperate from the English. Since the Australian-English situation is identiacal to the European, we said we'd follow through with North American and European-English. Though I'm still not sure we should seperate them but it's better all 4 TCG Englishs are seperated than just Australian seperated from the rest. Although I'm starting to think it'd be better all the TCG Englishs were put together. Even by by comparing to other languages like German who also have two language ids. (G and DE). Hmmm, yeah... what to do, tricky. If you want to go back the old way, push the matter on to TTF. -- Deltaneos 18:54, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

If I remember correctly you are an admin, right? You think you can block Takehiko Inoue 81 (another Big Boss 0 clone). Dmaster (Contribs Count) 16:18, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

DTP1 Blue-EyesEdit

No, nothing too astounding in quality. Here's the best I can find without a site overprint. Only other image I've seen of it is Shriek's one. Hardly worth replacing your Retro Pack scan on the main "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" page though. -- Deltaneos (talk) 18:20, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Recently we've been adding 1E, UE and LE for 1st, Unlimited and Limited Edition, to the end of filenames to allow both 1st and Unlimited Edition images without overlapping filenames. Exception to this is Japanese cards, since they don't distinguish between 1st, Unlimited and Limited Edition. Since the Duel Therminal cards, read Duel Terminal in that part of the card, DT seems fittin. You're problably thinking that's a terrible idea right now, since we have thousands of images named with the old format, but TwoTailedFox has intentions of uploading better quality versions of the majority of them (at least the English ones). -- Deltaneos (talk) 18:33, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

I have a small question. (Tesshu Ariyama)Edit

I have had the Japanese Marik Ishtar deck for some time and have been contemplating on whether I was going to make it in English or not.. I have decided to do so but 1 small detail confuses me for I do not know the answer... The monster card called Viser Des (top piece of Byser Shock)I was wondering if it was released in the usa and if so what booster is it from. Any advice would help greatly on making this marik deck. If u wanna talk and help out here are my contacts. Thanks for reading this ^_^

Re: Card page layoutsEdit

Oh hi Narchibald. Good to see you're still around. We have been discussing changes to suit the new width over at Forum:Width adjustments for the new skin. One of the suggestions was to collapse the names section i.e. have them hidden by default until the user clicks [show]. You can post your suggestions there too if you wish. -- Deltaneos (talk) 18:38, October 24, 2010 (UTC)
