Uploading images

Hey, your contributions are great in the way of images, but they need to be named properly. See our image policy before you upload a whole bunch more, ok? You can look at the card galleries of card pages to see examples of how the images are named (just click on the picture to see its name). --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 03:30, December 30, 2012 (UTC)

Translations

Shouldn't the japanese name just be a link that redirects you to the page?

[email protected] (talkcontribs) 09:53, January 16, 2013 (UTC)

I quite like the idea actually, but it is quite a bold change so perhaps it is best to discuss the idea first. I don't think the redirect is necessary but the translations work nicely alongside the card articles. --Spongebob456 (Talk) 09:57, January 16, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks

Thank you for adding the Japanese information to the gameplay articles. In the future, please italicize the phonetic names when you add them. Thanks, Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 19:46, January 16, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks as well. Great thinking, batman! =) --Spongebob456 (Talk) 19:49, January 16, 2013 (UTC)

Quotation marks

Please don't move the Spirit Messages' pages. It was agreed in a discussion to use regular quotation marks for all pages, not fancy ones. Thanks. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 17:49, January 28, 2013 (UTC)

The conversation took place here. Since you did not respond and instead moved the pages back, I've blocked you for the time being. Please respond. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 18:13, January 28, 2013 (UTC)

Copy/paste moves

Please do not make copy paste moves, like you did here. If you want a page to be moved but there is already a page in use, tag it with a {{rename}} template. That preserves the page's edit history. Thanks. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 01:50, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

Again, please do not copy page contents to rename the page, as you did with Light of Destruction and Light of Destruction (card). In addition, in cases where your renames/moves would change the primary article for a given title (as happened here with "Light of Destruction"), the change should be discussed first to see if there is consensus for the swap. I've undone this move, and in the future will revert such moves without comment. Sorry if this seems a bit hard-line, but it seems something is necessary beyond just politely asking you to stop. If you have any questions or need help with it (or anything else! =) ), please feel free to ask me; I'd be more than happy to help. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 03:31, May 3, 2013 (UTC)

Fire Fist page

Hey there, I've seen your edit on the Fire Fist page and I was wondering what was the purpose of it. I just don't understand did you do, for example; I don't know why you change "Beast"/"Named after" to "Pun of..."/"...And". I have been following the page for a long time and I'm into the Water Margin history as well. I would like to know your thoughts. --~NS~ 18:40, June 22, 2013 (UTC)

Spell/Trap Card images

Hello. I see that you've uploaded some PNG images like this. Unfortunately, we cannot use them, because they too closely represent the artwork used on the card. The SVGs we use were designed from scratch to be approximations of the symbols; that way, we can claim that they, under fair use, are used as representations only of the image. Yours duplicate the image almost perfectly, and while I have to admire the work that has gone into them, we cannot use them.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 16:10, November 4, 2013 (UTC)

Hello I saw all of you proxies and they are great! But can you please upload a more recent proxies for Fusion, Ritual and Synchro monsters? Please it will very help me :) Thanks in advance--Liavcol (talkcontribs) 06:55, November 8, 2013 (UTC)

I just extracted them from the official Japanese rulebook version 1.1, which only contains proxies from series 7 for Fusion, Ritual and Synchro. The version 1.2 doesn't help with that: only monster card proxies can be extracted. Maybe we just wait til they release newer versions of the rulebook. lolTake Fumikô (talkcontribs) 14:00, November 10, 2013 (UTC)

Hey there.

How are you enjoying the wiki? Also, your avatar looks familiar, but I can't quite place it... Lord Grammaticus 10:48, February 13, 2014 (UTC)

Uh, sorry but what were you saying? I used one of the Charmer's artist Akina's artworks as my avatar. And I don't think I've already known you.Take Fumikô (talkcontribs) 03:36, February 15, 2014 (UTC)

Ah, I'm just a passerby. I was just asking how you liked the wiki so far is all.
And I KNEW something was familiar about that artwork, but I just didn't have the words for it! Thank you. Lord Grammaticus 03:55, February 15, 2014 (UTC)

Hi Take Fumiko. I wonder why you are not uploading any images anymore. I wanted to ask you for something: Can you please give me the source af all your proxies? Those are the finest on the web and they helped me alot... If not, can you just upload a proxy of a Pendulum monster please? --Liavcol (talkcontribs) 22:08, March 25, 2014 (UTC)

Hi Liavcol. Thank you for your request, for that made me check out and learn about a brand new type of monster. As I said in the previous thread, I extract the proxies from the official Japanese rulebook. I've just finished uploading everthing new from the latest rulebook. Glad to help you.Take Fumikô (talkcontribs) 04:20, March 26, 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for coming back :D Right after I wrote you I checked your talk page again and saw that I have already asked you that and you answerd. I wasn't reallt familiar with all this "talk" system, so sorry about that. I've looked at the new rulebook. But sadly, I couldn't find any high resolution images like the ones you have uploaded before :( Although I'm looking for a way to englare the images in such a way that I won't lose quality... Well, I hope the next rulebook will have much better pics for us...--Liavcol (talkcontribs) 18:22, March 27, 2014 (UTC)

Actually, the Master Rule 2 v.1.1 includes the best-quality images (and of course, it is stored in the largest file, 5 times larger than each of the updated versions). I'm surprised that you couldn't find any high-res images: it should be noted that images are embedded in the PDF file, and you ought to find a way to extract them for best quality, not just to "take" pictures of the pages. I don't think there would be a better rulebook than the Master Rule 2 v.1.1.Take Fumikô (talkcontribs) 03:23, March 28, 2014 (UTC)

Well actually, I did find the high res pics that you have extracted from Rulebook 3. But I still couldn't find high res Pendulum monsters' pics...--Liavcol (talkcontribs) 19:30, March 28, 2014 (UTC)

Aren't these good enough for you? http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140330082259/yugioh/images/7/7e/MagicianofAstromancy-ST14-JP-OP.png http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140326035102/yugioh/images/4/4e/MagicianofChronomancy-ST14-JP-OP.png

Sorry, those are the best I've got. Why do you need hi-res pics so bad? Are you trying to make a card template?Take Fumikô (talkcontribs) 08:25, March 30, 2014 (UTC)

Well, thanks but I already extracted a Pendulum monster card from the rulebook. Although it wasn't very high res like the others I still managed to use it in order to start the making of a template and I will finish it soon. Thank you very much for you help! I will send you a link to a custom Pendulum monster after I'll finish the template :D--Liavcol (talkcontribs) 19:20, March 30, 2014 (UTC)

I'm looking forward to it.Take Fumikô (talkcontribs) 01:48, March 31, 2014 (UTC)

I have completed the Pendulum template! Here is a link to a card that I've made: [[1]]

Tell me if there is anything you think I need to change. And in return for your help: I welcome you create a card and I'll convert it to my template :D It doesn't have to be a Pendulum monster and you can use me for this as much as you want, if you'll give me everything, including the pic you want me to use.--Liavcol (talkcontribs) 21:10, April 2, 2014 (UTC)

Ancient Gear Tank artwork

Where did you get this image? --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 17:13, March 30, 2014 (UTC)

From Photobucket. I don't really know what game it comes from, but I found really odd that an "Ancient Gear" with such a gun was once said to be left unedited (in other words, no Artworks page had been created), and it's necessary to proclaim the differences (there are differences, aren't there?). Sorry if this violates the forum policy. The TagForce artwork of "Teva" was added by me as well, from Photobucket. By the way, why would "Magician of Black Chaos" and "Amazoness Queen" not have their TagForce TCG artworks? I can't find them anywhere.Take Fumikô (talkcontribs) 03:53, April 3, 2014 (UTC)

Consider using the "preview" button instead of publishing each of your posts, you put a ton of posts at once without any need to. Zaziuma (talkcontribs) 13:50, April 17, 2014 (UTC)

Sorry if that's bothering you. I've been editing each section, not the whole page, in order not to make huge mistakes.Take Fumikô (talkcontribs) 13:57, April 17, 2014 (UTC)

Redirects

Thanks for all your redirects, but you didn't put the needed categories on them. Please remember to do so in the future. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 12:03, April 19, 2014 (UTC)

OW

Please do not replace all anime card images with the OW images. We only want to do so on the main card pages when the anime image is poor. It is preferable to have the Japanese lore visible if possible. Thanks, Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 09:36, May 4, 2014 (UTC)

Is there any reason you continue to replace them? -- Deltaneos (talk) 09:53, May 4, 2014 (UTC)

If you don't reply, your edits will be reverted. -- Deltaneos (talk) 10:02, May 4, 2014 (UTC)

OW images

Please upload in .png format, not .jpg. Otherwise, other people will upload .png versions, and your images will be deleted. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 01:28, May 9, 2014 (UTC)

Uploading actual card images

When uploading real-life card images, please use the following in the "edit summary" when you upload them. If you forget to add it in for some reason, you can just edit the file page and put it in that way.

{{TCG-OCG card image
| name = Overlay Booster
| set = LVAL
| region = EN
| rarity = C
| edition = 1E
}}

Replace the contents as needed, to correspond with the file name. If there is no "edition", as you may find for Chinese and Japanese cards, just remove the "edition" parameter entirely. It'd be appreciated if you could add this in for all the Chinese cards you just uploaded. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 12:12, May 11, 2014 (UTC)

This is not a "suggestion." If you are uploading card images, you have a responsibility to be adding this template to those files. I noticed you skipped out on Korean images of "Creator of Hope" and "Legendary Dragon of White", the former of which I have added the template to. Please add the template to the latter, and try not to forget. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 04:43, May 28, 2014 (UTC)

Foreign card names

When adding their name parameters, please leave a space between XXname and the = sign, for consistent formatting. You're using them like "krname=BIG Win!?" when it should be like "krname = BIG Win!?" --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 08:37, May 19, 2014 (UTC)

Sure thing, but why is that needed?Take Fumikô (バカアキ) (talk) 08:40, May 19, 2014 (UTC)
Like I said, "consistent formatting". --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 09:47, May 19, 2014 (UTC)

Redirects (again)

Apparently you haven't noticed, but searches are not case sensitive. There is no need to make redirects for both Skiel A3 and Skiel a3, etc. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 14:05, May 24, 2014 (UTC)

Sorry about that. Apparently I'm not real good at these wiki stuffs after all.Take Fumikô (バカアキ) (talk) 02:06, May 25, 2014 (UTC)

High Resolution picture

Hi, I saw that you recently (today or yesterday if I remember correctly) uploaded the timegazer magician Pendulum with a very good resolution. Can I ask you where do you find it? Maybe in the rulebook? or in some other PDFs? Please it's very important to me, let me know Thank you very much --EagleOne984 (talkcontribs) 06:46, May 30, 2014 (UTC)

Are you trying to make a card template as well? All I got is right on the official Japanese website. Check the "How to play" pages (pink button)Take Fumikô (バカアキ) (talk) 08:57, May 30, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah :) I already did it (I have my own blog where I release them, ygoproxy.altervista.org) but I need an ultra HD official pendulum proxy to tweak a little bit my template and do it better ;) and the only thing I could find right now is the master rulebook 3 from the Japanese website too --EagleOne984 (talkcontribs) 15:35, May 30, 2014 (UTC)
My recent uploads are from the Duel Start Guide (デュエルスタートガイド) which is post on the same page as the Master Rule. Check it again.Take Fumikô (バカアキ) (talk) 02:52, May 31, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah I saw it, a really interesting 90MB PDF :) I will post on my blog new creation with my final Pendulum template ^^ Thanks you for your info and availability--EagleOne984 (talkcontribs) 20:55, May 31, 2014 (UTC)

Suggestion

I notice you're moving all those Korean packs. Normally, I would rename 1 pack at a time, since I would also be responsible for renaming all the instances where that pack name was used. So, that's quite a hefty workload you're putting on yourself, at a given time. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 08:28, June 4, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for your suggetion. Sadly, maybe due to my poor English, I don't understand much of what you're saying.Take Fumikô (バカアキ) (talk) 08:32, June 4, 2014 (UTC)
Basically, he's saying that when you move a page, it creates extra work that also has to be done: mostly, links pointing to the page need to be updated. Set pages are a bit more involved; in addition to links from navboxes, card pages, and other set pages, each set should have its own subpage from {{Set}}, which is used for card images from that set, which also needs updated (card images themselves shouldn't need edited or renamed). If you still have any questions, feel free to ask. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 13:44, June 4, 2014 (UTC)
Are those subpages Galleries and Lists. I did rename and edit those pages.Take Fumikô (バカアキ) (talk) 13:47, June 4, 2014 (UTC)
No, I saw that you moved the Gallery/List pages already. I was talking about e.g. {{Set/MRL}}, for Magic Ruler. Each set has its own subpage like that for {{Set}}, and the subpage has the set's page name and set abbreviation; when you rename a set page, you need to update the name on its {{Set}} subpage.
In addition, when a set page is renamed, links pointing to it from card pages need to be updated; as long as a redirect was left from the move, this is lower-priority and can be done gradually, but it does need to be done at some point. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 04:15, June 5, 2014 (UTC)
Wow this is really complicated. Thanks for your guidance.Take Fumikô (バカアキ) (talk) 07:10, June 5, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, I know. =C The {{Set}} system was really a bad idea from the beginning, but we're stuck with it until I get around to replacing it. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 08:44, June 5, 2014 (UTC)

^ That's only a small portion of what you're responsible to do after moving a page. Specifically, you'll have to rename all instances where the pack name was used, as seen here, here, and here.
I'm also going to ask that you please rename (and afterwards rename the instances where they were used) the scans of the manga covers you uploaded. Generic, nondescript/confusing names such as "Image4.jpg", "Yu-gi-oh-manga-volume-17-double-72357.jpg" and "9782505019008-couv.jpg" are uncalled for. As Golden Key says below, .png versions are also preferred. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 14:05, June 11, 2014 (UTC)

Now that's weird. I remember having checked, for eg. "What pages link to Promo Pack 2012 Vol.1" but I got nothing. Has the check funtion ever malfunctioned? And let's be clear for the last time: is what you mean that ALL image files posted to the Wikia need to be PNGs, not just card image files? If so, I think this condition should be added to the Image policy.Take Fumikô (バカアキ) (talk) 04:50, June 12, 2014 (UTC)

Your recent uploads

Your recent uploads are good quality, but again, it would be greatly appreciated if you were to upload as pngs, even if the older files are using jpg. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 14:58, June 8, 2014 (UTC)

Card Trivia

Regarding all card trivia pages, we only note "firsts". Not "seconds" or "thirds". There was an imaginary line drawn in the sand, and it was drawn at 1. That's why your card trivia was removed. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 13:30, June 28, 2014 (UTC)

Card numbers

We are continuing to refer to the number under a card's image as its set number. Please remember this when creating redirects.--Golden Key (talkcontribs) 12:11, July 1, 2014 (UTC)

That's just weird. I just copied the thing from some place and replace only the card's name.Take Fumikô (バカアキ) (talk) 13:47, July 1, 2014 (UTC)
