"The Bewitching Mai" is the 114th chapter of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga. In its first English printing, it was numbered as the 55th chapter of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist. In the 3-in-1 edition, its number was changed to match the original Japanese printing.

The final four Duelists ready themselves and Mai and Dark Yugi start their Duel.

Yugi Mutou vs Mai Kujaku

Mai's turn

Mai Summons "Harpy Lady" in Attack Position and Sets 1 card.

Dark Yugi's turn

Dark Yugi Summons "Gaia the Fierce Knight" in Attack Position and attacks "Harpy Lady" but Mai activated her face-down "Mirror Wall" reduce Gaia's ATK to 1150 and negate the attack.

Mai's turn

Mai equips "Harpy Lady" with "Cyber Bondage" and attacks and destroys "Gaia the Fierce Knight", reducing Dark Yugi's Life Points to 1350.

Anime adaption

This chapter was redone in the start of episode 29 of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime. A number of changes that were made included:

  • Yugi did not talk to his grandpa in the video recorder.
  • Mai still wore her jacket, and her skin was not visible under the strings of her lace-up top. The latter change was applied throughout the entire Duelist Kingdom arc.
  • Pegasus's bodyguards did not bring a box of treasures and money.
  • During the Duel, Yugi still wears his jacket.
  • The Duel goes on a large device instead of the hologram table. This is also happened in the whole of the Duelist Kingdom arc.
