"Summon the Nightmare" is the 172nd chapter of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga. In its first English printing, it was numbered as the 113th chapter of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist. In the 3-in-1 edition, its number was changed to match the original Japanese printing.

Dark Yugi continues his Duel with Marik Ishtar, who acting through the Doll. Marik locks Dark Yugi down, giving him sufficient opportunity to Summon his God card, "Slifer the Sky Dragon."

Featured Duel: Dark Yugi vs. The Doll/Marik

Turn 4: Dark Yugi
Dark Yugi draws "Buster Blader". Dark Yugi Summons "Beta the Magnet Warrior" in Attack Position. "Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts" attacks and destroys "Worm Drake" (Doll: 3300 → 3200 Life Points).

Turn 5: The Doll
The Doll Summons "Revival Jam" in Defense Mode and activates "Jam Breeding Machine", preventing him from Summoning other monsters, but allowing him to Special Summon a "Slime", during each of his Standby Phases. The Doll's hand contains "Slifer the Sky Dragon" and another card.

Turn 6: Dark Yugi
Dark Yugi sacrifices "Beta" and "Gazelle" to Summon "Buster Blader". "Buster Blader" attacks "Revival Jam" and destroys it, but the effect of "Revival Jam" Special Summons it back from the Graveyard in Defense Mode.

Turn 7: The Doll
During the Standby Phase, "Jam Breeding Machine" Special Summons a "Slime". The Doll activates "Nightmare Steel Cage", preventing Dark Yugi from attacking or being attacked for three of his turns.

Turn 8: Dark Yugi
Dark Yugi passes.

Turn 9: The Doll
During the Standby Phase, "Jam Breeding Machine" Special Summons a "Slime".

Turn 10: Dark Yugi
Dark Yugi passes.

Turn 11: The Doll
During the Standby Phase, "Jam Breeding Machine" Special Summons a "Slime". The Doll destroys "Jam Breeding Machine", allowing him to Summon other monsters. He sacrifices his three "Slimes" to Summon "Slifer the Sky Dragon".
