The semifinal between Dark Yugi and Kaiba begins. Kaiba takes an early lead, attempting to quickly Summon "The God of the Obelisk".

Turn 1: Dark Yugi
Dark Yugi draws. Dark Yugi Normal Summons "Queen's Knight" (1500/1600) in Defense Position and then Sets a card.
Turn 2: Kaiba
Kaiba draws "The God of the Obelisk." Kaiba Normal Summons "X-Head Cannon" (1800/1500) in Attack Position. Kaiba Sets a card.
Turn 3: Dark Yugi
Dark Yugi draws, then Normal Summons "Kuriboh" (300/200) in Defense Position.
Turn 4: Kaiba
Kaiba draws. He activates Spell Card "Soul Exchange" so he can take control of and Tribute Yugi's two monsters in place of his own. This means that as a side effect, "X-Head Cannon" is transferred to Yugi's field. Kaiba then activates Spell Card "Enemy Controller", paying 1000 Life Points (Kaiba: 3000) to take control of Yugi's "X-Head Cannon". In response, Yugi activates his Set Spell Card "Lightforce Sword", removing "The God of the Obelisk" randomly from Kaiba's hand for three turns before Kaiba can Tribute Summon it.
