Line 1: Line 1:
The first adaption of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Game (known as the Carddass version) was first released by Bandai in September 1998. Only three booster packs of this version were released before the license of the card game was sold to Konami. The gameplay system used in this version was far simpler and less faithful to the anime and manga in contrast to Konami's OCG/TCG. "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" is the only card to be printed in English.

Each Monster Card (that had no special effect of its own) had 1 of these rules printed on its card text. It should also be noted that all Bandai OCG cards had a yellow background, regardless to whether they where Monster, Spell, Trap or Equip Card (Equip Cards were treated as a distinct class of card, not as Spell Cards).
