Summary

After defeating some kids, Yuma gets cheered up, but Astral tells him he is only able to win due to his help, and that he relies on monsters too much. Yuma says that intensely attacking with monsters is more interesting and that he can win without Astral's help. Tokunosuke hears what Yuma says about his strategy and goes to Team ZEXAL to tell them that he doesn't have any friends, so he doesn't really have anyone he could Duel with. Hearing that, Yuma Duels Tokunosuke. During the Duel, Yuma plays very recklessly, falling in Tokunosuke's tricks, although Astral kept warning him about them. However, Astral then backs helping Yuma, and he manages to win.

After Tokunosuke loses to Yuma, he explains that he wanted to enter a certain Dueling Team, and that he would only be accepted if he defeated the leader of the ZEXAL Team, Yuma. Then, the leader of the Team, a boy nicknamed Shark, shows up. Tokunosuke rushes up, but he is despised by Shark's Team. Yuma gets angry with that, and confronts Shark.

Featured Duel: Yuma Tsukumo vs. Tokunosuke

Turn 1: Yuma
Yuma's starting hand contains "Gagaga Magician", "Kurivolt", "Poison of the Old Man", "Mini-Guts" and "Full-Force Strike". He draws "Achacha Archer". Yuma Summons "Achacha Archer" (1200/600), and activates its effect, inflicting 500 damage to Tokunosuke's Life Points (Tokunosuke 4000 → 3500). He then activates the Quick-Play Spell Card "Poison of the Old Man", inflicting more 800 damage to Tokunosuke's Life Points (Tokunosuke 3500 → 2700).

Turn 2: Tokunosuke
Tokunosuke's starting hand contains "Wave-Motion Cannon", "Level Limit - Area B", "Dark Snake Syndrome", "Storm" and "Where Arf Thou?". He draws "Mirror Force". Tokunosuke activates the Continuous Spell Cards "Dark Snake Syndrome" and "Wave-Motion Cannon". He Sets a card.

Turn 3: Yuma
Yuma Summons "Gagaga Magician" (1500/1000). He attacks Tokunosuke directly, but Tokunosuke activates his Trap card "Mirror Force", destroying "Gagaga Magician" and "Achacha Archer".

Turn 4: Tokunosuke
During Tokunosuke's Standby Phase, he count of "Wave-Motion Cannon" goes up to 1, and "Dark Snake Syndrome" inflicts 200 points of damage to both players (Yuma 4000 → 3800) (Tokunosuke 2700 → 2500). Tokunosuke activates the Continuous Spell card "Level Limit - Area B", which changes every Level 4 or lower monster on the field to Defense Position.

Turn 5: Yuma
Yuma draws and Summons "Alexandrite Dragon" in Attack Position (2000/100), but the effect of "Level Limit - Area B" switches it to Defense Position.

Turn 6: Tokunosuke
During Tokunosuke's Standby Phase, the count of "Wave-Motion Cannon" goes up to 2, and "Dark Snake Syndrome" inflicts 400 points of damage to both players (Yuma 3800 → 3400) (Tokunosuke 2500 → 2100). Tokunosuke activates the Spell card "Goblin Thief", inflicting 500 points of damage to Yuma's Life Points (Yuma 3400 → 2900) and increasing his own by 500 (Tokunosuke 2100 → 2600).

Turn 7: Yuma
Yuma draws and activates the Equip Spell card "Gagagarevenge", Special Summoning "Gagaga Magician" from his Graveyard (1500/1000). He Overlays the Level 4 "Gagaga Magician" and "Alexandrite Dragon" to Xyz Summon "Number 39: Utopia" (2500/2000) in Attack Position. The effect of "Gagagarevenge" activates, as the Special Summoned monster was used for an Xyz Summon, increasing the ATK of "Utopia" by 300 (Utopia: 2500 → 2800/2000). "Utopia" has a Rank instead of a Level, which means he is not affected by "Level Limit - Area B". Yuma attacks Tokunosuke directly with "Utopia" (Tokunosuke 2600 → 0).

Yuma wins.
