"Ancient" (古（いにしえ） Inishie) is an anime-exclusive series used by Solomon Muto while under the pseudonym "Apdnarg Otum". Some of the cards are also owned by Solomon's friend, Arthur Hawkins.

The series revolves around the strategy to Special Summon "Ancient Dragon" via the effect of "Ancient City" by sending "Ancient Gate", "Ancient Giant", "Ancient Key" and Ancient Gate to the Graveyard. The strategy also allows the effect of "Ancient City" to constantly Special Summon "Ancient Dragon" from the Graveyard during the End Phase of the turn it is destroyed, but only while "Ancient City" is face-up on the field.

The Rock "Ancient" monsters feature effects that inflicts effect damage to the player if they do not attack with them; however, switching the battle positions of the "Stone Giants" will activate the effect of "Ancient Key" to add "Ancient Gate" from his Deck to his hand, allowing the Summoning of "Ancient Dragon".
