Due to Luke misunderstanding, Yuga and co. end up entering the Trumpet Duet Tournament... They visit the Music Club to learn how to play an instrument, but they find the music room in darkness, and suddenly, they are attacked by someone! Then, behind Luke, who is scared more than usual for some reason, Tiadosia Kallister appears brandishing a silver bassoon!

SummaryEdit

Yuga, Gavin and Romin realize that something is wrong with Luke's "Rush Duel Tournament" entry form.

In the Student Council room at Goha #7 Elementary, Gavin explains to Yuga, Romin and Kaizo that Rayne and Rino's family went on vacation to the hot springs together, and Romin asks if this was why they didn't come to the camp. Gavin shows them a postcard of the twins at the spring, admitting he was worried something had happened to them, though the bad editing job on the twins' faces doesn't have Yuga and Romin convinced. Luke then runs in, excitedly declaring that their Rush Duel Tournament entry card is here (ignoring Romin telling him not to be so loud in the morning). But as he hands the form to his friends and begins getting hyped, they notice that it actually reads "Trumpet Duet Tournament", much to Luke's utter shock. Naturally Gavin and Romin aren't happy with his mistake as they don't even know what a trumpet duet is, and Seatbastian pops over to helpfully inform them that the Trumpet Duet Competition is where two people enter as a pair and compete while playing wind instruments, though he isn't happy that he's had to analyze something worthless again. Gavin and Romin protest that this isn't what they were asking (while Kaizo looks quite pleased to see Seatbastian being yelled at) and they point out that they don't know what to do when they were entered into a competition they know nothing about. As Seatbastian sweatdrops, Luke angrily yells at them not to panic, since that won't solve anything, something Romin admits he's right about. Seatbastian suggests that they listen to Luke's thoughts, and Luke asks them what's causing them the biggest problem right now. That proves to be the wrong question to ask, as Romin and Gavin shove the entry form in Luke's face and inform him that he is. Luke finally realizes that they've been entered into the Trumpet Duet Tournament and not the Rush Duel Tournament, and Seatbastian can only remark that he's never met anyone as slow as Luke. Romin isn't happy to learn that there was never a Rush Duel Tournament in the first place and that it was all a misunderstanding "President Nitwit" had, a remark that sparks another argument between them with Gavin trying to break it up. Yuga then spots the entry form and reads it again, and he suggests that the Trumpet Duet Tournament might be interesting, as it would be a waste to withdraw now. Gavin admits that he's already submitted a notice of entry to the school and Seatbastian agrees that it wouldn't be good for the club to have a withdrawal notice on their record. Romin asks if they have anyone who has experience with wind instruments, and Yuga suggests that she might until Romin reminds them that she plays the guitar.

In that case, they decide to ask the Music Club for help, an idea that Seatbastian praises, but as Gavin explains that the club has won quite a few competitions, Luke is backing away fearfully from the Concert Band's Clubroom, and when queried by Yuga he hesitantly says that they should turn back and it isn't too late yet. Gavin points out that they're already here, and as Romin points out, they're in this situation because of Luke to begin with. As Luke wonders what the feeling of dread swelling within his chest is and Kaizo asks what's going on with him, Yuga and Seatbastian notice that there's no sound coming from inside the Music Club. Luke calls out to Yuga in fear as he enters the darkened room, with everyone else following him nervously, but to their shock they are accosted by three karakuri. Gavin wonders if they're drones, while Yuga thinks they're training dummies, but then the karakuri approached them and Seatbastian jumps in between them and the Rush Duel Club, ordering the lower-class Drones to stop at once. But the karakuri easily swat Seatbastian aside, and Yuga barely dodges as Seatbastian collides with Kaizo and slams cross-eyed into the wall. The karakuri step towards the kids, and Luke kneels at the door and he laments that it's all over for them, because she's here. As his friends as who he means, a massive crash sounds behind Luke and a massive silver bassoon slams into the ground beside him. A teal-haired girl in a red gi angrily asks her "stupid little brother" why he came here, much to Yuga, Romin and Gavin's shock, and as Luke hesitantly calls the girl his big sister, she roars that she's told him to call her "Tiger", blowing Luke away with the sheer force of her yell. As Yuga, Romin and Gavin look at Luke in shock, the three karakuri welcome their club president back.

Yuga challenges Tiger to a Rush Duel.

After changing into her casual clothes and turning the lights on, Tiger is informed of their situation and she observes that her stupid little "bro-gias" has caused them some trouble. Luke (who is doing his best to hide behind Yuga) tells her not to call Yuga names until Romin snaps that Tiger is talking about Luke. Tiger looks at their entry form and she asks them if they understand what this competition is (while her fellow club members, having taken their masks off, hold her bassoon for her), and Yuga claims that they understand the basic gist. Tiger agrees to help, giving the form to one of her club members and then having the others deliver her bassoon to her, but she declares that they can talk after they have defeated her, spinning her bassoon as her club members flank her. She tosses down several martial arts weapons, telling Yuga to choose his weapon, and though Gavin and Romin are shocked by the Music Club having martial arts weapons, Yuga chooses his Duel Disk, suggesting that they face each other in the Rush Duels that he's created. Tiger points out that Dueling is also a martial art given that they fight one another with Decks they've put their souls into like fists and she accepts his challenge. But Luke begs Yuga not to do it, as even he can't win, much to Yuga and Gavin's shock. Luke holds up Kaizo as a shield, explaining that his sister has mastered all forms of battle in the world and Dueling is no exception. Tiger grins, remarking that some time ago a foolish gamma ray burst challenged her to a Duel but was defeated instead. Luke thinks she's calling Yuga names again, and Tiger yells that she's talking about him, blowing him and the stunned Kaizo into the wall again. Gavin and Romin realize that Tiger must be an extremely strong Duelist if she's defeated Luke before, but Yuga straps on his Duel Disk, declaring that he'll still do it.

Tiger declares that breath is the truth.

They adjourn outside, and call "Let's go! Rush Duel!" as they insert their Decks into their Duel Disks, deploying the blades and the green holographic dome. Tiger takes the first turn and draws, then examines her hand containing "Music Princess's Breath", two copies of "Trumpetonfa the Music Princesss" and two copies of "Brassaxophone the Music Princesss". She Summons the two "Brassaxophone the Music Princess", and then she Tributes them both to Tribute Summon two "Trumpetonfa the Music Princess". Tiger activates the effect of a "Trumpetonfa", sending the top card of Deck to the Graveyard to increase the ATK of a monster she controls by 100 for each Warrior Normal Monster in her Graveyard. Romin recalls that Tiger has two "Brassax Knuckles" in her Graveyard, and Kaizo notes that "Trumpetonfa" will gain 200 ATK as it powers up to 1800 ATK. Tiger then activates the effect of her second "Trumpetonfa", sending the third from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard to increase it to 1800 ATK as well. Romin wonders why Tiger is increasing her monsters' ATK when she can't attack on the first turn and Kaizo suggests that she is just showing off, but Yuga warns them that Tiger has a different goal in mind. Glowing green, Tiger declares that in search of strength she has drifted through the desert of life, fighting many battles all the while with an increasingly greedy energy swelling within her. She catches her bassoon as she declares that she arrived at the absolute and unconditional truth before blowing into the bassoon and buffeting everyone. Tiger poses with her club members, stating that the truth is breath. As Yuga asks what she means, Tiger's club members carry her bassoon away and Tiger takes a deep breath before activating the Spell Card "Music Princess's Breath", Special Summoning a Warrior monster from her Graveyard. She revives her third "Trumpetonfa" and Romin gasps that Tiger was able to Summon three Level 6 monsters on her first turn, while Gavin and Kaizo realize that Tiger wasn't after the ATK increase, but was sending cards to her Graveyard to look for monsters. As Luke trembles in fear, Tiger takes a deep breath again and activates the effect of her last "Trumpetonfa", sending the top card of her Deck to the Graveyard and increasing it to 1900 ATK this time. Yuga grits his teeth as Tiger smiles and Gavin observes Tiger's three Level 6 monsters and the three monsters in her Graveyard to increase their ATK, admitting that it's an efficient strategy. Tiger declares that at any moment the key to blasting through this arduous state of battle is in the heated strength of the lungs, and she takes another deep breath, then declares that in other words, mastering wind instruments is the final answer to every battle that will lead her to victory. Gavin hesitantly declares that's Luke's sister for them, and Romin admits she can't understand a word she's saying. Kaizo tells Seatbastian to translate, and Seatbastian explains that Tiger realized how important breathing is while pursuing martial arts, and that's why she came to the Music Club. Tiger smiles and she ends her turn, returning the ATK of her three "Trumpetonfa" to normal.

Yuga declares his turn and draws, his hand containing "Sevens Road Magician", "Curtain of Sparks", "Whispering Fairy", "Sparkhearts Girl", and "Kuribot". Gavin asks Yuga what he's going to do, and Yuga Summons "Whispering Fairy" and "Sparkhearts Girl". He sends a card from his hand to the Graveyard to activate the effect of "Whispering Fairy", and "Whispering Fairy" glows and radiates small sound waves as Yuga explains that it will return two "Brassax Knuckles" in Tiger's Graveyard to her Deck. As Tiger shuffles the two cards into her Deck, Gavin congratulates Yuga, as this will prevent "Trumpetonfa" from gaining more ATK. Yuga then sends a monster from his hand to the Graveyard to activate the effect of "Sparkhearts Girl", reducing the ATK of one "Trumpetonfa" by 500 until the end of the turn, then allowing him to Set "Curtain of Sparks" from his Graveyard. Then Yuga Tributes his two monsters to Tribute Summon, chanting "The walls, the mountains, and even the planets that block my way—! Cut open a road through them and press onward! Let's go! Sevens Road Magician!" He sends the top card of his Deck ("Dark Revelation") to the Graveyard to activate the "Elemental Road" effect of "Sevens Road Magician", and Romin recalls that it will gain 300 ATK for every different Attribute in Yuga's Graveyard, and as Gavin points out, Yuga has three (the FIRE "Sparkhearts Girl", the WIND "Whispering Fairy" and the DARK "Kuribot"). Seatbastian declares that "Sevens Road Magician" will gain 900 ATK as it powers up to 3000 ATK. Tiger observes that she and Yuga will really get along, even sharing the strategy of using monsters in their Graveyards to strengthen their fists, and Yuga orders "Sevens Road Magician" to attack "Trumpetonfa" with "Sevens Magic", destroying it with a stream of fiery magic and reducing Tiger to 2100 LP. Yuga ends his turn, returning the ATK of "Sevens Road Magician" to normal.

Once again, Tiger assembles three high-Level monsters.

Tiger declares her turn and draws five cards: "Pierce!", "Nuncharinet the Music Princess", "Ensembullfighter the Music Fiend" and two copies of "Brassax Knuckles", Summoning one "Brassaxophone" and then Tributing it and a "Trumpetonfa" to Tribute Summon, chanting "Right now, and as always, my oxygen and those kinds of things are steadily carried by my hemoglobins! Even if you tell me to stop, it's way too late!! I will only say it once. Feel it with your fighting spirit! My very breath! Ensembullfighter the Music Fiend!!" Yuga and Romin realize that this is Tiger's ace monster, and Tiger then Summons her other "Brassaxophone" and Tributes it to Tribute Summon "Nuncharinet the Music Princess", before explaining its effect; by sending the top card of her Deck to the Graveyard she can reduce the ATK of "Sevens Road Magician" by 500 for each monster she controls if the card she sends is a WIND Warrior monster. Gavin is shocked by the power of the effect, and Romin gasps that "Sevens Road Magician" will lose most of its ATK; as Kaizo points out, the match will be decided here.

But Tiger excavates another "Music Princess's Breath" and comments in amusement that it's a Spell. Seatbastian declares that Yuga is safe and Gavin, Kaizo and Romin all sigh in relief. Tiger warns them that she isn't done yet and activates the effect of "Trumpetonfa", sending the top card of her Deck to the Graveyard to increase the ATK of "Ensembullfighter". Everyone gasps in shock and Gavin recalls that Tiger has three "Brassaxophone" in her Graveyard, so it will gain 300 ATK and increase to 2500 ATK. Romin recalls that Yuga Set "Curtain of Sparks" earlier, which can reduce the ATK of a monster by 500, but Yuga notes that Tiger already knows he did that, and he declares that she'll be attacking knowing full well that he has a Trap Set. Tiger comments in amusement that their breath is alike after all, and she sends the "Pierce!" from her hand to the Graveyard to activate the effect of "Ensembullfighter", which will prevent Yuga from activating Trap Cards when her monsters attack this turn. She declares "Breath Pressure", and "Ensembullfighter", glowing with energy notes, blasts a red beam from its eye to snare Yuga's Trap in chains, Gavin and Romin gasping that "Curtain of Sparks" has been sealed. Tiger orders "Ensembullfighter" to put "Sevens Road Magician" to sleep, and as "Ensembullfighter" levels its pipes, she breathes into her bassoon, ordering it to attack with "Ensemble Strike of Eradicative Supremacy". "Ensembullfighter" blasts a concentrated stream of energy notes from its pipes, destroying "Sevens Road Magician" and reducing Yuga to 3600 LP. Tiger then orders "Trumpetonfa" to attack directly, reducing Yuga to 2000 LP, and orders her final attack; "Nuncharinet" swatting Yuga to the ground and reducing him to 400 LP. Luke gasps as Yuga hits the dirt, and Tiger reflects that Yuga would have lost if the effect of "Nuncharinet" had succeeded and she ends her turn, returning the ATK of "Ensembullfighter" to normal.

Yuga and Luke come to different conclusions about what awaits Yuga at the end of his road.

As Yuga sits up, Gavin gasps that it was such an intense attack. Tiger hands her bassoon to her club members, asking Yuga what he wants to see at the conclusion of his road. As Yuga ponders the question, Luke admits that Tiger asked him that too, remembering that he couldn't defeat her in anything as a child, but thought he might have a chance in a Duel, so he challenged her, but he lost. Tiger had asked Luke what he wished to see at the conclusion of these fights, though Luke, tears pouring down his face, hadn't had an answer. Yuga claims that since he started his road his feelings haven't changed, and Tiger asks if Yuga has found what lies beyond the fighting. Yuga confirms that he has, but then Luke interrupts Yuga, claiming that at the end of his road is the title of King of Duels, only for Yuga to state that it's smiles, much to Luke's surprise, and he can only agree before sidling out of frame, while Tiger smiles.

Yuga declares his turn and draws five cards: "Beast Summoner", three copies of "Sparks", and "Bendorbreak the Conqueror". He Summons "Beast Summoner" and then activates its effect, sending it to the Graveyard to Special Summon a monster from his hand, chanting "A graceful fluttering of your wings will crush even steel! Race through the heavens! Bendorbreak the Conqueror!" Romin and Kaizo cry that it's Yuga's new monster, but as Gavin notes it only has 1900 ATK despite being Level 7 so it won't be able to beat "Ensembullfighter". Yuga then Sets two cards, and Tiger notes that Yuga knows he can't use Traps against her, so he must be planning something else. Yuga grins and he explains that he can activate the effect of "Bendorbreak" if the number of monsters Tiger controls is the same as the number of Spells and Traps he controls. Tiger is shocked by his claim, and Yuga sends all three of his Spells and Traps - "Curtain of Sparks" and two "Sparks" - to the Graveyard to activate the "Flowing Dance of Bestial Wings" effect of "Bendorbreak the Conqueror". "Bendorbreak" keens and radiates waves of green light as Yuga explains that "Ensembullfighter" will lose 1000 ATK for each Spell or Trap that he sent to the Graveyard, and Seatbastian notes that "Ensembullfighter" will lose 3000 ATK as Yuga sent three Spell and Traps to the Graveyard, while Romin happily observes that the ATK of "Ensembullfighter" has been reduced to zero. Yuga then activates the Spell Card "Sparks", inflicting 200 damage to Tiger and reducing her to 1900 LP as she chuckles that Yuga still had a Spell in his hand. Yuga tells "Bendorbreak the Conqueror" to finish this, and it gallops forwards and through "Ensembullfighter", destroying it with "The Mighty King's Wave of Imperial Wrath", slamming into Tiger.

Tiger discusses seeing Luke and Yuga's Rush Duel.

As she promised, Tiger teaches the Rush Duel Club how to play wind instruments.

Yuga then sees himself and Tiger standing atop mountain peaks, and Tiger admits that she was a little worried after her stupid little brother lost to her in a Duel (while Yuga freaks out and tries to keep his balance). But when she saw Luke Rush Dueling Yuga at school from a nearby rooftop, he looked as though he was really having fun, and she hadn't seen him like that in a long time. She muses on the notion that smiles lie beyond the fighting, and admits that if it's Yuga, then she thinks he'll definitely be able to do it. Then the attack of "Bendorbreak" hits, blasting Tiger off her feet and reducing her LP to zero.

Luke gasps in shock from his perch atop Seatbastian, and he cries that Yuga beat his big sister and congratulates him, crying that Yuga is really amazing as Yuga gives Tiger a hand up. Luke crows that this is Yuga's power, and because he's beaten Yuga this means he's also beaten his big sister - and Tiger angrily yells that she's told him to call her Tiger, blasting Luke into the wall. As Yuga, Romin and Gavin look in shock at their friend, Tiger declares that she will instruct them in the ways of wind instruments as she promised, and she has the four of them (as well as Kaizo and her fellow club members) practice their breathing with recorders while she sits on Seatbastian, warning them that they won't get a break and practicing well into the evening.

Featured Duel: Yuga Ohdo vs Tiadosia "Tiger" KallisterEdit

The Duel is conducted as a Rush Duel.

Turn 1: Tiger
Tiger's hand contains "Music Princess's Breath‎", two copies of "Trumpetonfa the Music Princess‎" and two copies of "Brassaxophone the Music Princess‎". Tiger Normal Summons two copies of "Brassaxophone the Music Princess‎" (1000/1200). Tiger Tributes both copies of "Brassaxophone" to Tribute Summon two copies of "Trumpetonfa the Music Princess‎" (1600/1000). As she has a Warrior Type Normal Monster in her Graveyard, Tiger activates the effect of her first "Trumpetonfa", sending a card from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard to choose one monster she controls and have it gain 100 ATK for each Warrior Type Normal Monster in her Graveyard until the end of the turn. She sends an unknown card from her Deck to the Graveyard, chooses her first "Trumpetonfa", and has two "Brassaxophone" in her Graveyard ("Trumpetonfa": 1600/1000 → 1800/1000). As she has a Warrior Type Normal Monster in her Graveyard, Tiger activates the effect of her second "Trumpetonfa", sending a card from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard to choose one monster she controls and have it gain 100 ATK for each Warrior Type Normal Monster in her Graveyard until the end of the turn. She sends her third "Trumpetonfa" from her Deck to the Graveyard, chooses her second "Trumpetonfa", and has two "Brassaxophone" in her Graveyard ("Trumpetonfa": 1600/1000 → 1800/1000). As she controls two WIND Attribute Warrior Type monsters, Tiger activates the Spell Card "Music Princess's Breath‎", Special Summoning a Level 6 or lower Warrior Type monster from her Graveyard, but it cannot attack directly this turn. She Special Summons her third "Trumpetonfa" (1600/1000). As she has a Warrior Type Normal Monster in her Graveyard, Tiger activates the effect of her third "Trumpetonfa", sending a card from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard to choose one monster she controls and have it gain 100 ATK for each Warrior Type Normal Monster in her Graveyard until the end of the turn. She sends her third "Brassaxophone" from her Deck to the Graveyard, chooses her third "Trumpetonfa", and has three "Brassaxophone" in her Graveyard ("Trumpetonfa": 1600/1000 → 1900/1000).

Turn 2: Yuga
Yuga's hand contains "Sevens Road Magician", "Curtain of Sparks", "Whispering Fairy", "Sparkhearts Girl", and "Kuribot". Yuga Normal Summons "Whispering Fairy" (800/1200) and "Sparkhearts Girl" (800/1200). Yuga activates the effect of "Whispering Fairy", sending a card from his hand to the Graveyard to choose up to two monsters in Tiger's Graveyard and shuffle them into her Deck. He sends "Curtain of Sparks" from his hand to the Graveyard and shuffles two copies of "Brassaxophone" into Tiger's Deck. Yuga activates the effect of "Sparkhearts Girl", sending a Level 4 or lower monster from his hand to the Graveyard to choose a monster Tiger controls and reduce its ATK by 500, then Yuga can choose up to one copy each of "Sparks" and/or of "Curtain of Sparks" in his Graveyard and Set them to his field. Yuga sends "Kuribot" to the Graveyard and chooses one of Tiger's "Trumpetonfa" ("Trumpetonfa": 1600/1000 → 1100/1000), then Sets "Curtain of Sparks" from his Graveyard. Yuga Tributes "Whispering Fairy" and "Sparkhearts Girl" to Tribute Summon "Sevens Road Magician" (2100/1500). Yuga activates the effect of "Sevens Road Magician", sending the top card of his Deck to the Graveyard to have it gain 300 ATK for each monster with a different Attribute in his Graveyard. He sends "Dark Revelation" from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard, so there are three monsters with different Attributes in his Graveyard ("Sevens Road Magician": 2100/1500 → 3000/1500). "Sevens Road Magician" attacks and destroys the 1100 ATK "Trumpetonfa" (Tiger: 4000 → 2100 LP).

Turn 3: Tiger
Tiger draws "Pierce!", "Nuncharinet the Music Princess", "Ensembullfighter the Music Fiend" and two copies of "Brassaxophone the Music Princess‎". Tiger Normal Summons "Brassaxophone" (1600/1000). Tiger Tributes "Brassaxophone" and a "Trumpetonfa" to Tribute Summon "Ensembullfighter the Music Fiend" (2200/2200). Tiger Normal Summons "Brassaxophone" (1600/1000). Tiger Tributes "Brassaxophone" to Tribute Summon "Nuncharinet the Music Princess" (1600/500). As her opponent controls a Level 7 or higher monster, Tiger activates the effect of "Nuncharinet", sending the top card of her Deck to the Graveyard, and if it is a WIND Attribute Warrior Type monster, then one monster Yuga controls will lose 500 ATK for each WIND Attribute Warrior Type monster she controls. She sends "Music Princess's Breath‎", so "Sevens Road Magician" does not lose ATK. As she has a Warrior Type Normal Monster in her Graveyard, Tiger activates the effect of "Trumpetonfa", sending a card from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard to choose one monster she controls and have it gain 100 ATK for each Warrior Type Normal Monster in her Graveyard until the end of the turn. She sends an unknown card from her Deck to the Graveyard, chooses "Ensembullfighter", and has three "Brassaxophone" in her Graveyard ("Ensembullfighter": 2200/2200 → 2500/2200). Tiger activates the effect of "Ensembullfighter", sending a card from her hand to the Graveyard to prevent Yuga from activating Trap Cards this turn when her WIND Attribute Warrior Type monsters attack while "Ensembullfighter" is face-up. She sends "Pierce!" from her hand to the Graveyard. "Ensembullfighter" attacks and destroys "Sevens Road Magician" (Yuga: 4000 → 3600 LP). "Trumpetonfa" and "Nuncharinet" attack Yuga directly (Yuga: 3600 → 2000 → 400 LP).

Turn 4: Yuga
Yuga draws "Beast Summoner", three copies of "Sparks", and "Bendorbreak the Conqueror". Yuga Normal Summons "Beast Summoner" (900/700). As Tiger controls a Level 6 or higher monster, Yuga activates the effect of "Beast Summoner", sending it to the Graveyard to Special Summon a Level 7 or lower Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast Type monster from his hand. He Special Summons "Bendorbreak the Conqueror" (1900/2500) in Attack Position. Yuga Sets two cards. As the number of monsters Tiger controls and the number of Spell/Trap Cards Yuga controls is the same, Yuga activates the effect of "Bendorbreak", sending up to three Spell/Trap Cards he controls to the Graveyard to choose a monster Tiger controls and have it lose 1000 ATK/DEF for each card sent to the Graveyard until the end of the turn. Yuga sends his two Set "Sparks" and his Set "Curtain of Sparks" to the Graveyard and chooses "Ensembullfighter" ("Ensembullfighter": 2200/2200 → 0/0). Yuga activates his third copy of "Sparks", inflicting 200 damage to Tiger (Tiger: 2100 → 1900 LP). "Bendorbreak" attacks and destroys "Ensembullfighter" (Tiger: 1900 → 0 LP).
