SummaryEdit

The kids uncover a prototype Duel Disk.

With Tracker in the lead and sniffing their path, Yuga, Luke, Romin, Kaizo, Gavin, Rayne and Rino continue down the torchlit underground hallways and emerge into a darker cavern - and Tracker topples over the edge of the ledge, with Yuga only just grabbing him and Luke barely seizing Yuga's ankle as well, though fortunately Tracker is only centimeters off the ground. The group look around the cavern, with Kaizo lighting the area, and Luke muses that it's a dead end, though Romin notes the air is different here. Yuga asks Tracker what he thinks, and the Goha #2 Elementary student responds with a sneeze; and to their joy, the sneeze has uncovered a series of card zones arranged on a metal plate. Yuga uncovers it excitedly, and he states that it's just as Nail said, while Gavin realizes that this must be one of the prototype Duel Disks that Goha Enterprises discarded (a square Duel Disk, as Luke points out). Rino and Rayne celebrate finally finding the secret of the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club, and Yuga agrees that Asana and her club must have obtained their Maximum Monsters from these Duel Disks. Romin and Luke realize that these Duel Disks all potentially contain Maximum Monsters, and Yuga agrees as he looks back at the prototype Duel Disk in his hands.

Nail repairs Seatbastian as he explains what happened.

As the group spread out to look, Luke bemoans that the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club had this amazing place all to themselves and he quickly ropes Tracker into looking for more, though Tracker protests that he can't just sneeze on command, so Luke tickles his nose. Rayne and Rino ask Gavin if it isn't strange to think that a Maximum would be inside one of these Duel Disks, and Gavin recalls that Nail said something about that as well. Yuga agrees, recalling what Nail told him about the day he installed Rush Dueling, and at his Nexus, Nail is busy repairing Seatbastian and recounting the same tale; Yuga's installation caused an intense load to surge through Goha's systems and the Gohanium abundant throughout the city to react, including the discarded Duel Disks. Seatbastian asks if the same thing happened when Nail installed Maximum Summoning, and Nail confirms that it does as Seatbastian, fully repaired, is returned to his upright position. It wouldn't be far-fetched to assume the prototype Duel Disks also received the update. Back in the mine, Rino and Rayne realize that this led to the Maximum Monsters being crafted inside the prototype Duel Disks, and in Nexus, Seatbastian recalls that Nail used the Top of the Hexagon Duel ID cards to create "Yggdrago the Sky Emperor", while in the mine, Gavin notes that Yuga used his, Luke's, and Romin's IDs to create "Supreme Machine Magnum Overlord", and Yuga notes that Asana must have created her Maximum from the IDs in the prototype Duel Disks.

Asana's voice confirms that she did, and she approaches them on a ledge while riding R6, confirming that she excavated them with R6, as Galian, Schubel, Pidgetrap, Caterpillio and six Heavy Cavalry Duel Club students flank her. She congratulates Yuga on deducing what happened, and Galian and Schubel try to shush her again, but she snaps at them to stand down and they spring back into line as she states that these secrets are no longer secrets. Luke angrily warns Asana that he won't forgive them for keeping this place to themselves, but then he politely asks if he can return sometime, much to Romin's disgust. But Asana explains that he's got it wrong, as the ID cards in these Duel Disks are greatly unstable and have decayed over time, so the probability of them surviving a rewrite is very low and it was a miracle that they were even able to find three stable cards in the first place. Back in Nexus, Nail continues to touch up Seatbastian as he recalls using the ID cards of the Tops of the Hexagon to create "Yggdrago", though Number 3 and Number 5's ID cards were rejected by the Duel Disk, so it seems that some Duel ID cards just can't be used for Maximums, and even after his second Duel with Yuga, his "Magnum Overlord" cards reverted back into ID cards on their own. In the mine, Luke angrily asks if Asana thinks he would fall for that and accuses her of wanting to keep the treasure here for herself, and then he humbly asks to be friends, prompting everyone else to sweatdrop.

Asana creating "Wyrm Excavator".

Asana suggests that Yuga try using the ID card inside the prototype Disk they're holding, and Yuga plugs his own Duel Disk into it, switching it to active mode and ejecting the ID card, but as soon as he touches the card, it turns black and shreds into light. Asana asks if they understand now, explaining that they diligently excavated the Duel Disks here and studied them one by one until they finally obtained three cards stable enough to create "Wyrm Excavator the Heavy Cavalry Draco". It was a task that would have been impossible for most people, and they were only able to do so with their Heavy Cavalry and tenacious club. She stands up on R6 and challenges Yuga to another Rush Duel, much to his, Romin and Luke's surprise, explaining that she'll honor her original promise if he wins and allow everyone in Goha #6 Elementary to Rush Duel freely. Romin asks what will happen if Asana wins, and Asana explains that Rush Duels will be banned in all elementary schools in Goha City, beginning with Goha #7 Elementary, much to everyone's shock. Romin protests that Asana can't put a condition like that on the Duel, but Asana comments that Yuga can't refuse, and he accepts her challenge, much to Luke's surprise. Yuga explains that this isn't a Duel that he can avoid, and he makes his way up to a ledge opposite the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club, while Asana and R6 move up to face him. Asana asks R6 to fight with her for just a little longer, and it rumbles affirmatively, reminding Yuga to ask Asana why she wants to crush Rush Dueling so badly. Asana takes off her helmet and gives it to Caterpillio, reminding Yuga that the old traditions are precious and anything that modifies them is improper. Yuga asks if Asana doesn't have other reasons, much to her surprise and that of Galian, Schubel and Pidgetrap, but Asana insists that there's been enough talking. Yuga grins and calls "Let's go!" while Asana declares that she will move onward in accordance with the Heavy Cavalry Way, leaping up on R6's seat as it raises its bucket and deploys her Duel Disk, and they both call "Rush Duel!", inserting their Decks into their Duel Disks and deploying the blade of Yuga's, while compressing Asana's and deploying R6's Solid Vision projectors.

Yuga Sets all the cards in his hand.

Yuga declares his turn and draws, his hand containing "Mismatched Rivalry", "High Magic - Double Acceleration", "Trick Guard", "Straynge Cat", and "Amazing Dealer". He Sets the two monsters, and then the other three cards in his hand, and Asana notes that Yuga is being cautious. Yuga points out that he needs to be, and he challenges Asana to bring out her Maximum, "Wyrm Excavator", before ending his turn. Galian and Schubel gasp as Asana asks in confusion if Yuga is provoking her despite knowing full well that she has a Maximum, and she admits that this will be fun.

"Straynge Cat" is dug up.

She declares her turn, and Galian and Schubel declare the start of her engines, Pidgetrap chirping in agreement, and Asana declares her draw. Examining her hand, which contains "Wyrm Excavator the Heavy Cavalry Draco [L]", "Wyrm Excavator the Heavy Cavalry Draco [R]", "Constructor Sword Foreman", "Constructor Ambush", and Peaks of Blisstopia", Asana activates the Field Spell Card "Peaks of Blisstopia", causing a pink wave to radiate from her Duel Disk and change the mine's scenery into the mountaintops of "Blisstopia". Asana Sets a card, then she activates the Spell Card "Constructor Sword Foreman", allowing her to dig up one of Yuga's face-down monsters. Poor "Straynge Cat" is flipped up into Attack Position, and as it was a Normal Monster, Asana can draw a card - "Wyrm Excavator the Heavy Cavalry Draco". Galian, Schubel and Pidgetrap all celebrate her draw, while Rino asks in shock if she's already drawn the three cards that she needs and Luke warns them that it's coming. Asana chanting "Awaken! With the soul of the Heavy Cavalry! Cry! Resound! O black steel dragon! Maximum Summon! Demolish mountains and spread the Heavy Cavalry Way all over the world! Come forth! Wyrm Excavator the Heavy Cavalry Draco!"

Asana powers up "Wyrm Excavator".

As "Wyrm Excavator" looms over them with 3500 MAXIMUM ATK, Galian and Schubel declare the Maximum Summon complete and confirmed, Pidgetrap chirping in agreement, while Gavin and Luke are still unnerved by the Maximum Monster's massive size. Asana adds that "Blisstopia" increases the ATK of "Wyrm Excavator" by 400, and "Wyrm Excavator" glows pink as it powers up to 3900 MAXIMUM ATK; Galian and Schubel confirming the ATK increase (with Pidgetrap chirping in agreement). Asana then activates the effect of "Wyrm Excavator", returning a card ("Constructor Sword Foreman") from her Graveyard to her Deck to destroy a Spell or Trap Yuga controls and draw a card. She destroys his Set "High Magic - Double Acceleration" and draws, reminding Yuga that the Continuous Effect of "Wyrm Excavator" increases its ATK by 300 for each card in her hand, and with one, it powers up to 4200 MAXIMUM ATK. Yuga can only gasp in shock as Asana declares her Battle Phase, ordering "Wyrm Excavator" to attack with "Infinite Grand Crush". As "Wyrm Excavator" brings down its bucket wheels, Romin and Gavin protest that Yuga will lose if he takes the 4200 damage, but Luke insists that Yuga understands the strength of Asana's Maximum and won't let this happen. Sure enough, Yuga grins and activates his Set "Trick Guard", reducing the battle damage to zero by sending "Aqua Sorcerer" from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard. As "Straynge Cat" shatters under the attack, Asana flinches in surprise at Yuga's survival, but then she smiles and confirms the destruction of his monster, as do Galian and Schubel (and Pidgetrap), while Kaizo praises Yuga's efforts and Gavin gasps that he survived the attack of Asana's Maximum. Schubel insists that even if Yuga survived this turn, his resistance is futile as long as Asana has "Wyrm Excavator", and Asana ends her turn.

Kaizo is revealed to be holding "Yggdrago".

Yuga declares his turn and draws "Attribute Shift Bomb", "Silent Learning", "Kuribot", "Sevens Road Magician", and "Magical Switch". As he examines his hand, Asana suggests that they have some fun, as his preparation against her Maximum surely couldn't have been just some Spells and Traps - so she urges him to Summon his own Maximum, much to the shock of Yuga, Gavin, Romin, Luke, Schubel and Galian. Asana notes that Yuga lost "Magnum Overlord" after the last time he fought a Maximum, so now the only Maximums in existence are her "Wyrm Excavator" and Nail Saionji's "Yggdrago" - and Yuga sent Kaizo to Nail to ask for "Yggdrago", didn't he? Kaizo gasps in shock at being found out, as does everyone watching, and Schubel asks why Asana is Dueling when she already knew about this. Asana asks what fun there would be in Dueling if she just had the overwhelming advantage from the start; she wants to fight fair and square as per the Heavy Cavalry Way, and Yuga praises her for being able to see so far ahead. Asana urges Yuga to Summon "Yggdrago", and Kaizo nervously hovers beside Yuga as he explains that he won't use it, much to Asana's shock, and Kaizo takes out the three "Yggdrago" cards.

Yuga explains that he considered it, but he decided not to, and Kaizo ruefully remarks that he went through so much trouble (remembering begging for the cards even though Nail handed them over with a smile and no argument). Galian and Schubel are shocked that Yuga is refusing to use a monster as strong as "Yggdrago", while Asana regretfully notes that she held an overwhelming advantage against Yuga in their last Rush Duel and she regretted how it went against the Heavy Cavalry Way, but she thought that this time she could fight Yuga equally. She clenches her fist in disappointment, something that Galian picks up on, and Asana whispers that she thought Yuga would use a Maximum for sure even if she wasn't sure how he would obtain one and she's disappointed that he didn't take that chance, however small it was.

Yuga and his friends removed Duel ID cards from the Duel Disks before Asana arrived.

But Yuga asks when he said that he wouldn't use a Maximum, much to Asana's surprise. As Kaizo floats away, Yuga states that he chose not to bet on the small chance with "Yggdrago" because he chose to bet on an even smaller chance, an even more exciting possibility. Right on cue, Tracker's backpack bursts open, dropping three prototype Duel Disks on the ground, much to the shock of the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club. As Schubel gasps that there's three of them, Galian asks in shock if Yuga was able to excavate three Duel Disks by the time they arrived, something Schubel calls impossible. Luke grins and tells them not to underestimate Tracker's sneezcavation powers (though Tracker still isn't big on the name). Asana is amazed that Yuga already had three working ID cards by the time they arrived, so will he use a Maximum after all? Yuga points out that it's just as Asana said, but they don't know yet, though Asana, Romin and Gavin all note that the possibility is there. Luke cheers Yuga on, and Yuga Sets a card, then Flip Summons his "Amazing Dealer" before paying 300 LP to activate its effect. His LP falls to 3700 as he explains that he can send three cards from his hand to the Graveyard to draw three cards, discarding "Silent Learning", "Kuribot", and "Sevens Road Magician" and preparing to draw, stating that even if his odds are infinitesimal, he will never give up on his road, and he'll bet it all on this draw. Asana takes back what she said, declaring that Yuga is making her heart dance with excitement just as she thought. Yuga's Duel Disk glows as he draws the three cards - the three ID cards, all morphing into "Supreme Machine Magnum Overlord [L]", "Supreme Machine Magnum Overlord [R]", and "Supreme Machine Magnum Overlord".

"Magnum Overlord" absorbs energy from "Wyrm Excavator".

He cheers, and Asana is ecstatic that Yuga has drawn his Maximum. His friends cheer as Yuga sends "Amazing Dealer" from his field to the Graveyard, then chants "The hesitation, the pain, and even the despair that block my way—!" "With dreams!" Romin and Rayne call. "And courage!" Gavin and Rino call. "And friendship!" Luke and Tracker call. "Cut open a road through them and revive!" they all chant. Yuga declares his Maximum Summon, and "Magnum Overlord", "Magnum Overlord [L]" and "Magnum Overlord [R]" all emerge, combining and transforming into their full form as Yuga chants "Come on out! Supreme Machine Magnum Overlord!" "Magnum Overlord" brandishes its weapons as it faces off against "Wyrm Excavator" with its 3500 MAXIMUM ATK. Luke cheers that "Magnum Overlord" has returned, while Romin comments that it's been a long time and Gavin gasps that it's as big as ever. Asana tells Yuga to show her what he's got, show her just how much strength his Maximum has. Yuga replies that even if he has lower LP, he can turn that difference into strength, sending "Attribute Shift Bomb" from his hand to his Graveyard to activate the "Maximum Charge" effect of "Magnum Overlord", increasing its ATK by the difference in their LP until the end of the turn as his LP are lower than Asana's. "Magnum Overlord" draws its sword across its shield and powers up to 3800 MAXIMUM ATK. Romin cheers the ATK increase, and Yuga then sends the top card on his Deck ("Sieth, the Scabbard of Noble Arms") to the Graveyard to activate the "Reflection Charge" effect of "Magnum Overlord". Asana gasps as light spreads down the lines on "Magnum Overlord's" wings and Yuga explains that "Magnum Overlord" will gain 200 ATK times the Level of "Wyrm Excavator". Rayne cheers that "Wyrm Excavator" is Level 10, and Rino adds that "Magnum Overlord" will gain 2000 ATK. "Magnum Overlord" powers up to 5800 MAXIMUM ATK as Galian and Schubel repeat the ATK increase in shock, and Yuga vows that he will give this his all. Schubel cries Asana's title, but Asana reassures him that it's fine and he and Galian snap to attention. Luke cheers that it's over for Asana's Maximum and he encourages Yuga on, and Yuga orders "Magnum Overlord" to attack "Wyrm Excavator" with "Shocking Maximum-Burst Road Slash", which extends a blast of blue energy from its sword.

The ATK of "Magnum Overlord" and "Wyrm Excavator" becomes equal.

And Asana activates a Trap Card, "Constructor Ambush". Yuga gasps as Asana explains that she can reduce the ATK of "Magnum Overlord" by the ATK of a monster she sends from her hand to the Graveyard, and she sends the 1900 ATK "Constructor Battler Big Roller" to the Graveyard. "Magnum Overlord" falls to 3900 MAXIMUM ATK, Luke gasping the ATK reduction in disbelief, though as Schubel notes, Asana now has no cards in her hand, so "Wyrm Excavator" loses 300 ATK, falling to 3900 MAXIMUM ATK as well. Tracker cries that now "Magnum Overlord" and "Wyrm Excavator" have the same ATK, and Romin and Gavin are shocked that Asana lowered the ATK of her own Maximum to reduce the ATK of her opponent. Schubel gasps Asana's title in admiration, and Galian declares his admiration of her spirit, and Asana grins and comments that it looks like she just made it, while even Yuga is impressed. "Magnum Overlord" brings its sword down, clashing with "Wyrm Excavator's" bucket wheels, and shockwaves radiate from them. Yuga's friends brace themselves, Luke noting that the two monsters will destroy one another, but Tracker notices "Wyrm Excavator's" hologram beginning to glitch and points it out. The Heavy Cavalry Duel Club see the impact and gasp in shock, but Pidgetrap spots something and flies towards Asana's Duel Disk, chirping frantically.

"Wyrm Excavator" begins to disintegrate.

Asana looks back at her Duel Disk and she gasps in shock - "Wyrm Excavator [L]", "Wyrm Excavator" and "Wyrm Excavator [R]" are disintegrating on her Duel Disk. Schubel can only gasp "What?!" and Galian asks if the Maximum cards have reached their limit. But then a panel bursts on R6, something Caterpillio takes notice of, but Asana is still distracted by her Maximum cards choosing now to disintegrate. Romin asks what happens if the cards are destroyed, and Gavin explains that "Magnum Overlord" will be treated as having won the battle, and Asana will take 3900 damage. Tracker celebrates, but Luke grimly notes that it's not that simple, and when Romin and Gavin ask what he means, they look up at "Magnum Overlord" to see it glitching as "Wyrm Excavator" is. Yuga gasps his monster's name and looks at the cards on his Duel Disk, which are slowly blackening as well. Ranze and Romin gasp that it can't be, and Gavin grimly admits that it shouldn't be any surprise, as Yuga's Maximum is made from the cards that were excavated here as well, so they're both in the same boat. As Yuga and Asana watch their cards fragment before them, Rayne, Rino, Galian, Schubel and Luke realize that the Maximum who disappears first will lose. The two Maximum Monsters continue to clash and shake, Yuga begging "Magnum Overlord" to hold on and Asana begging "Wyrm Excavator" to endure, and everyone can only watch as the battle continues...

Featured Duel: Yuga Ohdo vs Asana MutsubaEdit

The Duel is conducted as a Rush Duel.

Turn 1: Yuga
Yuga's hand contains "Mismatched Rivalry", "High Magic - Double Acceleration", "Trick Guard", "Straynge Cat", and "Amazing Dealer". Yuga Sets two monsters and three cards.

Turn 2: Asana
Asana's hand contains "Wyrm Excavator the Heavy Cavalry Draco [L]", "Wyrm Excavator the Heavy Cavalry Draco [R]", "Constructor Sword Foreman", "Constructor Ambush", and "Peaks of Blisstopia". Asana activates the Field Spell Card "Peaks of Blisstopia". The effect of "Peaks of Blisstopia" increases the ATK of all Wyrm Type monsters by 400 and decreases their DEF by 400. Asana Sets a card. As there is a Field Spell Card on the field, Asana activates the Spell Card "Constructor Sword Foreman", choosing a Defense Position monster Yuga controls and changing it to Attack Position, and if she changes a Normal Monster to Attack Position with this effect, she can draw a card. She changes Yuga's Set "Straynge Cat" (0/1400) to Attack Position, then draws "Wyrm Excavator the Heavy Cavalry Draco". Asana Maximum Summons "Wyrm Excavator", "Wyrm Excavator [L]", and "Wyrm Excavator [R]", entering Maximum Mode (3500 → 3900 MAXIMUM ATK). As "Wyrm Excavator" is in Maximum Mode, Asana activates the effect of "Wyrm Excavator [R]", placing a card from her Graveyard on the bottom of her Deck to destroy a Spell/Trap Card on the field and draw a card, and if she destroys a Field Spell Card with this effect, she can draw an additional card. Asana places "Constructor Sword Foreman" from her Graveyard on the bottom of her Deck and destroys Yuga's Set "High Magic - Double Acceleration", then draws one card. As "Wyrm Excavator" is in Maximum Mode, the effect of "Wyrm Excavator [L]" increases its ATK by 300 for each card in Asana's hand ("Wyrm Excavator": 3900 → 4200 ATK). "Wyrm Excavator" attacks "Straynge Cat", but as a monster Asana controls declared an attack while Yuga controls a monster with 0 ATK, Yuga activates his Set Trap Card "Trick Guard", sending the top card of his Deck to the Graveyard to make any battle damage he would take from that battle become 0. He sends "Aqua Sorcerer" from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard, and the attack continues and "Straynge Cat" is destroyed, but due to the effect of "Trick Guard", Yuga takes no battle damage.

Turn 3: Yuga
Yuga draws "Attribute Shift Bomb", "Silent Learning", "Kuribot", "Sevens Road Magician", and "Magical Switch". Yuga Sets a card. Yuga Flip Summons "Amazing Dealer" (0/1000). As there are less than three monsters in his Graveyard, Yuga activates the effect of "Amazing Dealer", paying 300 LP (Yuga: 4000 → 3700 LP) to send three cards from his hand to the Graveyard, then draw three cards. Yuga sends "Silent Learning", "Kuribot", and "Sevens Road Magician" from his hand to the Graveyard, then draws "Supreme Machine Magnum Overlord [L]", "Supreme Machine Magnum Overlord", and "Supreme Machine Magnum Overlord [R]". Yuga sends "Amazing Dealer" to the Graveyard and Maximum Summons "Magnum Overlord", "Magnum Overlord [L]", and "Magnum Overlord [R]", entering Maximum Mode (3500 MAXIMUM ATK). As "Magnum Overlord" is in Maximum Mode and Yuga's LP are lower than Asana's, Yuga activates the effect of "Magnum Overlord [L]", sending a card from his hand to the Graveyard to have it gain ATK equal to the difference in both players' LP until the end of this turn. Yuga sends "Attribute Shift Bomb" from his hand to the Graveyard ("Magnum Overlord": 3500 → 3800 ATK). As "Magnum Overlord" is in Maximum Mode, Yuga activates the effect of "Magnum Overlord [R]", sending the top card of his Deck to the Graveyard to choose a face-up monster Asana controls and have "Magnum Overlord" gain ATK equal to that monster's Level x 200. He sends "Sieth, the Scabbard of Noble Arms" from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard and chooses the Level 10 "Wyrm Excavator" ("Magnum Overlord": 3800 → 5800 ATK). "Magnum Overlord" attacks "Wyrm Excavator", but since a monster Yuga controls targeted a Wyrm Type monster Asana controls for an attack, Asana activates her Set Trap Card "Constructor Ambush", sending a Level 6 or lower Wyrm Type monster from her hand to the Graveyard to decrease the ATK of the attacking monster by the ATK of the monster sent to the Graveyard. She sends "Constructor Battler Big Roller" (1900/600) from her hand to the Graveyard ("Magnum Overlord": 5800 → 3900 ATK) ("Wyrm Excavator": 4200 → 3900 ATK). At this point, the Duel ID cards both monsters were made from begin to disintegrate. If the attack continues, both monsters will be destroyed in a double KO. However, if one disintegrates before the other, the surviving monster will remain on the field; if the surviving monster is "Magnum Overlord", its attack will become a direct attack instead.

Duel continues in the next episode.
