"I Quit!", known as "Give Me Jam ♪" in the Japanese version, is the fortieth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS anime. It first aired in Japan on March 13, 2021.

Princess G is retiring!! It seems that for acknowledging Rush Duels, Princess G is getting dismissed by her employer, Goha Music... When Romin discovers this news, she declares she will quit Rush Dueling, and that Yuga will be the opponent in her last match! "This is my last gig!"

Summary

Princess G points out that Goha's planned promotion won't do anything about Rush Dueling.

At the Goha Enterprises Main Office, Goha's secretary declares that the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club have failed and the influence of Rush Dueling has expanded even more, so they must take countermeasures immediately. One executive believes they should maintain the crisis with a sense of urgency, but a stockier executive blames the Headquarters' lack of action and another blames the loss of the Top of the Hexagon and suggests holding an election to replace them, while the only other woman in the room is too hungry to think and suggests ordering takeout. Under the President Drone, Mimi isn't impressed with any of them. An executive from Goha Music suggests promoting Goha Duels all over the world at the expense of Rush Duels, but the cringeworthy concept they show tests Mimi's patience, though before she can explode at them they add that they'll have their most popular artist sing the main song; Princess G, who they bring up through the floor. The executive proudly declares his plan to have her singing live throughout Goha City on the Goha Duel Truck, only to be informed by Princess G that she's a guitarist, not a singer. The Goha Music executive frantically calls her "Puri-chan" and tries to get her to agree, but Princess G asks if they think their promotion would actually do anything about Rush Dueling, much to Mimi's interest. Princess G points out that there must be something about Rush Dueling that has moved the hearts of the children of the city, and nothing an adult says will change that, so why shouldn't they believe in their potential? The very idea shocks the executives, the Goha Music executive protesting that the image of Goha is at stake, but when Princess G points out that she loves Rush Dueling as well, the executive take it as treason and promptly fires her. Mimi watches Princess G go, and once she's outside the building, Princess G gets on her motorcycle and drives away.

Romin learns about Princess G's retirement.

Meanwhile, Gavin, Rino, and Rayne have finally returned to the Student Council at Goha #7 Elementary and are shocked to find it utterly filthy and covered in plants while they were at Goha #6 Elementary. Gavin laments that the Student Council is unable to function without him and Rino suggests they clean it up as quickly as they can, though Rayne takes a while to agree. The Rush Duel Club is also in disarray, with Yuga and Luke weeding out plants, but Romin is also distracted, having just read that Princess G is retiring. Luke remembers her from Itamae's Case Files: The Serial Sushi Murder Case, and an annoyed Romin explains that she's a world-famous guitarist, holding up her phone to show Luke the article she's reading, announcing the shocking dismissal of Princess G from Goha Music Entertainment, while Gavin comes over to note that she might be retiring from the music industry as a whole. Romin angrily asks what Yuga will do about this, explaining that Princess G might be retiring because of Rush Dueling, though Yuga points out that Goha are really responsible and Princess G won't stop doing what she loves, just like Rush Duels. Romin gets what he means, but still runs off in a huff, despite Gavin's pleas for her not to run in the hall (which are met with a satchel dropping from above on his face).

Gwendoline Purdy introduces herself to Yuga, Romin and Mimi's class.

An annoyed Romin stalks through the corridor, thinking that she knows Rush Duels aren't really responsible, but wonders why Princess G did this, only to bump into a bespectacled young woman in a blue suit. The woman apologizes and recognizes Romin, and turns out to be student teacher Gwendoline Purdy, who will be with Yuga, Romin, Mimi, Ricky and Katz's class for a week, but hopes they will have fun...and immediately faceplants into a desk. Despite her injury, she vows not to give up, and even takes part in the girl's volleyball game, with mixed results Gavin comes over to see the new student teacher, admitting that she seems interesting and fun, though Kaizo is more concerned with the despondent Romin, who is sitting on the steps and looking at her Deck with her "Prima Guitarna the Shining Superstar" card on the top. Luke also wanders over, and he immediately declares that Gwendoline is Princess G, comparing the way she holds a racket to how she held a tuna on Itamae's Case Files, though Yuga, Gavin and Romin are all skeptical. Romin thinks back to her childhood, where she was bad with people and a total shut-in as she watched Roa on stage, but Princess G changed her from someone only wanting to endure to someone wanting to shine. She gave Romin courage, and Romin always dreamed of having a jam session with Princess G, but now that's no longer possible.

Gwendoline helps Romin up.

To Yuga, Luke and Gavin's shock, Romin announces that she's quitting Rush Duels (a statement that Gwendoline hears before being hit on the head with a volleyball and keeling over). Romin vows to no longer play Rush Dueling for taking Princess G from her, despite Gavin and Luke's requests for her to endure and rethink her decision, but Yuga casually agrees with her, pointing out that it's Romin's decision and Rush Dueling isn't something to force on people. Romin isn't happy that Yuga of all people is saying that, but before they can argue further Gwendoline calls to them to watch out as a volleyball sails towards them. Kaizo tries to defend Romin, but Gwendoline spirals towards them announcing her "Princess Grand Rolling Princess" and punching Kaizo away as she intercepts the volleyball with her face, scattering Romin's Deck everywhere. Gwendoline totters for a bit and apologizes to Romin before helping to pick up her cards, though Romin snatches away "Prima Guitarna" before Gwendoline can pick it up. Gwendoline notes that it seems like an important card to Romin, though Romin notes that it isn't much use now. Gwendoline helps Romin up and returns her Deck to her, telling her that she shouldn't give up on things that she loves before being called back over by the other students (and pratfalling on the way). Despite the statement, Romin is still conflicted, as the Rush Dueling that she loves is taking Princess G from her, but eventually she makes her decision and challenges Yuga to a Rush Duel; she'll beat him down so that she can quit Rush Dueling. Yuga accepts her challenge, but he vows not to lose.

They relocate to the rooftop to Rush Duel, Kaizo begging Romin not to do this. Romin declares that this will be her last gig as she activates her Duel Guitar, while Yuga readies his Duel Disk, suggesting that they have fun if this will be the last time, and they place their Decks into their Dueling equipment, declaring "Rush Duel!" and deploying the green holographic dome. In the hallways, Gwendoline is running for the rooftop as well, but rounds a corner and crashes into Mimi, apologizing for messing up again, though Mimi tells Princess G that she doesn't need to act so clumsy in front of her, much to Gwendoline's shock.

Yuga quickly brings out three strong monsters.

Yuga declares his turn and draws "Straynge Cat", while his hand also contains "Ansler the Magical Swordsman", "Bascule the Moving Fortress", "Kuribot", and "Aqua Sorcerer". He Summons three monsters; "Straynge Cat", "Kuribot" and "Aqua Sorcerer", then Tributes "Straynge Cat" and "Kuribot" to Tribute Summon "Bascule the Moving Fortress". Yuga then activates the effect of "Bascule", sending the top three cards of his Deck to the Graveyard to change "Bascule" to Defense Position and revive "Straynge Cat", and Tributes "Straynge Cat" again to Tribute Summon "Ansler the Magical Swordsman", before ending his turn.

Romin clears out all of Yuga's monsters.

Declaring that it's the countdown to the finale, Romin draws, then examines her hand, containing "Raging Rock", "Folder Blitz the Infinite Dream", "Berry Bassist", "Romanpick", and "Amusi Performer". She Summons "Romanpick" and "Amusi Performer", before activating the effect of "Amusi Performer", paying 800 LP to inflict 300 damage to Yuga. Her LP falls to 3200 as "Amusi Performer" screams at Yuga through her microphone, reducing him to 3700 LP. Then Romin activates the effect of "Romanpick" since she has less LP than Yuga, paying 500 more LP (falling to 2700 LP) to send the top three cards of her Deck to the Graveyard; "Howlingbird", "Keytar Kid" and a second "Romanpick", the last of which she adds to her hand and then Summons. Declaring that the phrase is now "encore", she activates the effect of the second "Romanpick", paying 500 LP (falling to 2200 LP) and sending "Romic n' Roller", "Watangel", and "Psychic Introduction" from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard, then adding "Romic n' Roller" to her hand. Luke observed that she's losing LP and enduring it as she waits for victory, and he encourages Romin to keep going to her limit, though she just tells him to shut up, cowing Luke, Gavin and Kaizo. Romin Tributes "Amusi Performer" to Tribute Summon "Berry Bassist", and Yuga grins at Romin's move, before Romin Tributes both "Romanpicks" to show Yuga the best part of her last gig, "Folder Blitz the Infinite Dream". Next Romin activates the effect of "Berry Bassist", paying 500 LP and falling to 1700 LP to Special Summon "Keytar Kid" from her Graveyard before Tributing her to Tribute Summon "Romic n' Roller". Romin then activates the effect of "Romic n' Roller" as she has less than 2000 LP, reducing the ATK and DEF of all of Yuga's monsters by 500. "Romic n' Roller" screams into her microphone, reducing "Ansler" to 1500 ATK, "Bascule" to 2000 DEF and "Aqua Sorcerer" to 1000 ATK. Then she activates the effect of "Folder Blitz" since she has at least 2000 fewer LP than Yuga, inflicting 1500 damage to him. "Folder Blitz" blasts a rainbow at Yuga, reducing him to 2200 LP, and he admits that wasn't bad. Romin Sets a card, claiming that she's done tuning, and strikes up a guitar solo on the Duel Guitar before stating that it's time for the main stage; on guitar, "Folder Blitz the Infinite Dream", who destroys "Bascule" with a barrage of electricity; on vocals, "Romic n' Roller", whose warbling cry destroys "Ansler" and reduces Yuga to 2000 LP, and on bass, "Berry Bassist", who blasts a sphere of purple energy from her guitar at "Aqua Sorcerer" and destroys it, reducing Yuga to 1400 LP. Romin ends her turn, and Kaizo praises Romin for driving all of Yuga's off the stage, but Yuga bursts out laughing and asks if this is why Romin can't stop Rush Dueling, much to her surprise, and she protests that she's already said that she's quitting Rush Dueling.

As the Duel, a black Goha Enterprises Drone is streaming the Duel to Mimi's tablet in the next room, and Gwendoline admits that she'd been wondering for a while what kind of child received her "Prima Guitarna" card. Mimi notes that Romin intends to quit Rush Dueling because of Princess G's actions and she asks if Gwendoline will talk to her, but Gwendoline doesn't reply.

Romin prevents the effect of "Lightning Voltcondor" from activating.

Yuga declares his turn and draws "Spell Archer", "Cyc the Child of Wind", "Beast Summoner", "Bendorbreak the Conqueror", and "Kuribotriple", the last of which he immediately activates, returning the three "Kuribot" in his Graveyard to his Deck to draw two cards. Then he Summons three monsters; "Spell Archer", "Cyc the Child of Wind" and "Beast Summoner", before sending "Beast Summoner" to his Graveyard to Special Summon "Bendorbreak the Conqueror" from his hand. Yuga then activates the effect of "Cyc", adding "Beast Summoner" from his Graveyard back to his hand to Romin's shock, and then he Tributes "Spell Archer" and "Cyc" to Tribute Summon "Lightning Voltcondor". Kaizo panics, as Yuga will be able to reduce the ATK of Romin's DARK monsters by 1200 with the effect of "Lightning Voltcondor" if he sends the Level 4 "Beast Summoner" from his hand to the Graveyard, but Romin activates a Trap Card, "Raging Rock", which blasts out a surge of energy that wraps "Lightning Voltconcdor" in energy chains and prevents it from activating its effect, while also increasing the ATK of all of her members by 200. Gavin is impressed by the scope of Romin's move and Luke once again praises her limits, only for her to once again tell them to be quiet. Yuga warns Romin that he isn't finished yet and he Summons "Beast Summoner" again, then Tributes it to activate its effect and Special Summon a monster from his hand, chanting "Use your claws to slice and tear them apart, then break through! Savage Claw Tiger!" ("Slash away, Savage Claw Tiger!" in the dub.)

Yuga then activates the effect of "Savage Claw Tiger", sending "Sparkhearts Girl" from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard to increase its ATK by 400 for each Level 7 or higher monster he controls until the end of the turn. With three - "Savage Claw Tiger" itself, "Voltcondor" and "Bendorbreak", it gains 1200 ATK, powering up to 3500 ATK as Romin cries "What?!" Yuga orders "Bendorbreak" to attack "Berry Bassist", and it gallops through Romin's monster and destroys it, reducing Romin to 1600 LP. Then "Lightning Voltcondor" attacks and destroys "Romic n' Roller" with a blast of lightning, reducing Romin to 1300 LP, and finally "Savage Claw Tiger" attacks "Folder Blitz the Infinite Dream" and destroys it, reducing her to 300 LP. Yuga ends his turn, returning the ATK of "Savage Claw Tiger" to normal, and Kaizo cries that there's no hope for Romin.

Romin draws "CAN:D".

But Romin vows that her last gig isn't over yet, and she declares her turn and draws five cards; "Lullabind", "Esperade the Smashing Superstar", "Superstar Session", "Psychic Raid" - and "CAN:D", a low-Level Normal Monster she's never seen before. In the room beside them, Gwendoline admits that she was going to talk to Romin, but she couldn't think of anything to say to her when she saw her, opening the piano in the room as she notes that Rush Dueling is an example of the potential of children. Back on the roof, Romin looks at the "CAN:D" card, wondering what she should do with only 300 LP, but then they all hear the Gwendoline playing the piano below them; a phrase of music that Romin describes as small and casual, but through the use of many grooves turns into a dynamic sound. She wonders if Princess G is playing through "CAN:D" and decides to bet on her, Summoning "CAN:D". Luke is shocked that Romin Summoned a Leve 1 Normal Monster with 100 ATK in Attack Position, and Kaizo goes ballistic at the notion of bring that card out in a pinch, though Romin ignores him and activates the Spell Card "Psychic Raid" by returning three Psychic Type monsters from her Graveyard to her Deck ("Howlingbird", "Keytar Kid", and "Watangel") to take damage equal to the ATK of one monster she controls. She loses the 100 ATK of "CAN:D" as LP, falling to 200 LP, and Kaizo cries her name in terror while shoving Luke aside, who notes how precarious the strain is, though Romin is allowed to draw a card. She draws "Prima Guitarna", and gasps that the phrase connected; because "Prima Guitarna" has the same LIGHT Attribute as "CAN:D", Romin can draw another card. She draws "Stardom Light", and expresses shock that she drew this as well, gasping that "CAN:D" has saved her. Mimi asks Gwendoline if "CAND:D" is her card as well, and Gwendoline comments that hopefully she wasn't too nosy. Romin thinks that the possibilities in Rush Duels are endless, and that's why they are so much fun. She remembers Gwendoline telling her not to give up on the things she loves, and realizes that Princess G would never give up on music if she loves it so much. Romin loves Rush Dueling and Princess G, so she shouldn't give up on them either. She thanks "CAN:D", who turns and giggles at her, Romin declaring that her dream can continue.

"Prima Guitarna" and "Esperade" stand back-to-back.

She activates the Spell Card "Stardom Light", sending "CAN:D" to the Graveyard and Special Summoning "Prima Guitarna" from her hand, then regaining 1000 LP, rising to 1200 LP. Kaizo calls it a great comeback by Romin as Yuga watches in surprise. Romin declares that it's time for their comeback show, and she activates the effect of "Prima Guitarna" by paying 1000 LP, increasing its ATK by 300 for each monster Yuga controls. With three monsters opposing it, "Prima Guitarna" rises to 3100 ATK, a score that Gavin repeats in shock, while Luke eagerly wonders if Romin has reached her limits and awakened. But Romin claims that she's not relying on that anymore, much to Yuga's surprise, and Romin declares that she isn't going to hold back on things that she likes or endure what she doesn't, but enjoy the good instead and keep running forward after her dream. As she imagines herself running towards Princess G playing the piano, both as a child and now, Luke expresses his shock that she isn't berserk, and Gavin smiles that Romin has changed; rather than endure to her limit, she has become selfish without limits, Kaizo noting that one character has made all the difference and telling Romin that her smile is beautiful. Romin laughs happily, claiming that she'll prioritize herself first and activates the Spell Card "Superstar Session" since she has at least 1000 less LP than Yuga, Special Summoning "Esperade the Smashing Superstar" from her hand as it has the same Level as "Prima Guitarna". As "Prima Guitarna" and "Esperade" stand back-to-back, Kaizo praises them as the ultimate competitive performance, but Romin shoves him out of the way and activates the effect of "Esperade" as she has 1000 or less LP, destroying two monsters Yuga controls. "Esperade" slashes her guitar through the air, destroying "Savage Claw Tiger" and "Lightning Voltcondor" with blades of energy as Romin declares that she will tackle selfishness, use it to improve, and change, just like a jam session. She imagines herself jamming with Princess G and declares that this is her new playstyle; JAM, which Yuga, Luke and Gavin all repeat in shock. Romin declares that now comes her selfish shout and she tells the twin guitars of the future to resound, attacking with "Ravaging Rock". "Esperade" unleashes a blast of green energy that destroys "Bendorbreak" and reduces Yuga to 800 LP, then "Prima Guitarna" unleashes a wave of sound notes, wiping him out.

Romin decides to quit giving up on Rush Dueling.

The sun sets as Luke and Gavin gasp Yuga's name, and Kaizo cries that Romin did it and rushes to her, but Romin brushes him aside runs for the nearby room, passing the Duel Guitar to Gavin, though she finds the room empty. Kaizo asks her name curiously and Gavin and Yuga come into the room, Gavin begging Romin not to quit Rush Dueling. Romin sighs and as Luke pokes his head into the room, Yuga tells her that her JAM was amazing and that there would be even more possibilities in Rush Dueling if she combined it with her Deck, but before he can think of any, Romin declares that she's quitting, much to everyone's shock. But she explains that she's quitting giving up on Rush Dueling. At a nearby river outside the school, Mimi tells Gwendoline that her feelings reached Romin and she asks her what she will do now. Gwendoline removes her spectacles, claiming that she can continue her music without Goha's help, and she hopes to do so someday with Romin. Mimi smiles and she wishes Princess G well, and Gwendoline tells the President to stay well as well before driving off on her motorcycle. Mimi watches her go, musing on the potential of children, while Romin sits at school looking at the two cards that Princess G has given her; "Prima Guitarna" and "CAN:D", and she thinks that if she keeps chasing her dreams, then someday she will surely be able to achieve them.

She chooses the Level 7 "Prima Guitarna" and Special Summons the Level 7 "Esperade" (2500/0) from her hand in Attack Position. As Romin has 1000 or less LP, she activates the effect of "Esperade", destroying up to two monsters Yuga controls. She destroys "Voltcondor" and "Savage Claw Tiger". "Esperade" attacks and destroys "Bendorbreak" (Yuga: 1400 → 800 LP). "Prima Guitarna" attacks Yuga directly (Yuga: 800 → 0 LP).
