Notes[edit]

  • This card's name is both "Maldición del Dragón" and "Hechizo del Dragón" in the Spanish anime.
  • This card's attack name is called Hell Flame in the Japanese anime and manga, and Dragon Flame in both versions.
  • In the dub, this card makes a sound equal to that of an [[1]] or a [[2]].

Duelist Kingdom[edit]

  • In episode 7, Yami Yugi uses this card during his Duel against Mako Tsunami. After Yugi Normal Summons this card, he activates "Burning Land" to allow this card to attack all of Mako's monsters. This card then attacks and destroys all of Mako's monsters, winning Yugi the duel.
  • In episode 14, Yami Yugi uses this card during his Duel against PaniK. He Normal Summons this monster in Defense Position. PaniK then summons "Reaper of the Cards" and activates its effect destroy Yugi's set card as he assumed it was "Swords of Revealing Light", but it was revealed to be "Spellbinding Circle" which activates immediately, paralyzes "Reaper of the Cards", and decreases its ATK by 700. In the next episode, PaniK's "King of Yamimakai" attacks this card, but the light from "Spellbinding Circle" redirects the attack to "Reaper of the Cards", destroying it. Later Yugi activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Gaia The Fierce Knight" in order to Fusion Summon "Gaia the Dragon Champion".
  • In episode 22, Yami Yugi uses this card during his Duel against Seto Kaiba. After he Normal Summons this card, Yugi uses this card to attack and destroy "Ryu-Kishin Powered". Later "Swordstalker" (whose ATK was 2400 due to its own effect) attacks this card, but Yugi activates "Monster Replace" to return this card to his Hhnd and Special Summon "Dark Magician" in its place. After "Dark Magician" attacks and destroys Kaiba's "Swordstalker", Yugi summons this card back to the field. Later, "Dark Magician" attacks "La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp", but Kaiba activates "Ancient Lamp" to redirect the attack to this card, destroying it instead.
    • This card also appears in a flashback Téa Gardner has when she remembers when Yami Yugi rescued her. Yugi challenges a thug who had knocked out Téa to a challenge, utilizing his Deck. He claimed that the person who drew the strongest monster wins. The thug drew this card and confidently claimed that this monster's ATK is really high. Yugi draws from the Deck and gets "Dark Magician", so Yugi wins. The thug, angrily charges forward, but Yami gives the thug a Mind Crush, knocking the thug out.
  • In episode 33, Yami Yugi uses this card during his Duel against Joey Wheeler. After he Normal Summons this monster, Yugi activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Gaia The Fierce Knight" in order to Fusion Summon "Gaia the Dragon Champion".
    • This card also appears when Yami Yugi explains to Joey that Duel Monsters is about the balance between Monster, Spell and Trap Cards.
  • In episode 38, Yami Yugi uses this card during his Duel against Maximillion Pegasus. He Normal Summons this card in Attack Position. Yugi and Yami Yugi then mind shuffle, but Yugi's mind starts to weaken from the stress of dueling while in the Shadow Realm so Yami Yugi takes over. Yami Yugi then uses this card to attack Pegasus's "Dark-Eyes Illusionist", but this activates the effect of "Dark-Eyes Illusionist", stopping the attack and rendering this card immobile. Later Pegasus activates the effect of "Relinquished" to equip this card onto it and make its ATK and DEF the same as this card's. Yami Yugi's "Dark Magician" then attacks "Relinquished", but Pegasus destroys this card in order to prevent "Relinquished" from being destroyed. Due to the last effect of "Relinquished", Yami Yugi takes the Battle Damage that Pegasus would have taken.

Battle City[edit]

  • In episode 50, Yugi Muto uses this card during his Duel against Bandit Keith while the latter was possessed by Marik Ishtar. After Yugi Normal Summons this card and "Gaia The Fierce Knight", he activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Gaia The Fierce Knight" in order to Fusion Summon "Gaia the Dragon Champion".
  • In episode 53, Yami Yugi uses this card during his Duel against Johnny Steps. After this card is Normal Summoned, Yugi uses this card to attack and destroy "Water Omotics". On Yugi's next turn, this card attacks Johnny's "Musician King", but Johnny activates "Metalmorph" to equip it onto "Musician King" and increase its ATK and DEF by 300. "Musician King" then destroys this card.

Virtual World[edit]

  • In episode 99, this card appears when Yami Yugi was building his Virtual World Deck for his Duel against Gansley.
  • In episode 109, this card appears in a flashback Leichter has when he explains to Seto Kaiba that his treachery began when Gozaburo Kaiba gave him a large amount of dollars to test Seto's business skills.
  • In episode 111, this card can be seen when Yami Yugi and Joey Wheeler were building their Virtual World Decks for their Duel against the Big Five.
  • In episode 120, Yugi Muto summons this monster to fight and destroy several of Gozaburo's monster army. This card saves Serenity Wheeler by destroying the "Lizard Soldier" that was about to attack her. Later, this card is destroyed by Gozaburo's "Cosmo Queen".

Waking the Dragons[edit]

  • In episode 161, Yami Yugi uses this card during his Duel against Weevil Underwood. He activates "Polymerization" to fuse this card with "Gaia The Fierce Knight" in order to Fusion Summon "Gaia the Dragon Champion".

Grand Championship[edit]

  • In episode 185, this card is shown in Rick's Deck when Yugi Muto looks through it.
  • In episode 186, Yami Yugi uses this card during his Duel against the KC DuelTek 760 while the former was using Rick's Deck. After he draws this card, he uses the effect of "Heart of the Underdog" to show this card to the DuelTek and draw again. With "Heart of the Underdog", he draws seven more Dragon-type monsters. Yugi later discards this card and the five other Dragon-type Normal Monsters that he drew, so that "Spirit Ryu" would gain 1000 ATK for each Dragon discarded.

Capsule Monsters[edit]

  • In episode 11, Solomon Muto Summons this card from its capsule for the war against King Alexander and his Royal Guard. He uses it to circle himself in flame to root out "Stealth Bird" to burn with Dragon Fire. Later, this monster helps face "Seven-Armed Fiend" and its "Skull Knight 2".
  • In episode 12, this card appears with the rest of Yami Yugi and his friends' army. It helps distract two of Alexander the Great's followers and is later repelled by "Total Defense Shogun". After his friends affirm that they're in this together and won't leave his side, Curse of Dragon along with the other Dragons merge with Yami Yugi's Duel Armor to form the Armor of Unity.

Dawn of the Duel[edit]

  • In episode 200, this card appears within Seto Kaiba's briefcase when he opens it up and takes his Duel Disk with him.
  • In episode 223, Yugi uses this card during his Duel against Yami Yugi. He Tribute Summons this card by Tributing "Watapon". "Summoned Skull" then attacks "Big Shield Gardna". The attack fails, but the effect of "Big Shield Gardna" activates, switching it to Attack Position. This card then attacks and destroys "Big Shield Gardna". In the next episode, Yugi switches this card to Defense Position. Later "Dark Magician" attacks and destroys this card.
