Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS - Episode 007
"Fallen Angel", known as "Hanoi's Angel" in the Japanese version, is the seventh episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS anime. It first aired in Japan on June 21, 2017, became available with official subtitles via Crunchyroll on the same day, and aired in Canada on September 22, 2018.

Featured Duel: Playmaker vs. Blue AngelEdit
The Duel is conducted as a Speed Duel.
Turn 1: Blue Angel
Blue Angel activates the Field Spell "Trickstar Light Stage", adding a "Trickstar" monster from her Deck to her hand. She adds "Trickstar Lilybell". As "Lilybell" was added to Blue Angel's hand except by drawing it, she activates its effect, Special Summoning it (800/2000). Blue Angel Normal Summons "Trickstar Candina" (1800/400). As "Candina" was Normal Summoned, Blue Angel activates its effect, adding a "Trickstar" card from her Deck to her hand. She adds "Trickstar Reincarnation". Blue Angel activates the effect of "Trickstar Lycoris" in her hand, revealing it, then targeting a different "Trickstar" monster she controls to Special Summon it, then return that monster to the hand. She targets "Candina", Special Summons "Lycoris" (1600/1200) in Defense Position, and returns "Candina" to her hand. Blue Angel activates the Spell "Trickstar Vision", Special Summoning a "Trickstar" monster from her hand, but its ATK becomes halved, also it has its effects negated, then each player draws a card. She Special Summons "Candina" (1800 → 900/400), then both players draw a card. Each time a card is added to Playmaker's hand, the effect of "Lycoris" inflicts 200 damage to him for each (Playmaker: 4000 → 3800 LP). Each time a "Trickstar" monster Blue Angel controls inflicts battle or effect damage to Playmaker, the effect of "Light Stage" inflicts 200 damage to him (Playmaker: 3800 → 3600 LP). Blue Angel sets "Lilybell" and "Candina" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "Trickstar Holly Angel" (2000/↙↘) to the Extra Monster Zone. Blue Angel Sets two cards.
Turn 2: Playmaker
Playmaker draws (Playmaker: 3600 → 3400 → 3200 LP). As Playmaker took damage by a "Trickstar" monster's effect, the effect of "Holly Angel" activates, increasing its ATK equal to the damage he took, until the end of this turn ("Holly Angel": 2000 → 2200 ATK). Playmaker Normal Summons "Draconnet" (1400/1200). As "Draconnet" was Normal Summoned, Playmaker activates its effect, Special Summoning a Level 2 or lower Normal Monster from his hand or Deck in Defense Position. He Special Summons the Level 2 "Bitron" (200/2000) from his Deck. Playmaker sets "Bitron" in the Link Arrow to Link Summon "Link Spider" (1000/↓) to the Extra Monster Zone. Playmaker activates the effect of "Link Spider", Special Summoning a Level 4 or lower Normal Monster from his hand to his zone "Link Spider" points to. He Special Summons "Bitron" (200/2000) to the zone the bottom-center Link Arrow of "Link Spider" points to. Playmaker sets "Draconnet" and "Bitron" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "Link Bumper" (1400/←↑) to the zone the bottom-center Link Arrow of "Link Spider" points to. Playmaker sets "Link Spider" and the Link-2 "Link Bumper" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "Decode Talker" (2300/↙↑↘) to the Extra Monster Zone.
"Decode Talker" attacks "Holly Angel". Blue Angel activates her face-down Trap "Trickstar Reincarnation", banishing Playmaker's entire hand, then he draws the same number of cards. Four cards are banished and Playmaker draws four cards (Playmaker: 3200 → 2400 → 2200 LP). As Playmaker took damage by a "Trickstar" monster's effect, the effect of "Holly Angel" activates, increasing its ATK equal to the damage he took, until the end of this turn ("Holly Angel": 2200 → 3000 ATK). Playmaker activates the Quick-Play Spell "Security Block", targeting a Cyberse monster on the field, then preventing either player from taking battle damage this turn, also that monster cannot be destroyed by battle this turn. He targets "Decode Talker". The attack continues and "Decode Talker" is not destroyed. As a "Trickstar" monster battled this turn while Blue Angel controlled it, she activates her face-down Trap "Trickstar Scatter", targeting a monster Playmaker controls and destroying it. She targets and destroys "Decode Talker". As a Cyberse Link Monster Playmaker controlled was destroyed by Blue Angel's card effect while "Salvagent Driver" was in his hand or GY, he activates its effect, Special Summoning it (2200/2100). He Special Summons it in Defense Position.
Turn 3: Blue Angel
Blue Angel draws "Dark Angel". Blue Angel activates the effect of "Reincarnation" in her GY, banishing it, then targeting a "Trickstar" monster in her GY to Special Summon it. She targets and Special Summons "Lilybell" (800/2000) in Attack Position. The effect of "Lilybell" allows it to attack directly. "Lilybell" attacks Playmaker directly (Playmaker: 2200 → 1400 → 1200 LP). As "Lilybell" inflicted battle damage to Playmaker, Blue Angel activates its effect, targeting a "Trickstar" monster in her GY and adding it to her hand. She targets and adds "Candina".
Turn 4: Playmaker
Playmaker draws (Playmaker: 1200 → 1000 → 800 LP). As Playmaker took damage by a "Trickstar" monster's effect, the effect of "Holly Angel" activates, increasing its ATK equal to the damage he took, until the end of this turn ("Holly Angel": 2000 → 2200 ATK). Playmaker Normal Summons "Defect Compiler" (1000/1000). Playmaker activates the effect of "Salvagent Driver", discarding a Spell, then targeting a Cyberse monster in his GY to Special Summon it, but it cannot attack directly this turn. He discards "Cynet Universe", then targets and Special Summons "Link Bumper" (1400/←↑).
At this point, Playmaker enters the Data Storm. As Playmaker's LP is 1000 or less, he activates his Skill "Storm Access", accessing a Cyberse Link Monster at random from a nearby Data Storm and adding it to his Extra Deck. He obtains "Encode Talker" and adds it to his Extra Deck.
Playmaker sets "Salvagent Driver" and the Link-2 "Link Bumper" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "Encode Talker" (2300/↑↓↘) to the Extra Monster Zone. "Defect Compiler" attacks "Lilybell". Playmaker activates the Quick-Play Spell "Frontline Disturbance", targeting a Level 4 or lower monster Blue Angel controls. If it leaves the field, Playmaker places a Disturbance Counter on a face-up monster he controls, then as long as it has a Disturbance Counter, it gains an effect. He targets the Level 2 "Lilybell". During Playmaker's turn, Blue Angel activates her Skill "Trickstar Trick", discarding a "Trickstar" card to make Playmaker draw until he has three cards in his hand, then during the End Phase of this turn, Playmaker must banish a card from his hand for each "Trickstar" monster in Blue Angel's GY. She discards "Candina" and makes Playmaker draw three cards. As Playmaker would take damage from Blue Angel's card effect, the effect of "Defect Compiler" places a Defect Counter on it instead, up to a maximum of one ("Defect Compiler": 0 → 1 Defect Counter).
As Blue Angel's Fairy monster was targeted for an attack, she activates the effect of "Dark Angel" in her hand, Tributing that monster and sending "Dark Angel" from her hand to the GY, then targeting a face-up monster she controls to change the attack target to her targeted monster, then it gains ATK equal to the original ATK of the Tributed monster, until the end of this turn. She Tributes "Lilybell" and targets "Holly Angel" ("Holly Angel": 2200 → 3000 ATK). As "Lilybell" left the field, Playmaker places a Disturbance Counter on "Encode Talker" ("Encode Talker": 0 → 1 Disturbance Counter). Before damage calculation, as Playmaker's monster "Encode Talker" points to is battling Blue Angel's monster with higher ATK than it, Playmaker activates its effect, making that monster unable to be destroyed by that battle, also Playmaker takes no battle damage from that battle, then after that damage calculation, either "Encode Talker" or a monster it points to gains ATK equal to the ATK of Blue Angel's monster that battled, until the end of this turn. The attack continues and "Defect Compiler" is not destroyed. After damage calculation, "Encode Talker" gains ATK equal to that of "Holly Angel" ("Encode Talker": 2300 → 5300 ATK). Playmaker activates the effect of "Defect Compiler", removing a Defect Counter from it, then targeting a Cyberse monster he controls to increase its ATK by 800 until the end of this turn ("Defect Compiler": 1 → 0 Defect Counters). He targets "Encode Talker" ("Encode Talker": 5300 → 6100 ATK). "Encode Talker" attacks "Holly Angel". As "Encode Talker" with a Disturbance Counter battled, Playmaker activates the effect of "Encode Talker" gained from "Frontline Disturbance", removing a Disturbance Counter from it, then targeting a face-up monster Blue Angel controls to reduce its ATK equal to the combined DEF of all face-up Defense Position monsters Blue Angel currently controls, until the end of this turn ("Encode Talker": 1 → 0 Disturbance Counters). He targets "Holly Angel", which loses ATK equal to the DEF of the Defense Position "Lycoris" ("Holly Angel": 3000 → 1800 ATK). The attack continues and "Holly Angel" is destroyed (Blue Angel: 4000 → 0 LP).

Difference from previewEdit
- When the episode aired, Blue Angel's bust was edited to be less prominent (and more consistent with previous episodes) in several shots of her holding up cards.
- A few animation errors were corrected, such as the stripe on the strap of Blue Angel's Duel Disk not glowing and the Data Storm missing from downward-looking shots.
MistakesEdit
- When "Trickstar Holly Angel" is being Link Summoned, at one point her left leg goes from fully extended all the way to folded up, and her right one from bent to also fully extended, in the span of a single frame, without any transitional one.
- In some shots of Blue Angel, e.g. when the ATK of "Holly Angel" becomes 3000 during the second turn, her legs lack the shading from being under the skirt.
- Right before Playmaker uses "Draconnet" and "Bitron" as Link Material to Link Summon "Link Bumper", his mouth is animated despite not speaking in that moment. This was corrected in the dub.
- In the dub, when Blue Angel Special Summons "Lilybell" with "Trickstar Vision", she mistakenly states that she is halving the monster's Life Points, rather than Attack Points.
