Playmaker continues to pursue the glowing figure across the skies of LINK VRAINS in their Speed Duel. Ai yelps that this is bad; they're already in a huge pinch (in the dub he is silent). But Playmaker activates the effect of "Linkuriboh" since his opponent attacked, Tributing it to reduce the ATK of the attacking monster to zero. "Linkuriboh" jumps in front of him to intercept the attack before vanishing as the winds dissipate, and Playmaker states that since "Elphase" is no longer pointing to any monsters, its ATK returns to normal, falling to 2000. The glowing figure ends its turn, and the ATK of its second "Flow Hydradrive" returns to normal. "Linkuriboh" emerges happily from Playmaker's Duel Disk, and Ai cheers that "Linkuriboh" saved them, rubbing its body affectionately and stating that he always knew that it had skill. Ai comments that he doesn't know what the shiny guy will do next, and suggests that they end the Duel quickly (in the dub, he advises Playmaker to be careful). Playmaker agrees, and he declares his turn and draws a Spell Card, "One-Time Passcode", which he immediately activates. Playmaker declares his turn and draws, and Bohman discards a card to activate the effect of "Covered Hydradrive". "Covered Hydradrive" roars, emitting orange sound waves as Bohman explains that Playmaker will only be able to attack with one monster this turn. Ai asks how they'll get through if they can only attack with one monster. Playmaker suggests that they do that, and Ai cheers that he was waiting for Playmaker to say that (in the dub, Ai asks if Playmaker has a card that can break that defense, and Playmaker admits that he doesn't, at least not yet. Ai gets what he means and tells him to say no more). He wheels his Duel Board into the sky, and Ai calls forth a Data Storm that engulfs them from above. As Playmaker spins within the Data Storm, Ai tells him to seize the wind, and Playmaker steadies his Duel Board as Harlan watches from outside the Data Storm, recognizing the phenomenon. Playmaker activates his Skill, since his LP is 1000 or less he can add a random Link Monster in the Data Storm to his Extra Deck. The glowing particles coalesce in front of his hand into a glowing card, and Playmaker grabs the card, somersaulting through the Data Storm as he declares "Storm Access!" He emerges from the Data Storm, declaring that he'll end it this turn.

"Shed Some Light", known as "Judgment Arrow" in the Japanese version, is the forty-eighth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS anime. It first aired in Japan on April 18, 2018, and aired in Canada on September 15, 2019.

Playmaker chases after the mysterious individual who attacked Jin, and challenges him to a Duel. However, he has a hard time trying to deal with the mysterious man's never-seen-before cards. In order to achieve victory, Playmaker uses the new card he received from Ai to counterattack!

Summary

At the end of the recap, a red-clad Duelist stands on top of a building, watching the Speed Duel. He comments to someone else that they've found his friend. The other person - an A.I. in his Duel Disk in the form of an eye similar to that of Ai, but magenta and purple in color - calls it unthinkable, and he looks at Ai as he hugs the screen of Playmaker's Duel Disk, asking the red-clad Duelist not to associate him with that airhead (in the dub, he claims that he'd have won the Duel by now).

"Linkuriboh" activates its effect.

Playmaker continues to pursue the glowing figure across the skies of LINK VRAINS in their Speed Duel. The scores stand with Playmaker on 2000 LP and controlling "Linkuriboh" and "Elphase", while the glowing figure is on 1400 LP and controls two 1000 ATK "Flow Hydradrives". The glowing figure attacks Playmaker directly with the other "Flow Hydradrive", which launches a concentrated blast of clouds at Playmaker. "Linkuriboh" bubbles happily and then disappears back into the Duel Disk, and Ai bids it goodbye.

Playmaker asks who the glowing figure is, but gets no response. He asks it why it has Cyberse monsters and a Spell Card with Link Arrows, but again receives no response (in the dub his question is rhetorical and Ai tells Playmaker not to ask him). Ai asks "Hello?" like he's answering the phone, and Playmaker decides that they'll just have to catch and question the figure and he speeds off. Their speed leaves Frog and Pigeon behind, and Frog yelps that they're being left behind and orders Pigeon to go faster. Pigeon protests that he can't go any faster, and Frog tells him to stop complaining, but Pigeon explains that Playmaker's Duel Board is the newest model and he begs Frog to make his Avatar the newest model too. Ghost Gal comments on the new enemy who uses a Link Spell Card and she wonders what's happening (in the dub, she comments that while everyone else is happy to see Playmaker, she isn't as it usually means trouble). Blue Angel also watches from a nearby rooftop, whispering Playmaker's name while spectators in the nearby buildings cheer the Speed Duel on (in the dub, one spectator with a tree avatar also adds "I'm a tree!").

"Cyberse Witch" activates her effect.

It allows him to Special Summon a "Security Token" in Defense Position. He declares that the effect of "Elphase" will increase its ATK by 300 for every monster it points to. He chants "Appear! The circuit that leads to the future!" and explains that the Summoning conditions are two Cyberse monsters, setting "Elphase" and the "Security Token" in the Link Arrows. The watching boy seems surprised as Playmaker Link Summons the Link-2 "Cyberse Witch". Playmaker then activates the effect of "Elphase" since it was Link Summoned and then sent to the Graveyard, Special Summoning a Level 4 or lower Cyberse monster from his Graveyard. He revives "Defcon Bird", and then activates the effect of "Cyberse Witch", who glows with a purple aura as Playmaker explains that since a monster was Special Summoned to a zone that it pointed to, he can banish a Spell Card from his Graveyard to add two cards in his Deck to his hand. He banishes "One-Time Passcode", and as he adds the two cards to his hand, he adds that during the turn he activated this effect, he can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Cyberse monster from his Graveyard. "Cyberse Witch" glows purple and raises her staff; the orb in the top glowing as Playmaker Special Summons "Cyberse Wizard" from his Graveyard. Ai giggles, wearing a witch's hat and stirring a cauldron as he chants "Du-Du-Duel!" (In the dub, he comments that Playmaker's brewing up trouble.)

"Cyberse Magician" powers up as it attacks.

Then Playmaker activates the Ritual Spell Card, "Cynet Ritual" from his hand, and the lines on his suit glow blue. The boy is shocked to see a Ritual Spell, and Playmaker explains that he will Tribute monsters from his hand and field whose total Level equals or surpasses the Level of the Cyberse Ritual Monster that he's Ritual Summoning from his hand. As he Tributes the Level 4 "Cyberse Wizard" and the Level 3 "Defcon Bird", a magic circle forms, lit with seven blue flames. The two monsters disintegrate and flow into the circle, and Playmaker chants "The contract has been made. The sage who wields dark power inherits these two souls! Ritual Summon! Descend, Cyberse Magician!" ("These two souls offer their essence to break the barriers of reality and conjure the ultimate sorcerer to this realm! I Ritual Summon! Cyberse Magician!" in the dub.) The boy is shocked to see a Cyberse Ritual Monster, protesting that it wasn't in the data. Playmaker Sets a card (in the dub Ai observes that Playmaker had time to beef up his Deck, and Playmaker snarks that it was because Ai wasn't around to pester him), then attacks "Flow Hydradrive" with "Cyberse Magician". As "Cyberse Magician" lunges forwards, Playmaker explains that it will gain 1000 ATK when it battles a Link Monster, and its staff slightly extends and glows as it rises to 3500 ATK. The boy gasps that this isn't good; it's over if the glowing figure takes the attack of "Cyberse Magician". He orders the figure to do something, and the figure activates the effect of the Link Spell "Judgment Arrows", doubling the ATK of the Link Monster it points to. "Flow Hydradrive" rises to 2000 ATK, and Ai crows that it's not enough to stop their 3500 ATK. But the glowing figure then activates a Continuous Trap Card, "Property Spray", allowing him to Tribute a monster once per turn to gain LP equal to its ATK. He Tributes the other "Flow Hydradrive", gaining its 1000 ATK as LP and rising to 2400 LP as a twister surrounds him. He adds that until the end of the turn, the Attributes of all monsters Playmaker controls will become the same as that of the Tributed monster's, in this case, WIND. Both "Cyberse Witch" and "Cyberse Magician" glow with a green aura, and Playmaker muses on the nature of a card that can changes Attributes. Ai states that it doesn't matter and he tells Playmaker to go. Playmaker orders the "Cyberse Magic" attack of "Cyberse Magician", who blasts a surge of dark magic from his staff that destroys "Flow Hydradrive" and blasts the glowing figure backwards with a scream.

The light surrounding their opponent fades.

But as the glowing figure's LP falls to 900, the glowing energy shell surrounding him begins to peel away. Ai cheers Playmaker's attack, noting that Playmaker didn't finish their opponent, but he dealt big damage. But Playmaker gasps as his opponent tumbles through the air, more and more of the light peeling away from his body to reveal a brown-skinned man with long blonde and brown hair and skintight blue clothing covering a muscular body, screaming as he clutches his head. Playmaker and Ai gasp in shock, and Ai declares that this is their opponent's true identity (in the dub, Ai wonders if they really hit the man that hard; asking if his mind's as cracked as his abs, having beheld the man's musculature). Playmaker asks who the man is, and the man tries to answer (in the dub, he realizes in horror that he doesn't know), but then he screams "Who am I?!"

Ai accuses the mysterious man of taking Jin's data.

Ai protests that's what they're supposed to say(in the dub, the man asks if they know who he is, and Ai asks how they should know; they're asking him the same question), and the man continues to clutch his forehead, asking them why they are challenging him to a battle. Ai tells him to quit playing dumb; they're fighting to beat the bad guy who kidnapped their acquaintance's brother (he also accuses the man of destroying the Cyberse in the dub). The man gasps in shock, asking who would do such a horrible thing (in the dub, he is far more defensive), and Ai snaps that the man did. The man protests that he doesn't remember doing that, and Playmaker asks him if he forgot what he did. Ai wonders if the damage gave the man amnesia. The man asks why he's here, and then the voice of the boy comes in over his Duel Disk, calling him his big brother and telling him to stop wasting time, and to hurry up and chase them away (in the dub, he calls him by name and tells him that he knows he's confused, but needs to do as he says). The man appears to recognize the voice, and the boy states that it's Harlan, his younger brother Harlan. The man asks "younger brother", and Harlan confirms it, calling the man "Bohman" and telling him that he promised that he'd regain their memories (in the dub, Bohman thinks he's hearing voices until Harlan tells him that he forgot about his communicator and tells him who he is, telling Bohman not to try and remember anything, but that he'll regain memories with every Duel he wins). Bohman gasps, stating that that's right. His name is Bohman, and their memories are on the line in this Duel. Bohman's eyes begin to glow with a slight magenta hue, and Playmaker asks "Memories?"

Bohman becomes determined, stating that he can't afford to lose this Duel and examining the state of the field on a viewscreen. He checks the status of the Duel; he has 900 LP and Playmaker has 2000, and he resumes the Duel. Ai hesitantly asks "Uh...Mr. Bohman?" as they ascend higher into the sky (in the dub, as they ascend Ai tells Bohman that he's not getting away, and Bohman tells him that he's not running), but Bohman activates the effect of "Flow Hydradrive" since it was destroyed, Special Summoning a "Hydradrive Token" in Defense Position. Then he activates the effect of the Continuous Trap Card "Hydradrive Generator", once per turn since he Normal or Special Summoned a monster while he had less LP than Playmaker, he can Special Summon another "Hydradrive Token" in Defense Position. Ai asks what's up with this guy and if he's decided to Duel after all. He states that "Ai" has no clue what he really wants to do (in the dub, he comments that Bohman was like watching a whole season of soap operas and eagerly wonders if he'll go crackers again later). Playmaker replies that for now their priority is to take back what he stole, and he has "Cyberse Witch" attack one of the "Hydradrive Tokens". "Cyberse Witch" destroys the Token monster with a blast of magenta lightning, and Playmaker ends his turn, returning the Attributes of his "Cyberse Witch" and "Cyberse Magician" to normal.

The effect of "Cyberse Magician" clashes with the attack of "Coolant Hydradrive", halving the battle damage.

Bohman declares his turn and draws, then he chants "Appear! The circuit that connects the truth!" He declares that the Summoning conditions are one "Hydradrive" monster, and he sets the "Hydradrive Token" to Link Summon the Link-1 "Coolant Hydradrive". Ai muses that after a WIND one comes a WATER one (in the dub, he comments that it's an upgrade, but not much of one), and Bohman activates the effect of "Hydradrive Generator", Special Summoning another "Hydradrive Token". He chants "Appear again! The circuit that connects the truth!" He declares that the Summoning condition is one "Hydradrive" monster, and he sets the new "Hydradrive Token" to Link Summon another Link-1 "Coolant Hydradrive". Then Bohman activates the effect of "Property Spray", Tributing the WATER "Coolant Hydradrive" to gain LP equal to its ATK and change the Attributes of all monsters Playmaker controls to WATER. Bohman rises to 1900 LP as a waterspout surrounds him, and "Cyberse Magician" and "Cyberse Witch" gain blue auras. Bohman then declares that the effect of the other "Coolant Hydradrive" will allow it to attack directly while Playmaker controls a WATER monster. He orders "Coolant Hydradrive" to attack directly, and as Ai realizes what's happening (in the dub, he decides it's a big upgrade), Bohman activates the effect of the Link Spell "Judgment Arrows", doubling the ATK of the Link Monster it points to when it battles. "Coolant Hydradrive" powers up to 2000 ATK, and Ai cries that it's the same pattern as before; Playmaker will lose if he takes this attack. Playmaker declares that the effect of "Cyberse Magician" will halve any damage he takes (in the dub, he also chastises Ai for panicking), and he declares "Cyberse Architect" as "Cyberse Magician" blasts a red beam of energy from his visor, intercepting the water blast that "Coolant Hydradrive" fires and struggling with it, then falling away and allowing the weakened water blast to strike, reducing Playmaker to 1000 LP. Bohman then Special Summons "Covered Hydradrive" from his hand since he inflicted battle damage to Playmaker. It generates an energy shield of scales between it and Bohman, and Bohman explains that it can't be destroyed by battle, and while he controls another "Hydradrive" monster he doesn't take battle damage, but at the beginning of his next turn, all "Hydradrive" Link Monsters he controls will be destroyed (in the dub, he claims that his barrier is impenetrable by any strategy). Playmaker mutters that this is a problem, and Ai adds that if they don't destroy those two monsters, their attacks won't get through (in the dub, Playmaker criticizes Bohman's imagination, Ai is silent). Bohman ends his turn, and the Attributes of "Cyberse Magician" and "Cyberse Witch" return to normal. Ai admits that he thought it'd be an easy win, but Bohman is fighting well and claimed that he was fighting to regain his memories. Something's up with him. Playmaker replies that whatever his reasons, what Bohman did was inexcusable (in the dub, Ai states that he's analyzed their odds and has good news and bad, asking which Playmaker wants to hear. Playmaker states neither, much to Ai's shock, and states that they just have to win regardless of the odds. His narration continues over the shots of Kolter in the hospital, stating that they need to win for Jin and for Kolter).

In the hospital, Kolter sits at the comatose Jin's bedside, holding his hand. He tells Yusaku that he's counting on him.

The effect of "Covered Hydradrive" shields Bohman.

Playmaker Link Summons the sixth "Code Talker" - "Shootingcode Talker".

He banishes two Cyberse monsters from his Graveyard - "Elphase" and "Dotscaper" - to Special Summon "Degrade Buster". Then since "Dotscaper" was banished, he Special Summons it via its own effect. Next he activates the effect of "Linkuriboh" from his Graveyard, Tributing a Level 1 monster to Special Summon it. Then he activates his Trap Card, "Break & Reuse", which destroys a Link Monster he controls and then Special Summons a monster from his Graveyard with equal or less ATK by negating its effects. He destroys the 300 ATK "Linkuriboh", then revives the 100 ATK "Defcon Bird". Then he chants "Appear! The circuit that leads to the future!" and sets "Degrade Buster" and "Defcon Bird" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon the Link-2 "Recovery Sorcerer". He activates its effect, Special Summoning a monster from his Graveyard that was destroyed this turn, and he resurrects "Linkuriboh" again. Ai declares in satisfaction that everything's ready, and Playmaker chants "Appear! The circuit that leads to the future!" Authorizing the Link Arrows, he sets "Linkuriboh" and the Link-2 "Recovery Sorcerer" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon the Link-3 "Shootingcode Talker". It appears with 2300 ATK, and Harlan gasps that it's a new "Code Talker".

The ATK of "Shootingcode Talker" decreases as it readies the finishing blow.

Playmaker activates the effect of "Shootingcode Talker", explaining that in addition to its normal attack, it gains an extra attack for each monster it points to, and it points to two, "Cyberse Witch" and "Cyberse Magician", so therefore it can attack three times. Bohman is shocked to hear that "Shootingcode Talker" can attack three times, and "Shootingcode Talker" unfolds the bow attached to its left wrist and generates the string. First, Playmaker orders it to attack "Coolant Hydradrive", and "Shootingcode Talker" draws back an arrow and fires, destroying "Coolant Hydradrive". Bohman activates the effect of "Coolant Hydradrive" since it was destroyed, Special Summoning a "Hydradrive Token" in Defense Position, and he reminds Playmaker that the effect of "Covered Hydradrive" prevents him from taking the battle damage. Playmaker just declares the second attack, and "Shootingcode Talker" attacks and destroys the "Hydradrive Token". The absence of another "Hydradrive" monster shatters the shield that "Covered Hydradrive" generated, and Harlan gasps that this is bad; the effect of "Covered Hydradrive" is gone. Playmaker orders the third attack, and "Shootingcode Talker" attacks "Covered Hydradrive". As it draws back a blue energy arrow, Playmaker explains that during the turn "Shootingcode Talker" activates its effect, it loses 400 ATK when Bohman only controls one monster. Its ATK falls to 1900, and Ai comments that it's no problem as it's still 1900 damage. Playmaker orders "Shootingcode Talker" to finish Bohman, and it attacks and destroys "Covered Hydradrive" with "Shimmering Straight Shot", knocking Bohman off his Duel Board and sending him spiraling into an island covered in a forest as his LP falls to zero.

Ai writhes in agony after trying to eat data out of Bohman.

Harlan gasps that Playmaker is strong, and he accelerates forwards. Bohman crashes into the forest, leaving a shallow crater and Playmaker follows him down and leaps off his Duel Board as Bohman groans in pain. Playmaker tells Bohman to give back what he stole (in the dub, he asks what Bohman did to Jin, as he is actually unaware), and Ai states that it's his turn now as Bohman raises his head. He emerges from Playmaker's Duel Disk in his monster form, declaring that he'll eat Bohman's memory data. Telling Bohman "thanks for the meal!" he lunges forwards and bites into his right arm...and then sweat runs down his face and he reels back, writhing in discomfort, returning to his normal form. Playmaker asks in shock what's wrong as Ai's stomach bubbles and if it's a virus (in the dub, Ai can barely yelp "My tum tum!"). Harlan suddenly jumps down, hoists Bohman's arm over his shoulder, and onto his own Duel Board, and Playmaker wonders if he's Bohman's ally. Harlan jets off, telling his brother to hang in there. Harlan looks back at the pursing Playmaker, commenting that it's a good thing that he included an anti-Ignis program (in the dub, he irritably asks if Playmaker doesn't know when to give up). Gritting his teeth, he orders Bit and Boot to come, and two dark portal open in front of them. Two identical figures, one red and one grey, emerge on shuriken-shaped Duel Boards and move between Playmaker and Harlan. The red figure, Bit, comments that their opponent is Playmaker, and the grey one, Boot, notes that they'll get to kill two birds with one stone. Bit suggests that they retrieve the Ignis, and tells Boot to go (in the dub, they are more argumentative due to their differing styles of speech). Boot tells Bit that he's understood, and they raise their Duel Disks, Bit initiating Duel Mode. Boot tells Playmaker to hand over the Ignis. Playmaker tells them to get out of the way, he has no time for them.

A new Duelist appears - with an Ignis in his Duel Disk.

Then a red glow shines between them, and red lightning strikes from the clouds, much to everyone's shock. A spurt of flames emerges from the clouds, and dissipates to reveal the orange and red-clad Duelist who had been watching the Duel. He flies his Duel Board in between Bit and Boot, scattering them, and comes to a rest behind Playmaker. With his back to Playmaker, he states that he'll handle Bit and Boot and tells Playmaker to go after Bohman and Harlan. They exchange a glance, and Playmaker whispers "You're..." (in the dub, he is suspicious of the new arrival.) Harlan scowls and jets away, and the Duelist tells Playmaker to hurry. Playmaker thanks him (in the dub, he reluctantly disagrees), and pursues Harlan. The Duelist raises his Duel Disk and tells Flame that they'll do this, and Flame's voice agrees. A fiery figure similar in appearance to Ai materializes on his Duel Disk in a rush of flames, claiming that he's been waiting to put his skills to use (in the dub he admits he's always ready, though in this case he didn't have a choice). The fiery figure glares at Bit and Boot, declaring that he's Flame (in the dub, he suggests they bring the heat). Bit and Boot realize that he's an Ignis.

The Duelist introduces himself as Soulburner, and he ignites a flame in his palm and then crushes it, claiming that he'll burn them up with these flames (in the dub, he claims the only reason he's telling them his name is that he figured they'd like to know who's sending them home in ashes).

Featured Duel: Playmaker vs. Unknown

Duel continues from the previous episode.

Playmaker has 2000 LP and controls "Linkuriboh" (300/↓) in his left-hand Extra Monster Zone and "Elphase" (2300/↑→) in his Main Monster Zone the bottom-center Link Arrow of "Linkuriboh" points to. Unknown has 1400 LP and controls 2 copies of "Flow Hydradrive" (1000/↓) in his left-most and center Main Monster Zones, respectively, as well as "Castle Link" in his Field Zone. He also controls (from left to right) "Judgment Arrows" (↖↑↗), 1 Set card, and "Hydradrive Generator", in his Spell & Trap Zone.

Turn 3: Unknown
"Flow Hydradrive" attacks Playmaker directly. As Unknown's monster attacked, Playmaker activates the effect of "Linkuriboh", Tributing it to reduce that monster's ATK to 0 ("Flow Hydradrive": 1000 → 0 ATK). As "Elphase" is no longer pointing to "Linkuriboh", it loses 300 ATK ("Elphase": 2300 → 2000 ATK).

Turn 4: Playmaker
Playmaker draws and subsequently activates the Spell Card "One-Time Passcode" to Special Summon a "Security Token" (2000/2000). He Special Summons it to the zone "Elphase" points to. "Elphase" gains 300 ATK for each monster it points to ("Elphase": 2000 → 2300 ATK). Playmaker uses "Elphase" and the "Security Token" to Link Summon "Cyberse Witch" (800/↙↓) to the Extra Monster Zone. As the Link Summoned "Elphase" left the field, Playmaker activates its effect to Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Cyberse monster from his GY. He Special Summons "Defcon Bird" to a zone "Cyberse Witch" points to. As a monster was Special Summoned to a zone "Cyberse Witch" points to, Playmaker activates its effect, banishing a Spell Card from his GY to add "Cynet Ritual" and a Cyberse Ritual Monster from his Deck to his hand. He banishes "One-Time Passcode" and adds "Cyberse Magician" and "Cynet Ritual". As the first effect of "Cyberse Witch" was activated this turn, Playmaker activates its second effect to Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Cyberse monster from his GY. He Special Summons "Cyberse Wizard" (1800/800).

Playmaker activates the Ritual Spell Card "Cynet Ritual" to Ritual Summon a Cyberse Ritual Monster by Tributing monsters from his hand or field whose total Levels equal or exceed the Level of that Ritual Monster. He Tributes the Level 4 "Cyberse Wizard" and the Level 3 "Defcon Bird" to Ritual Summon the Level 7 "Cyberse Magician" (2500/2000). Playmaker Sets a card. "Cyberse Magician" attacks "Flow Hydradrive". As "Cyberse Magician" is battling Unknown's Link Monster, it gains 1000 ATK during damage calculation ("Cyberse Magician": 2500 → 3500 ATK). As a Link Monster it points to battled, the effect of "Judgment Arrows" doubles its ATK during damage calculation ("Flow Hydradrive": 1000 → 2000 ATK). Unknown activates his face-down Continuous Trap Card "Property Spray", Tributing a monster he controls to gain LP equal to that monster's ATK, then changing the Attribute of all monsters Playmaker controls to that of the Tributed monster's Attribute until the end of the turn. He Tributes the other "Flow Hydradrive" (Unknown: 1400 → 2400 LP), making monsters Playmaker controls become WIND. The attack continues , and "Flow Hydradrive" is destroyed (Unknown: 2400 → 900 LP).

At this point, Unknown is revealed to be Bohman.

As "Flow Hydradrive" was destroyed, Bohman activates its effect to Special Summon a "Hydradrive Token" (0/0) in Defense Position. As a monster was Normal or Special Summoned to Bohman's field while his LP is less than Playmaker's, he activates the effect of "Hydradrive Generator" to Special Summon a "Hydradrive Token" (0/0) in Defense Position. "Cyberse Witch" attacks and destroys a "Hydradrive Token".

Turn 5: Bohman
Bohman uses the "Hydradrive Token" to Link Summon "Coolant Hydradrive" (1000/↓) to a zone "Judgement Arrows" points to. As a monster was Special Summoned to Bohman's field while his LP is less than Playmaker's, he activates the effect of "Hydradrive Generator", Special Summoning a "Hydradrive Token" (0/0) in Defense Position. Bohman uses the "Hydradrive Token" to Link Summon another copy of "Coolant Hydradrive" (1000/↓) to a zone "Judgement Arrows" points to. Bohman activates the effect of "Property Spray", Tributing a "Coolant Hydradrive" (Bohman: 900 → 1900 LP) and changing the Attributes of Playmaker's monsters to WATER. As Playmaker controls a WATER monster, "Coolant Hydradrive" can attack directly. As a Link Monster it points to battled, the effect of "Judgment Arrows" doubles its ATK during damage calculation ("Coolant Hydradrive": 1000 → 2000 ATK). The effect of "Cyberse Magician" halves all damage Playmaker takes (Playmaker: 2000 → 1000 LP). As Playmaker took battle damage, Bohman activates the effect of "Covered Hydradrive" in his hand to Special Summon it (0/???). "Covered Hydradrive" cannot be destroyed by battle, and if there is another "Hydradrive" monster on the field, Bohman takes no battle damage. During his Standby Phase, the effect of "Covered Hydradrive" destroys all "Hydradrive" Link Monsters Bohman controls.

Turn 6: Playmaker
Bohman activates the effect of "Covered Hydradrive", discarding a card to make Playmaker able to attack with only one monster this turn.

At this point, Playmaker enters the Data Storm. As his LP is 1000 or lower, Playmaker activates his Skill "Storm Access", randomly accessing a card within a Data Storm. Playmaker obtains "Shootingcode Talker" and adds it to his Extra Deck.

Playmaker Special Summons "Degrade Buster" (2500/2500) from his hand by banishing two Cyberse monsters from his GY. He banishes "Elphase" and "Dotscaper". As "Dotscaper" was banished, Playmaker activates its effect to Special Summon it (0/2100). Playmaker activates the effect of "Linkuriboh" in his GY, Tributing a Level 1 monster he controls to Special Summon it (300/↓). He Tributes "Dotscaper". Playmaker activates his face-down Trap Card "Break & Reuse", destroying a Link Monster he controls to Special Summon a monster from his GY with ATK lower than the Tributed monster's ATK with its effects negated. He destroys "Linkuriboh" to Special Summon "Defcon Bird". Playmaker uses "Degrade Buster" and "Defcon Bird" to Link Summon "Recovery Sorcerer" (1500/←↓) to the zone the bottom-center Link Arrow of "Cyberse Witch" points to. Playmaker activates the effect of "Recovery Sorcerer" to Special Summon a monster in his GY that was destroyed this turn. He Special Summons "Linkuriboh". Playmaker uses "Linkuriboh" and the Link-2 "Recovery Sorcerer" to Link Summon "Shootingcode Talker" (2300/↑←↓) to the zone the bottom-center Link Arrow of "Cyberse Witch" points to. Playmaker activates the effect of "Shootingcode Talker" to let it attack additional times equal to the number of monsters "Shootingcode Talker" points to, in this case, two, letting "Shootingcode Talker" attack three times this Battle Phase. "Shootingcode Talker" attacks and destroys "Coolant Hydradrive". As "Coolant Hydradrive" was destroyed, Bohman activates its effect to Special Summon a "Hydradrive Token" (0/0) in Defense Position. "Shootingcode Talker" attacks and destroys the "Hydradrive Token". "Shootingcode Talker" attacks "Covered Hydradrive". As "Shootingcode Talker" activated its effect and is attacking while Bohman controls one monster, it loses 400 ATK ("Shootingcode Talker": 2300 → 1900 ATK) (Bohman: 1900 → 0 LP).

Featured cards

The following cards appeared in this episode. Card in italics debuted here.

Differences in adaptations:

 • When "Shootingcode Talker" attacks "Covered Hydradrive", the shot of "Covered Hydradrive" being impaled in ice is cut from the dub.
