With 4000 LP and still controlling the 2400 ATK "Storm Cipher", 2300 ATK "Boot Staggered", and 2000 ATK "Linkslayer", Playmaker swoops across the skies of LINK VRAINS. Soulburner notes that The Gore's ace monster, the 3000 ATK "Dinowrestler King T Wrextle" has appeared, and Blue Maiden adds that it has more ATK than Playmaker's monsters. Soulburner agrees, but as The Gore points out, the ATK of "King T Wrextle" is increased by 600 due to the effect of the corrupted "G Golem Crystal Heart", to 3600. He Summons "Dinowrestler Valeonyx" and activates it effect targeting "King T Wrextle" as it was Summoned, and "King T Wrextle" roars as Playmaker watches. Gore Sets a card, then declares battle, having "King T Wrextle" attack "Storm Cipher". As "King T Wrextle" lunges forwards, the effect of "World Dino Wrestling" increases its ATK by 200 to 3800. It gut punches "Storm Cipher" and sends it flying, reducing Playmaker to 2600 LP. As the "Storm Cipher" that it targeted was destroyed, Gore then activates the effect of "Crazy Evolution" from his Graveyard, banishing it to draw a card, then ending his turn. Ai snaps that "Crystal Heart" belongs to Earth and he tells Gore to take care of it until they get it back, and Gore replies that they cannot defeat him. One of Zaizen's staff declares that the synchronicity between The Gore and the A.I. is increasing. Gore sees himself in his other world, Playmaker appearing within it. He clenches his fist over Playmaker's images, and he declares that he's almost there; he's almost become a perfect Duelist. Ai observes that Playmaker seems unsure whether to defeat The Gore, and protests that this is about revenge for Earth. No matter how Playmaker feels about Gore, he's only thinking about crushing Playmaker; crushing them.

Playmaker replies that he knows, and he declares his turn and draws. He Summons "Dotscaper" and chants "Appear! The circuit that leads to the future!" setting "Dotscaper" and Link Summoning the Link-1 "Linkuriboh". The effect of "Dotscaper" then activates as it was sent to the Graveyard, Special Summoning itself. He chants "Appear! The circuit that leads to the future!" again and declares that the Summoning conditions are two monsters, setting "Dotscaper" and "Boot Staggered" to Link Summon the Link-2 "Security Dragon". Playmaker then activates the effect of "Security Dragon"; once while it is co-linked, it can return one of Gore's monsters to his hand. Ai tells "T Wrextle" to go home, but Gore explains that the effect of "Valeonyx" will prevent "King T Wrextle" from being affected by the effects of monsters with an equal or lower Link Rating. Ai freaks out, and the glow surrounding "King T Wrextle" fades and it roars. Playmaker observes that this was the effect of "Valeonyx" that activated in the previous turn, and Gore smiles, declaring that the effects of Link-3 or lower monsters are useless against "King T Wrextle". Playmaker states that a Link-4 monster can affect it, and he Special Summons "Cross Debug" from his hand since he controls at least two Link Monsters. Gore watches as Playmaker chants "Appear for a third time! The circuit that leads to the future!" He sets "Linkslayer", "Cross Debug" and the Link-2 "Security Dragon" in the Link Arrows, Link Summoning the Link-4 "Firewall Dragon". Playmaker activates the effect of "Firewall Dragon", once it can return monsters to the hand up to the number of monsters it is co-linked to. "Firewall Dragon" draws back its head, crackling with electricity as Playmaker declares "Emergency Escape", and Ai thanks "King T Wrextle" for its time.

<!--@Gore warns Playmaker and Ai what will happen if he doesn't attack (the wide shot of the field including their monsters. I'm cramming in as much "Firewall Dragon" as I can for this summary).-->

Gore mutters that everything they do it within expectations, and he activates the Trap Card "Dino Deceit" since a monster with an equal or higher Link Rating than a "Dinowrestler" Link Monster he controls activated its effect, negating the effects of all monsters Playmaker controls. "Firewall Dragon" comes to rest, and Ai yelps in frustrations that they've been negated again. Gore adds that the effect of his Trap also allows him to Set a Spell or Trap from his hand, and will force Playmaker to battle this turn. Playmaker grits his teeth, and Soulburner reflects that when the Battle Phase starts, The Gore can activate the effect of "King T Wrextle" and choose which monster he attacks with. Blue Maiden notes that at the moment, Playmaker can only attack "King T Wrextle". Gore warns Playmaker that if he doesn't attack with the monster he selects, that monster will be destroyed at the end of the Battle Phase. He chooses "Firewall Dragon", and Ai notes that it's as expected, but they can't attack with "Firewall Dragon" in this situation. Gore asks if Playmaker will attack, or...? Playmaker doesn't respond, and Gore notes that he won't attack, so it's gone. "Firewall Dragon" disintegrates, and Ai curses as Playmaker ends his turn. Ai laments that in the end they couldn't do anything. Out on the speedboat, Specter comments to Ryoken that The Gore's Dueling has entered unknown territory now that he's been fused with an A.I. Ryoken notes that to defeat Playmaker, The Gore will still have to Duel beyond expectations.

Gore declares his turn and draws, declaring that he'll end Playmaker this turn. He Sets another card, then activates the Continuous Trap Card "Dino Domain", returning a "Dinowrestler" he controls to his hand. He chooses "King T Wrextle", and Ai is surprised that Gore returned his own monster despite preventing them from doing so last turn. But Gore explains that due to the effect of "Dino Domain", the effects of monsters Playmaker controls can't affect his monsters until the end of the turn, and when he controls a monster in the Extra Monster Zone, "Dino Domain" can't be targeted or destroyed by card effects. Soulburner notes that now effects can't affect The Gore's monsters, and Playmaker only controls "Linkuriboh", who can't use its effect. Blue Maiden wonders if that was worth returning The Gore's ace monster, "T Wrextle", but Aqua reminds them that Gore has "Crystal Heart". Sure enough, Gore activates the effect of "Crystal Heart", Special Summoning "Dinowrestler Terra Parkourio" from his Graveyard and placing a G Golem Counter on "Crystal Heart". A second ridge on the face of "Crystal Heart" lights up, and for each G Golem Counter, "Terra Parkourio" gains 600 ATK, increasing to 2200. Then Gore chants "Appear! The circuit to victory!" and sets "Valeonyx" and "Terra Parkourio" to Link Summon the Link-3 "Dinowrestler King T Wrextle" again. The effect of "Terra Parkourio" then activates as it was used as Link Material, Special Summoning "Valeonyx" from the Graveyard in Defense Position with its effects negated. Playmaker notes that "King T Wrextle" is once again in a zone that "Crystal Heart" is pointing to, and Gore reminds him that the effect of "Crystal Heart" will increase the ATK of "King T Wrextle" by 600 for every G Golem Counter on it. "King T Wrextle" powers up to 4200 ATK, and Gore declares that he's ending this as Playmaker narrows his eyes.

At SOL Technologies, The Gore's body twists around inside his VR chamber, and Zaizen notes that at this rate he'll be in physical danger and orders the staff to forcibly log him out. One of the staff protests, and Zaizen snaps that Gore can't take it anymore. But Queen reappears on a screen and warns Zaizen that she told him not to butt in, and to leave if he is unable to stop himself. Zaizen grits his teeth furiously.

Gore declares battle, and "King T Wrextle" attacks "Linkuriboh", raising a fist that brims with flaming power. Due to the effect of "World Dino Wrestling", "King T Wrextle" gains 200 ATK, rising to 4400. Playmaker activates the effect of "Cross Debug" from his Graveyard, banishing it and targeting "Firewall Dragon" in his Graveyard to prevent "Linkuriboh" from being destroyed and increasing its ATK by that of "Firewall Dragon". "Linkuriboh" powers up to 2800 ATK with a resolute look as "King T Wrextle" punches it in the face and flings it backwards. Gore warns Playmaker that he'll still take damage, and Playmaker falls to 1000 LP. The ATK of "King T Wrextle" and "Linkuriboh" both return to normal, and Playmaker grits his teeth. Gore comments that this is fine; the more Playmaker fights back, the greater heights Gore reaches. He ends his turn, and Soulburner grimly notes that Playmaker managed to survive. Blue Maiden notes that he's surrounded on all sides, so no matter what Playmaker does, his next turn will be... Ai notes that they have 1000 LP left, so they can activate their Skill, but... Gore tells Playmaker to show him how he struggles pathetically until the very end, and Playmaker retorts that it might be pathetic, but he won't give up until the end.

<!--@Gore uses "Anti Skill" to destroy the Data Storm.-->

He declares his turn and draws "Grid Sweeper", scowling at his draw. A Data Storm begins to blow around them. Ai looks at Playmaker in surprise, don't tell him he's... Playmaker confirms that he is, and Ai protests that Gore has "Anti Skill", and he asks if Playmaker is desperate. Playmaker retorts that he'll bet on his instincts, and Ai asks if he's being serious. Gore asks "Instincts?" in confusion, and he tells Playmaker that relying on instincts means that he's fallen. Ai snaps that Gore is one to talk; he's all instinct himself. Gore retorts that that's why he gave that up and fused with an A.I. Playmaker is shocked by that statement, and he tells Ai "Let's go!" Ai agrees; let's be desperate. A Data Storm emerges and envelops them, and Soulburner and Blue Maiden gasp in shock. Gore calls it pointless, and Playmaker surfs into the Data Storm with a wild cry as Gore watches, activating his Skill, "Neo Storm Access". Gore reminds them that once per Duel he can negate their Skill, and the symbol appears over the back of his hand as he declares "Anti Skill", casting a ball of light into the Data Storm and dispelling it. Playmaker falls from the Data Storm, and Ai curses. The effect of Gore's Skill then allows him to draw two cards, and he tells Playmaker that it's over.

<!--@Playmaker is blasted from his Duel Board.-->

But Playmaker replies that he was waiting for this moment, and Gore asks "What?" Playmaker activates the Trap Card, "Draw Discharge", since Gore drew cards outside of the Draw Phase, and if there are monsters among them Gore will take damage equal to their ATK and the cards he drew will be banished. Gore realizes that Playmaker forced him to use "Anti Skill" so that it could be countered, and Ai bursts from Playmaker's Duel Disk and joyfully congratulates him. Playmaker warns The Gore that he'll lose if both of the cards he has drawn are high-ATK monsters, and Gore chuckles and congratulates Playmaker, as the cards he drew were "Dinowrestler Capoeiraptor" and "Dinowrestler Pankratops", with 1800 and 2600 ATK respectively. Ai cheers that it's a total of 4400, so they win, they've defeated The Gore. But Gore retorts that they're finished, much to Ai's surprise. Gore activates a Counter Trap Card, "Dino Sense", as he controls a "Dinowrestler" Link Monster, negating the activation of their Trap and banishing it, then inflicting 300 damage them for every monster he controls. With three, they take 900 damage. Three red boomerangs blast out of the card and slam into Playmaker, knocking him off his Duel Board and reducing him to 100 LP. Soulburner cries Playmaker's name, and he and Blue Maiden leap onto their Duel Boards and fly after him, but are too late to save him from crashing into the sandy hill below. Gore flies down to meet Playmaker as he struggles up, and he tells Playmaker that he expected him to try something against his "Anti Skill". Playmaker stands up, and Gore declares that there is nothing left that he can do. Soulburner and Blue Maiden land on another hill, and Flame notes that Gore dodged Playmaker's comeback attempt. Blue Maiden whispers Playmaker's name, and Soulburner gasps that Playmaker is going to lose. Ai laments that they're in a hopeless situation and sobs. But As Playmaker and Gore face off, winds begin to blow between them. Playmaker picks up on it, much to Gore's surprise, and Ai cheers out in excitement, congratulating Playmaker and telling him that his instincts really created a miracle. Playmaker asks Ai what he means, and Ai declares that it's not over yet, for a miraculous storm is about to blow.

<!--@Playmaker enters the Data Storm again to use his Skill a second time.-->

Then winds intensify, and then a Data Storm erupts towards them and Gore recoils from it in shock. Ai reveals that "Neo Storm Access" has another effect - when Playmaker has 100 or less LP, and his Skill didn't add a new card to his Extra Deck, he can once again add a random Cyberse monster in the Data Storm to his Extra Deck and then draw a card. Gore clenches his teeth in fury, and Blue Maiden and Soulburner gasp in shock. Playmaker lets out a cry and he leaps into the Data Storm from the ground, and the watching Ryoken smiles and he tells Playmaker to risk his life to achieve success. Ai yells "Seize the wind, Playmaker!" as Playmaker extends his hand forwards, crackling with blue lightning and declares "Neo Storm Access!" as he plunges his hand into the Data Storm. A massive ripple extends from his hand as a monster passes through the Data Storm beneath him and coalesces into a glowing card, and Playmaker leans forwards with a cry and grabs the card as he pierces through the Data Storm and emerges in freefall, then he draws a card. He lands on his Duel Board and rockets back up to face Gore, who snarls that Playmaker only has 100 LP, and he claims that he'll crush Playmaker's miracle and end him.

Playmaker Summons "Firewall Guardian", and he chants "Appear! The circuit that leads to the future!" and sets "Firewall Guardian" and "Linkuriboh" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon the Link-2 "Clock Lizard". As it was used to Link Summon, the effect of "Firewall Guardian" then Special Summons itself from the Graveyard, and then since there is a Field Spell Card on the field, Playmaker Special Summons "Grid Sweeper" from his hand. Playmaker then declares that he is overlaying the Level 4 "Firewall Guardian" and "Grid Sweeper", and the lines on his suit glow dark blue and lightning crackles from his Duel Disk as a blue X-shaped cybernetic array with four small red circles between the spokes materializes behind him. Soulburner asks what it is, and Blue Maiden asks if it isn't a Link Summon. Playmaker uses his two monsters to build the Overlay Network, and they disperse into colored particles and enter the red circles, causing a red circle to spin behind the portal, and datastream-like energy flows from the tips and forms a light blue galaxy-style portal in front of Playmaker. Playmaker chants "The wall of power that annihilates everything! Manifest as the dragon's fang! Xyz Summon! Appear, Rank 4! Firewall eXceed Dragon!" The new Xyz Monster appears with its twin Overlay Units rotating behind it in circles, with 2500 ATK.

<!--@The ATK of "Firewall eXceed Dragon" falls as Playmaker prepares to destroy one of Gore's cards.-->

Gore is shocked to see an Xyz Summon, and Playmaker activates the effect of "eXceed Dragon", detaching two Overlay Units to Special Summon a Link-4 Cyberse Link Monster from his Graveyard so that it is linked to "eXceed Dragon". He revives "Firewall Dragon", and adds that the Xyz Summoned "eXceed Dragon" will also gain 500 ATK for each Link Arrow that the monsters linked to it have. Ai states that "Firewall" is Link-4, and "Clock Lizard" is Link-2, and Playmaker finishes that "eXceed Dragon" will gain 3000 ATK, bringing it to 5500. Then Playmaker activates the "Emergency Escape" effect of "Firewall Dragon", and its head begins to crackle with electricity. Ai announces that they'll return "King T Wrextle" to Gore's hand. But Gore activates the effect of "Dino Domain", by returning a "Dinowrestler" to his hand, his monsters will be unaffected by the effects of Playmaker's monsters until the end of the turn. He returns "Valeonyx", who explodes into red particles, but Playmaker then activates the effect of "Grid Sweeper" from his Graveyard, banishing both it and "Clock Lizard" from his field to destroy a card Gore controls. As "eXceed Dragon" drops to 4500 ATK, Gore points out that his monsters aren't affected by the effects of Playmaker's monsters.

But Playmaker reveals that his target is "World Dino Wrestling", and the Field Spell explodes, allowing Playmaker to attack with more than one monster. He declares his Battle Phase, and Gore activates the effect of "King T Wrextle", forcing "Firewall Dragon" to attack first. Gore reminds him that it only has 2500 ATK in comparison to the 4200 ATK of "King T Wrextle", so if it attacks, Playmaker will lose all his LP, and so he can't attack. Ai curses that it's happened again, but Playmaker attacks anyway, much to Gore's shock, and as "Firewall Dragon" turns red, Ai screams "Noooo!" in shock. Soulburner asks Playmaker if he wants to self-destruct, but Playmaker activates the effect of "Firewall Guardian" from his Graveyard since he declared an attack, banishing it from the Graveyard to negate "Firewall Dragon's" attack and causing it to fade back to blue. Then, Gore's monster can only be affected by its own effects until the end of this turn and its ATK becomes zero. Gore gasps "zero ATK?!" as his bloodshot eyes swell into balls resembling Earth, and Ai comments that even God or Ai couldn't have anticipated this. Playmaker attacks "King T Wrextle" with "Firewall eXceed Dragon", who spreads its blue hardlight wings and attacks with "Rising Crypt Limit", blasting "King T Wrextle" away. Gore is defeated, blasted off his Duel Board as his LP falls to zero, and as he falls he remembers his childhood, his battles with and alongside Playmaker and his allies, and the children at Den City's orphanage. Tears brim in his eyes as he sees Playmaker above him, and he futily reaches for Playmaker and gasps his name as he falls, landing in a tree that cushions his fall and falling to its roots.

Alarms blare at SOL Technologies as Zaizen orders his staff to log Gore out now. Gore's body shakes in the pod as Queen contacts them and urgently orders them to activate the capture unit. Back in LINK VRAINS, Ai transforms into his monster form and he snarls that he's taking back Earth's data. He bites into Gore's Duel Disk, but then angry red roots erupt from the ground and Gore's eyes snap open, glowing red. Ai yelps and he asks what's going on as Kolter watches in silent shock from Café Nom. Gore is suspended above their cage of roots - but then he suddenly logs out, much to Ai's surprise. Kolter breathes a sigh of relief.

Atop the tree, Playmaker hands the "G Golem Crystal Heart" card to Blue Maiden, and she realizes what it is. Ai explains that it was the only thing they managed to retrieve and he tells Aqua to hold onto it, as that would make Earth the happiest. Aqua whispers Ai's name, and Flame declares that now Earth will be able to rest easy before looking at the sky. Ai, Playmaker, Aqua, Blue Maiden, and Soulburner all look up as well, and Blue Maiden wonders if The Gore is okay. Soulburner admits that Gore may also be a victim  of this fight, and Playmaker declares that they can't waste time; they have to end this fight quickly.

"What's Beyond Instincts" is the eighty-second episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS anime. It first aired in Japan on December 19, 2018.

Playmaker has somehow survived The Gore's brutal attack. He attempts to turn things around with his Skill, but The Gore then negates it with Anti Skill. Playmaker is now totally driven into a corner. Is there any way he can get out of this one?!

Summary

The effect of "Dotscaper" then activates as it was sent to the Graveyard, Special Summoning itself. He chants "Appear! Blue Maiden notes that at the moment, Playmaker can only attack "King T Wrextle". The effect of "Terra Parkourio" then activates as it was used as Link Material, Special Summoning "Valeonyx" from the Graveyard in Defense Position with its effects negated.

At SOL Technologies, Queen furiously asks Zaizen what he's doing. Zaizen, having forcibly logged Gore out himself manually, angrily asks Queen if she wants to make them murders, and Queen scowls at him in rage.

Featured Duel: Playmaker vs. The Gore

Duel continues from the previous episode.

Playmaker has 4000 LP and controls "Boot Staggered" (2300/500), "Storm Cipher" (2400/0), and "Linkslayer" (2000/600), all in Attack Position, as well as 1 Set card in his Spell & Trap Zone. The Gore has 4000 LP and controls "G Golem Crystal Heart" (0/←↓) (with 1 G Golem Counter) in the Extra Monster Zone and "Dinowrestler King T Wrextle" (3000/↙↓↘) in the Main Monster Zone the zone the bottom-center Link Arrow of "Crystal Heart" points to, as well as "World Dino Wrestling" in his Field Zone.

Turn 3: Gore
The effect of "G Golem Crystal Heart" increases the ATK of all EARTH monsters it points to by 600 for each G Golem Counter on it ("Dinowrestler King T Wrextle": 3000 → 3600 ATK). Gore Normal Summons "Dinowrestler Valeonyx" (1600/0). As "Valeonyx" was Normal Summoned, Gore activates its effect, targeting a "Dinowrestler" Link Monster he controls and make it unaffected by the activated effects of his opponent's monsters with an equal or lower Link Rating. He targets "King T Wrextle". Gore Sets a card.

"King T Wrextle" attacks "Storm Cipher". As Gore's "Dinowrestler" monster is attacking Playmaker's monster, the effect of "World Dino Wrestling" increases its ATK by 200 during damage calculation only ("King T Wrextle": 3600 → 3800 ATK). The attack continues and "Storm Cipher" is destroyed (Playmaker: 4000 → 2600 LP). As the monster targeted by the effect of "Crazy Evolution" is destroyed by battle or card effect, Gore activates its effect, banishing it from his GY to draw a card.

Turn 4: Playmaker
Playmaker Normal Summons "Dotscaper" (0/2100). Playmaker sets "Dotscaper" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "Linkuriboh" (300/↓) to the Extra Monster Zone. As "Dotscaper" was sent to the GY, Playmaker activates its effect, Special Summoning it (0/2100). Playmaker sets "Boot Staggered" and "Dotscaper" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "Security Dragon" (1100/↑↓) to the zone the bottom-center Link Arrow of "Linkuriboh" points to. As "Security Dragon" is co-linked, Playmaker activates its effect, targeting a monster Gore controls and returning it to the hand. He targets "King T Wrextle". The effect of "Valeonyx" makes the targeted "King T Wrextle" unaffected by the effects of monsters with equal or lower Link Rating that it. As Playmaker controls two or more Link Monsters, he activates the effect of "Cross Debug" in his hand, Special Summoning it (900/600). Playmaker sets "Linkslayer", "Cross Debug", and the Link-2 "Security Dragon" to Link Summon "Firewall Dragon" (2500/↑←↓→) to the zone the bottom-center Link Arrow of "Linkuriboh" points to. Playmaker activates the effect of "Firewall Dragon", targeting monsters on the field and/or GY, up to the number of monsters co-linked to "Firewall Dragon", and returning them to the hand. He targets "King T Wrextle", but as Playmaker activated the effect of a Link Monster whose Link Rating is higher than or equal to the Link Rating of a "Dinowrestler" Link Monster Gore controls, Gore activates his face-down Trap "Dino Deceit", negating the effects of all face-up monsters Playmaker controls, then Gore can Set a Spell/Trap from his hand, then if this effect was activated during Playmaker's turn, Playmaker must conduct his Battle Phase this turn. The effects of "Linkuriboh" and "Firewall Dragon" are negated, and Gore Sets a card. At the start of Playmaker's Battle Phase, Gore activates the effect of "King T Wrextle", targeting an Attack Position monster Playmaker controls, and during this Battle Phase, Playmaker cannot attack with other monsters until that one has, and if it does not declare an attack, it is destroyed at the end of the Battle Phase. He targets "Firewall Dragon". Playmaker ends his Battle Phase and "Firewall Dragon" is destroyed.

Turn 5: Gore
Gore Sets a card. Gore activates his face-down Continuous Trap "Dino Domain", and activates its effect, targeting a "Dinowrestler" monster he controls and returning it to the hand, then all face-up monsters he controls are unaffected by the effects of monsters Playmaker controls until the end of this turn. He targets and returns "King T Wrextle" to his Extra Deck. If Gore controls a monster in the Extra Monster Zone, the effect of "Dino Domain" prevents it from being targeted or destroyed by card effects. Gore activates the effect of "Crystal Heart", targeting an EARTH Link Monster in his GY and Special Summoning it to his field so it is co-linked to "Crystal Heart", then placing a G Golem Counter on "Crystal Heart". He targets and Special Summons "Dinowrestler Terra Parkourio" (1000 → 1600/←↑) to the zone the bottom-center Link Arrow of "Crystal Heart" points to ("Crystal Heart": 1 → 2 G Golem Counters, "Terra Parkourio": 1600 → 2200 ATK). Gore sets "Terra Parkourio" and "Valeonyx" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "King T Wrextle" (3000 → 4200/↙↓↘) to the zone the bottom-center Link Arrow of "Crystal Heart" points to. As "Terra Parkourio" was sent to the GY as Link Material, Gore activates its effect, targeting a "Dinowrestler" monster in his GY and Special Summoning it in Defense Position, but its effects are negated, also Gore cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except "Dinowrestler" monsters. He targets and Special Summons "Valeonyx" (1600/0). "King T Wrextle" attacks "Linkuriboh" ("King T Wrextle": 4200 → 4400 ATK). During damage calculation, as Playmaker's Link Monster is battling Gore's Link Monster, Playmaker activates the effect of "Cross Debug" in his GY, banishing it, then targeting a Link Monster in his GY, and until the end of this turn, Playmaker's battling Link Monster cannot be destroyed by battle, also it gains ATK equal to the targeted Link Monster's ATK. He banishes "Cross Debug" and targets "Firewall Dragon" ("Linkuriboh": 300 → 2800 ATK). The attack continues and "Linkuriboh" is not destroyed (Playmaker: 2600 → 1000 LP).

Turn 6: Playmaker
Playmaker draws "Grid Sweeper". At this point, Playmaker enters the Data Storm. As Playmaker's LP is 1000 or less, he activates his Skill "Neo Storm Access", accessing a Cyberse monster at random from a nearby Data Storm and adding it to his Extra Deck. As Playmaker activated a Skill, Gore activates his Skill "Anti Skill", negating the Skill, then drawing two cards. "Neo Storm Access" is negated, then Gore draws two cards. As Gore drew cards except during the Draw Phase, Playmaker activates his face-down Trap "Draw Discharge", reveal the cards Gore drew, then if there are Monster Cards among them, Playmaker inflicts damage to Gore equal to the total ATK of those monsters, then banishes all cards Gore drew. Gore's drawn cards were "Dinowrestler Capoeiraptor" and "Dinowrestler Pankratops", with 1800 and 2600 ATK respectively, but as Playmaker activated a Trap Card while Gore controls a "Dinowrestler" Link Monster, Gore activates his face-down Trap Card "Dino Sense", negating the activation, then banishing that card, then inflicting damage to Playmaker equal to the number of monsters Gore controls x 300. The activation of "Draw Discharge" is negated[Error 1] and it is banished, then as Gore controls three monsters, he inflicts 900 damage to Playmaker (Playmaker: 1000 → 100 LP).

At this point, Playmaker enters the Data Storm again. As Playmaker's LP is 100 or less, and "Neo Storm Access" did not add a new card to his Extra Deck, he activates the other effect of "Neo Storm Access", accessing a Cyberse monster at random from a nearby Data Storm and adding it to his Extra Deck, then drawing a card. He obtains "Firewall eXceed Dragon", adds it to his Extra Deck, and draws a card.

Playmaker Normal Summons "Firewall Guardian" (100/2000). Playmaker sets "Firewall Guardian" and "Linkuriboh" to Link Summon "Clock Lizard" (1200/↙↓) to the Extra Monster Zone. As "Firewall Guardian" was sent to the GY as Link Material for the Link Summon of a Cyberse monster, Playmaker activates its effect, Special Summoning it (100/2000), but it is banished when it leaves the field. As a Field Spell is face-up on the field, Playmaker activates the effect of "Grid Sweeper" in his hand, Special Summoning it (100/2000).

Playmaker overlays the Level 4 "Grid Sweeper" and "Firewall Guardian" to Xyz Summon the Rank 4 "Firewall eXceed Dragon" (2500/2000, 2 ORU) to the zone the bottom-left Link Arrow of "Clock Lizard" points to. Playmaker activates the effect of "Firewall eXceed Dragon", detaching two materials from it, then targeting a Link-4 Cyberse Link Monster in his GY to Special Summon it to his field so that it points to "Firewall eXceed Dragon", but for the rest of this turn, Playmaker cannot Special Summon monsters, nor attack directly ("Firewall eXceed Dragon": 2 → 0 ORU). He targets and Special Summons "Firewall Dragon" to the zone to the right of "Firewall eXceed Dragon", so that its left Link Arrow points to "Firewall eXceed Dragon". The effect of the Xyz Summoned "Firewall eXceed Dragon" increases its ATK equal to the total Link Rating of the Link Monsters linked to it times 500. It is linked to the Link-2 "Clock Lizard" and the Link-4 "Firewall Dragon" ("Firewall eXceed Dragon": 2500 → 5500 ATK). Playmaker activates the effect of "Firewall Dragon", targeting monsters on the field and/or GY up to the number of monsters co-linked to "Firewall Dragon" and returning them to the hand. He targets "King T Wrextle", but Gore activates the effect of "Dino Domain", targeting a "Dinowrestler" monster he controls and returning it to the hand, then all face-up monsters he controls are unaffected by the effects of monsters Playmaker controls until the end of this turn. He targets and returns "Valeonyx". The effect of "Firewall Dragon" resolves, but "King T Wrextle" does not return to Gore's Extra Deck. Playmaker activates the effect of "Grid Sweeper" in his GY, banishing it and a Link Monster he controls to destroy a card Gore controls. He banishes "Clock Lizard" ("Firewall eXceed Dragon": 5500 → 4500 ATK) to destroy "World Dino Wrestling".

"Firewall Dragon" attacks "King T Wrextle". As an attack was declared involving Playmaker's Link Monster and Gore's Link Monster, Playmaker activates the effect of "Firewall Guardian" in his GY, banishing it to negate that attack, then until the end of this turn, Gore's monster's original ATK is changed to 0, also it is unaffected by card effects, except its own. The attack of "Firewall Dragon" is negated ("King T Wrextle": 4200 → 0 ATK). "Firewall eXceed Dragon" attacks and destroys "King T Wrextle" (Gore: 4000 → 0 LP).

Errors

 1. While the activation of "Draw Discharge" was negated, Gore still revealed the two cards he drew, though it is unclear whether he did this due to the effect forcing him to or of his own volition just to show Playmaker that he could've won through the effect damage.
