"A Breezy Battle", known as "Windy the Revenger" in the Japanese version, is the eighty-eighth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS anime. It first aired in Japan on February 6, 2019, and aired in Canada on October 11, 2020.

Before settling his score with Varis, the revived Windy attacks Soulburner in order to carry out Lightning's plan. With Windy's hatred for humans being now even greater than before, can Soulburner withstand his relentless assault?!

Summary

Lightning returns to his palace.

Varis, Blue Maiden, Aqua, Soulburner, Flame, Playmaker, and Ai all watch as the blue spheres above them vanish. Playmaker whispers Spectre's name, and Ai notes that they ended the broadcast (in the dub, he states that Spectre is gone and Ai wonders who's next). Spectre's feed vanishes on Kolter's monitor, and Kolter whispers Jin's name. Aqua warns Blue Maiden that they may be next to Duel and warns her to be careful (in the dub she suggests they review their strategies); Blue Maiden agrees. Soulburner admits that Lightning is truly strong, and Flame states that Lightning is special (in the dub Soulburner asks Flame if he thinks they have what it takes to win, and Flame replies that he does, because they must). Varis vows not to let Spectre's sacrifice go to waste (in the dub, he tells Spectre he will be avenged). In Lightning's palace, Windy stands on Echo's shoulder and tells Varis to wait; he'll erase him next. Lightning and Jin teleport into the room and Lightning tells Windy to wait and save Varis for later. Windy is shocked, angrily asking Lightning why he won't let him Duel Varis, remembering his infection and snarling that he's itching to defeat that punk. Lightning states that Windy has lost his cool, and when Windy throws up his hands angrily and asks him to wait a second, Lightning explains that he wants Windy to defeat someone else first. Windy acquiesces, and asks who Lightning wants him to Duel. Lightning notes that Bohman will probably Duel Blue Maiden, and Windy realizes who Lightning wants him to Duel. (In the dub, Lightning likens Varis to dessert and suggests Windy save him for last. Windy agrees and asks Lightning who he wants him to Duel; Lightning replies by asking Windy what wind blows out, and Windy realizes the answer - a flame.)

Windy and Echo arrive at the runway.

In the airport runway, Soulburner is walking down the landing strip (in the dub, he makes a joke about the planes being grounded for having bad altitude). Flame notes that it's an airplane graveyard, and a green jumbo jet suddenly shifts. Soulburner stops and asks if it just moved. Flame notes that no-one is on board, but then the other planes begin rotating and moving as well. Soulburner nervously asks what's going on, and Flame asks if ghost airplanes exists. Soulburner tensely tells Flame not to say things like that, and Flame muses that Soulburner is afraid of ghosts, prompting Soulburner to tell him to be quiet and ignore the notion. Flame interrupts him, asking if this is the wind. The planes have blocked Soulburner's way, and then a Data Storm touches down behind them, revealing Windy and Echo. Soulburner turns around, and Flame says Windy's name (in the dub, he has already deduced Windy to be responsible). Above them, Frog and Pigeon materialize in, Frog desperately asking where they are and Pigeon pointing out Soulburner and Echo. Windy notes that the broadcasters have arrived, and Frog smiles nervously and politely greets Windy, noting that they're broadcasting him this time. Pigeon states that he doesn't agree with this, but Frog reminds him that they'll be smashed to bits if they don't agree and orders him to film. The spheres expand again above Playmaker, Ai, Blue Maiden, Aqua and Varis, and Playmaker recognizes Windy, while Ai cries that he's with Soulburner. Flame muses that this is where they'll Duel, and Windy confirms it. Soulburner excitedly declares that he can't wait to Duel, but Windy tells Flame to prepare himself, ignoring Soulburner (in the dub, Windy tells him to be quiet since he's talking to Flame). Soulburner isn't happy about that, but Flame interrupts him too, commenting that he didn't expect Windy to come to them, suggesting that Windy is too scared to face Varis after losing to him. Windy snaps at Flame to stop messing around (in the dub he states that Lightning's strategy is to take out the weakest Duelists first), taking Soulburner and Flame aback, and Soulburner irritably asks if this means that Windy thinks that they're weaker than Varis. Flame says Soulburner's name cautiously (in the dub he is incredulous that out of all Windy has done, that statement is what Soulburner views as crossing the line), while Ai decides triumphantly that since they didn't come here, that means they think that he is the strongest, though Playmaker tells him to be quiet (in the dub he comments that it seems unlikely). Windy claims that he doesn't think they're weak, and Soulburner asks what he thinks. Windy cheekily tells him that he's super weak, and Soulburner gets riled up at Windy. Flame tells him not to lose his cool in front of Windy, and try to figure out his plan. Soulburner realizes that Flame is inciting Windy on purpose, and Flame reminds him that Windy lost his cool in his Duel with Varis and subsequently lost, so they should use his emotions to their advantage. Windy asks if they've finished discussing their strategy, and Flame replies that they'll defy Windy's expectations by not being weak. He succeeds in annoying Windy, who snarls that he never liked Flame, who always acts like he knows everything (in the dub, Windy claims he wasn't trying to annoy them, though he admits it would be to his benefit, before snarling that he never liked Flame). Flame calmly replies that he doesn't dislike Windy, since he wasn't always so twisted (in the dub he also states that Windy was peaceful, loving and carefree). He asks Windy what happened, and Windy replies that nothing did; this is him. Flame replies that he won't be able to forgive Windy if that's true; they believed in Windy, but he betrayed them, and he and Lightning destroyed their homeworld (in the dub Flame insists that Windy was never like this and he wants to know why he changed). Windy snaps that he doesn't want them to forgive him anyway, and he claims to be tired of talking and declares that he'll pummel them nice and quickly. Soulburner asks Flame if Windy is losing his cool, and Flame admits that he hopes so. Both Duelists cry "Duel!"

Soulburner is forced to reveal his hand.

Ai tells Flame to be careful, as Windy is dangerous and eliminated his own partner; he'll do anything to win. The Master Duel field materializes, and Windy takes the first turn, activating the effect of "Stormrider Griffore" from his hand as there are no cards on the field, allowing him to look at Soulburner's hand, and Set a Spell or Trap Card from Soulburner's hand to Special Summon "Griffore". Soulburner isn't happy that Windy is already meddling with their hand, and Windy tells him to show him his cards. Soulburner scowls and he hold up his hand - "Salamangreat Mole", "Salamangreat Fowl", "Salamangreat Claw", "Salamangreat Beat Bison" and "Salamangreat Roar". Windy checks them out, then tells Soulburner to Set the Counter Trap, "Salamangreat Roar", which Flame notes (in the dub he notes that it's a useful Trap and wonders why Windy would let them have it). Windy then Special Summons "Griffore", then activates the effect of the "Stormrider Hippogriff" in his hand, Special Summoning it since Soulburner has a card in his Spell & Trap Zone. He chants "Appear! The circuit that rages before me!" and declares that the Summoning conditions are two "Stormrider" monsters, setting "Griffore" and "Hippogriff" to Link Summon the Link-2 "Stormridership Rockbuster." Windy then activates the effect of "Hippogriff" as it was used as Link Material and Soulburner only has one card in his Spell & Trap Zone, sending that card to the Graveyard, then allowing Soulburner to draw a card. Soulburner scowls as he draws, and Windy laughs and declares that he isn't done yet (in the dub he comments that he'll do them a favor), activating the effect of "Stormrider Skyfisher" from his hand as he has no cards in his Spell & Trap Zone, Special Summoning it, and then forcing Soulburner to Set a Spell or Trap Card from his Graveyard. Soulburner isn't happy that Windy is basically playing the Duel for them, but Sets "Salamangreat Roar" from his Graveyard. Windy adds that a card Set by the effect of "Skyfisher" can't be activated, much to Soulburner's irritation (in the dub Windy comments that's no way to thank him, though it is the smart thing to do). Windy then chants "Appear again! The circuit that rages before me!" and declares that the Summoning conditions are at least two "Stormriders", setting "Rockbuster" and "Skyfisher" to Link Summon the Link-3 "Stormridership Bahamut Bomber". Ai is shocked that Windy summoned his ace monster on the first turn. Windy activates the effect of "Bahamut Bomber" as he Special Summoned it while he had no cards in his Spell & Trap Zone, destroying a card Soulburner controls and inflicting 500 damage to him. He mockingly declares that it's lucky that Soulburner has a Set card, and "Roar" explodes, reducing Soulburner to 3500 LP. Soulburner groans over Windy's bad acting, noting that he used "Roar" to his advantage. Windy claims that it's just a light jab, and he'll K.O. Soulburner later (in the dub he comments that it was clear he'd do that and tells "Mr. Obvious" that it's his turn).

Soulburner's Deck works well, swiftly Summoning monsters.

Soulburner growls that Windy is getting on his nerves, and Flame says his name sharply. Soulburner replies that he knows, and calls "Here we go!" and declares his turn and draws. He Summons "Salamangreat Falco", and chants "Appear! The circuit that changes the future!" He explains that the Summoning condition is one Level 4 or lower Cyberse monster, so he sets "Falco" to Link Summon the Link 1 "Salamangreat Balelynx". As it was Link Summoned, the effect of "Balelynx" activates, adding the Field Spell Card "Salamangreat Sanctuary" from his Deck to his hand. Soulburner muses that he can use the effect of "Falco" to re-set "Salamangreat Roar" from his Graveyard, though Flame notes that it would only be destroyed by the effect of "Bahamut Bomber". Soulburner agrees, so he activates the effect of "Salamangreat Mole" from his hand since he Link Summoned this turn, Special Summoning it to the zone that "Balelynx" points to. Then he chants "Appear again! The circuit that changes the future!" and declares that the Summoning conditions are two FIRE Effect Monsters, setting "Balelynx" and "Mole" to Link Summon the Link-2 "Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf". Then since he Normal or Special Summoned another "Salamangreat" monster, he Special Summons "Salamangreat Fowl" from his hand. Special Summoning "Fowl" to the zone that "Sunlight Wolf" points to activates its effect, allowing Soulburner to add a "Salamangreat" monster from his Graveyard to his hand, so he adds "Falco". Ai comments to Playmaker that Soulburner's Deck is working pretty well. Soulburner chants "Appear for a third time! The circuit that changes the future!" and declares that the Summoning conditions are at least two FIRE Effect Monsters, so he sets "Sunlight Wolf" and "Fowl" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon the Link-3 "Salamangreat Heatleo".

Windy's partner talking with friends in the past, before Windy eliminated him.

Soulburner then activates the Field Spell Card "Salamangreat Sanctuary", and he declares that now he's ready and he's coming. Flame urges him not to rush the Duel, and Soulburner asks what he means; now's the time to go for it. Flame seems unsure (in the dub he is more insistent), and Windy giggles, commenting that Soulburner's a nuisance isn't he? Flame seems surprised by the term, and Windy asks Flame if he doesn't want to fight using his own will, claiming that partners are a nuisance. Flame asks if that's why Windy eliminated his own partner, and Windy happily confirms that it is. Soulburner asks him how it felt to eliminate his partner, and Windy seems confused by the question (in the dub, Soulburner asks Windy what gives him the right to eliminate his partner like that). Soulburner yells that he's asking Windy how he felt, and Windy dismissively replies that he didn't feel anything other than getting rid of a nuisance (in the dub he compares it to Soulburner deleting a file). The term infuriates Soulburner, who snarls that during the Lost Incident the captured spent every day in an unimaginable situation. Playmaker and Ai watch as Soulburner states that they felt despair day after day, but held onto the tiniest hope that someone would save them someday. Varis watches as Soulburner declares that they were so happy when that hope became reality. Lightning watches as Soulburner asks incredulously if Windy stole that from his partner because he thought he was a nuisance, and Windy replies that he did (in the dub, Soulburner states that one good thing has come from the Lost Incident; Flame. He is incredulous that Windy would kill his own best friend). Soulburner snarls that Windy doesn't know what it's like to finally get hope and have it stolen away. Windy recalls looking at his partner - a boy with hair shaped in a similar manner to Windy's head - talking happily with his friends and admits that it did look like he felt hope. He recalls taking action, the tires of a car screeching and slamming into a wall with a crash under a blood moon, and he softly calls it lame. Flame seethes that they were able to be created because the children of the Lost Incident spent day after day enduring despair, so they should thank those children. They have no right to steal their hope (in the dub, Windy does not speak as he recalls eliminating his partner. Soulburner tells Windy what a best friend would mean to him and warns him that he's thrown that all away, and Flame reinforces this, stating that it may not seem logical, but they are stronger together than their sum). Ai and Aqua are both shocked by Flame's passion (in the dub, Ai tells Playmaker not to correct him this time and Aqua agrees with Flame), and Varis grits his teeth, while Lightning grimly notes that it seems that Flame has completely lost his way (in the dub he adds that the only solution is to delete him). Windy sarcastically comments that he gets it; he should say thank you for creating him? He vehemently refuses, vowing to make Flame understand that partners are pointless and a hindrance. Flame snarls Windy's name, and Windy cheerfully tells him that he'll understand by the time he's erased. Flame snarls that he never thought Windy was this rotten, and Soulburner declares that there's been enough talk; Soulburner will crush him without mercy. Flame admits that he doesn't like violent words, but he'll ignore it this time. (In the dub Windy feigns remorse, before admitting he's regretting letting Flame lecture him. Flame is despondent about not being able to get through to Windy, and Soulburner tells him that he can't, so they agree to let their skills do the talking.)

Soulburner activates the effect of his "Salamangreat Beat Bison".

Windy dismissively claims that the winds of victory blow with him (in the dub he agrees with them and asks to make the first retort), and he activates the effect of "Stormrider Gargoylead" from his hand as his opponent activated a Field Spell, sending it to the Graveyard to activate his own Field Spell, "Stormrider Turbulence" from his Deck. Due to the effect of "Turbulence", "Stormrider" monsters he controls gain 300 ATK. Windy notes that Soulburner plans to Reincarnation Link Summon "Heatleo" and use its effect to lower the ATK of "Bahamut Bomber", but it's too bad since when he controls only one "Stormrider" Link Monster and Soulburner Special Summons a Link Monster with and equal or greater Link Rating, the effect of "Stormrider Turbulence" will negate the effect of that Link Monster until Soulburner's next turn. He taunts Soulburner, claiming that he can't reincarnate, but Soulburner isn't done. He Special Summons "Salamangreat Beat Bison" from his hand in Defense Position since he has at least three "Salamangreat" monsters in his Graveyard, then he activates its effect; for every face-up card Windy controls, Soulburner can return a FIRE Link Monster in his Graveyard to his Extra Deck, and negate the effects of the same number of cards Windy controls. He returns "Sunlight Wolf", then negates the effect of "Turbulence", returning "Bahamut Bomber" to 2800 ATK. Then Soulburner activates the effect of "Salamangreat Sanctuary", allowing him to Link Summon a "Salamangreat" Link Monster using a copy of that monster as the entire material, and he declares a Reincarnation Link Summon, ordering "Salamangreat Heatleo" to appear again. The flaming "Heatleo" appears, and Playmaker notes that now Soulburner can use the effect of "Heatleo" to lower the ATK of "Bahamut Bomber". Ai cheers, telling Soulburner to start his counterattack.

"Salamangreat Heatleo" endures the counterattack of "Bahamut Bomber".

But Windy snaps that it's not good enough, and he banishes "Gargoylead" from his Graveyard to activate its second effect, sending "Turbulence" to his Graveyard to activate the Field Spell Card "Stormrider Blast" from his Deck. "Stormrider" monsters he controls gain 400 ATK, and an additional 300 for each "Stormrider" Field Spell in his Graveyard. "Bahamut Bomber" rises to 3200 and then 3500 ATK, though Blue Maiden notes that it's pointless with the effect of "Heatleo" in play. But Windy then reveals that due to the effect of "Stormrider Blast" the effects of Soulburner's Link Monsters are negated if their Link Rating is equal to or lower than that of "Bahamut Bomber", and when there's a "Stormrider" Link Monster in his Extra Monster Zone, Soulburner's monsters can only attack it, and all monsters that can attack must. Energy blossoms at "Bahamut Bomber's" cannons, and Soulburner and Flame curse in shock. Windy mockingly tells them to bring it on, and Soulburner declares his Battle Phase and attacks "Bahamut Bomber" with "Heatleo". As "Heatleo" charges forwards, Windy bids the little "Leo" goodbye and tells it not to reincarnate again, and "Bahamut Bomber" opens fire, engulfing "Heatleo" in blue energy. But Soulburner activates the effect of "Balelynx" in his Graveyard as a "Salamangreat" monster he controls would be destroyed, banishing it instead. Flame declares that now "Heatleo" won't be destroyed, though Windy points out that Soulburner will still take the damage, and Soulburner falls to 2300 LP, before ending his turn. Windy comments that it's too bad that Soulburner went all out but didn't even take a step. He asks if Flame understands now that human partners can't do much. Flame calmly replies that he disagrees. (In the dub, Windy comments that Flame was right when he said they shouldn't attack but Soulburner overruled him and it backfired; Flame is silent.)

"Stormridership Stolastorm" easily lifts "Salamangreat Beat Bison".

Windy calls Flame pathetic, declares his turn, and draws. He activates the effect of "Stormrider Skyfisher" from his hand, Special Summoning it, then forcing Soulburner to Set a Spell or Trap from his Graveyard. Once again, Soulburner Sets "Salamangreat Roar", and once again Windy activates the effect of "Bahamut Bomber" to destroy that card, then inflict 500 damage to Soulburner. "Bahamut Bomber" destroys "Roar" with a wave of echolocation, reducing him to 1800 LP, and Windy chants "Appear! The circuit that rages before me!" He declares that the Summoning condition is one Level 2 or lower "Stormrider" monster, setting "Skyfisher" to Link Summon the Link-1 "Stormridership Stolastorm". It has 1500 ATK, but gains 700 more due to the effect of "Stormrider Blast", rising to 2200. Windy claims that he'll blow out their tiny flame with his wind, and he declares his Battle Phase, attacking "Heatleo" with "Bahamut Bomber". "Bahamut Bomber" blasts a salvo of blue light at "Heatleo", consuming it and reducing Soulburner to 600 LP. But Windy isn't done yet, attacking "Beat Bison" with "Stolastorm", who launches one of its claws on a chain, lifts "Beat Bison" into the air, and throws it to the pavement. Aqua gasps that Soulburner's monsters have all been destroyed, and Ai yelps that it's a horrible turn of events. Playmaker whispers Soulburner's name (in the dub he comments that this doesn't look good) and Windy activates the effect of "Stolastorm", banishing it until his next turn. Soulburner muses that Windy banished his own Link Monster, and Flame explains that if he controls two, he won't be able to protect himself with "Stormrider Blast"; Windy may be rotten, but he's still an Ignis (in the dub, Soulburner is more concerned that he can't attack it, and Flame points out that's why Windy did it). Windy cheerfully congratulates Flame; as a prize, they get a pair of tickets for a wonderful trip to hell, snarling at both of them to vanish and never return. Soulburner and Flame don't reply, while Lightning warns Windy not to let his guard down until the end (in the dub Lightning believes the Duel to be as good as Windy's). Windy ends his turn, chiding Flame for being unable to make a single good move, while Windy is on top of his game and will blow them out with his wind (in the dub, Windy admits he knows he's tempting fate, but it isn't enough of a factor with the lead he has).

Flame casually comments that Windy says he'll blow out their flame, and Soulburner agrees that their LP are like a candle in the wind so Windy has the right to brag. Flame adds that Soulburner isn't the type of Duelist who will lose this way, and Soulburner agrees that of course he isn't; he won't let it end like this (in the dub, Flame asks if this means that when they make a comeback it will be amazing). Windy mockingly notes that they're encouraging each other and calls it beautiful, before irritably asking if this is what they call a partnership. Soulburner replies that he's right; partners are important, and Soulburner will get revenge for Windy's. Windy shrieks madly with laughter, and he challenges Soulburner to try it if he can. (In the dub, Soulburner states that he and Flame will take Windy down together, and Windy claims that he can already see cracks in their partnership and he'll break it.)

Featured Duel: Soulburner vs Windy

Soulburner VS Windy.png

The Duel is conducted as a Master Duel.

Turn 1: Windy
As there are no cards on the field, Windy activates the effect of "Stormrider Griffore" in his hand, looking at Soulburner's hand, and if he has a Spell/Trap(s) in his hand, Windy Sets one of them to Soulburner's field, then Windy Special Summons it. Soulburner's hand contains "Salamangreat Mole", "Salamangreat Fowl", "Salamangreat Claw", "Salamangreat Beat Bison" and "Salamangreat Roar", then Windy Sets "Roar" to Soulburner's field and Special Summons "Griffore" (1200/800). As Soulburner controls a card in his Spell & Trap Zone, Windy activates the effect of "Stormrider Hippogriff" in his hand, Special Summoning it (800/1200). Windy sets "Griffore" and "Hippogriff" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "Stormridership Rockbuster" (2000/↑↓) to the Extra Monster Zone. As Windy used "Hippogriff" as material for a Link Summon while Soulburner controls exactly one card in his Spell & Trap Zone, Windy activates its effect, sending Soulburner's Set card to the GY, then Soulburner draws a card. Soulburner's Set "Roar" is sent to the GY, and he draws a card. As Windy controls no cards in his Spell & Trap Zones and Main Monster Zones, he activates the effect of "Stormrider Skyfisher", Special Summoning it from his hand (???/0) in Defense Position, then Soulburner Sets a Spell/Trap from his GY to his field, but it cannot be activated. Soulburner Sets "Roar" from his GY. Windy sets "Skyfisher" and the Link-2 "Rockbuster" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "Stormridership Bahamut Bomber" (2800/↙↓↘) to the Extra Monster Zone. As "Bahamut Bomber" was Special Summoned while Windy controls no cards in his Spell & Trap Zone, he activates its effect, targeting a card Soulburner controls and destroying it, then inflicting 500 damage to him. He targets and destroys Soulburner's Set "Roar" (Soulburner: 4000 → 3500 LP).

Turn 2: Soulburner
Soulburner Normal Summons "Salamangreat Falco" (1200/1600). Soulburner sets "Falco" in the Link Arrow to Link Summon "Salamangreat Balelynx" (500/↓) to the Extra Monster Zone. As "Balelynx" was Link Summoned, Soulburner activates its effect, adding "Salamangreat Sanctuary" from his Deck to his hand. As Soulburner Link Summoned a Link Monster this turn, he activates the effect of "Salamangreat Mole" in his hand, Special Summoning it to his zone a Link Monster points to. He Special Summons it (0/0) to the zone the bottom-center Link Arrow of "Balelynx" points to. Soulburner sets "Mole" and "Balelynx" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf" (1800/↑↓) to the Extra Monster Zone. As a different "Salamangreat" monster was Normal or Special Summoned to Soulburner's field, he activates the effect of "Salamangreat Fowl", Special Summoning it. He Special Summons it (1800/200) to the zone the bottom-center Link Arrow of "Sunlight Wolf" points to. As a monster was Normal or Special Summoned to a zone "Sunlight Wolf" points to, Soulburner activates its effect, adding a "Salamangreat" monster from his GY to his hand. He adds "Falco". Soulburner sets "Fowl" and the Link-2 "Sunlight Wolf" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "Salamangreat Heatleo" (2300/↙↑↘). Soulburner activates the Field Spell "Salamangreat Sanctuary". As Soulburner activated a Field Spell Card or its effect, Windy activates the effect of "Stormrider Gargoylead" from his hand, sending it to the GY to activate the Field Spell "Stormrider Turbulence" directly from his Deck or GY. He activates it from his Deck. The effect of "Turbulence" increases the ATK of all "Stormrider" monsters on the field by 300 ("Bahamut Bomber": 2800 → 3100 ATK). As Soulburner has three or more "Salamangreat" monsters in his GY, he activates the effect of "Salamangreat Beat Bison" in his hand, Special Summoning it in Defense Position (2800/1000). Soulburner activates the effect of "Beat Bison", targeting FIRE Link Monsters in his GY up to the number of face-up cards Windy controls and returning them to the Extra Deck, then Soulburner can negate the effects of face-up cards Windy controls up to the number of cards returned until the end of this turn. He returns "Sunlight Wolf" and negates the effects of "Turbulence" ("Bahamut Bomber": 3100 → 2800 ATK).

If Soulburner Link Summons a "Salamangreat" Link Monster, the effect of "Sanctuary" allows him to use a "Salamangreat" Link Monster he controls with its same name as the entire material. Soulburner sets "Heatleo" in the Link Arrows to Reincarnation Link Summon "Heatleo" (2300/↙↑↘) to the Extra Monster Zone. As Windy controls a "Stormrider" Field Spell in his Field Zone, he activates the effect of "Gargoylead" in his GY, banishing it to send a "Stormrider" Field Spell he controls to the GY, then take a "Stormrider" Field Spell from his Deck with a different name, and either activate it or add it to his hand. He sends "Turbulence" to the GY, takes the Field Spell "Stormrider Blast" from his Deck, and activates it. The effects of "Blast" increase the ATK of all "Stormrider" monsters on the field by 400 ("Bahamut Bomber": 2800 → 3200 ATK) and by a further 300 for each "Stormrider" Field Spell in Windy's GY. Windy has one Field Spell in his GY ("Turbulence") ("Bahamut Bomber": 3200 → 3500 ATK). As Windy controls exactly one "Stormrider" Link Monster, the effect of "Blast" negates the effects of Link Monsters Soulburner controls with an equal or lower Link Rating. Windy controls the Link-3 "Bahamut Bomber", so the effects of the Link-3 "Heatleo" are negated. As Windy controls a "Stormrider" Link Monster in the Extra Monster Zone, the effect of "Blast" forces Soulburner's monsters to attack it, if able. "Heatleo" attacks "Bahamut Bomber". As a "Salamangreat" card Soulburner controls would be destroyed by battle or card effect, the effect of "Balelynx" allows him to banish "Balelynx" from his GY instead. The attack continues and "Heatleo" is not destroyed (Soulburner: 3500 → 2300 LP).

Turn 3: Windy
As Windy controls no cards in his Spell & Trap Zones and Main Monster Zones, he activates the effect of "Skyfisher", Special Summoning it from his hand (???/0) in Defense Position, then Soulburner Sets a Spell/Trap from his GY to his field, but it cannot be activated. Soulburner Sets "Roar" from his GY. Windy activates the effect of "Bahamut Bomber", targeting a card in Soulburner's Spell & Trap Zone and destroying it, then inflicting 500 damage to him. He targets and destroys Soulburner's Set "Roar" (Soulburner: 2300 → 1800 LP). Windy sets "Skyfisher" in the Link Arrow to Link Summon "Stormridership Stolastorm" (1500 → 1900 → 2200/↓) to the zone the bottom-left Link Arrow of "Bahamut Bomber" points to. "Bahamut Bomber" attacks and destroys "Heatleo" (Soulburner: 1800 → 600 LP). "Stolastorm" attacks and destroys "Beat Bison". Windy activates the effect of "Stolastorm", banishing it until his next Standby Phase.

Duel continues in the next episode.
