SummaryEdit

The Neuron Link activates again in LINK VRAINS, blasting out forks of green lightning that pierce the heads of several Avatars. Hiding behind a wall, The Brave Battler asks what's happening and he cries that it's enough already and begs to be allowed to log out. In the Central Station LINK VRAINS Control Center, Ghost Gal watches the Neuron Link activating on the screen beside her, lamenting that this is a nightmare as she continues coding. Zaizen explains that if Bohman was telling the truth, the Neuron Link will keep sacrificing the people logged into LINK VRAINS, and they need to stop this immediately (in the dub, Zaizen does not doubt Bohman's claims, stating that this is the worst wave yet). In Mirror LINK VRAINS, a massive Data Storm has begun to blow again and Ai observes it as Playmaker, on 4000 LP, notes that it's also using the people trapped within LINK VRAINS. They hear the screams of the trapped victims as Bohman, also on 4000 LP, tells the new card created from his will to come, declaring "Master Storm Access" (in the dub, this is the first time Bohman names his Skill) and materializing another card. The lightning vanishes from the heads of the newly afflicted Avatars in LINK VRAINS, who fall motionless to the ground, including one in front of The Brave Battler, who squeals in fear. On Roken's speedboat, Klarissa notes that the people in LINK VRAINS will continue to increase Bohman's power if nothing changes, and she orders her fellow Commanders to analyze the Neuron Link immediately (in the dub, she notes that they know what Bohman is doing, but not how). Dr. Genome chuckles, commenting that tackling a system this large is making him tremble with excitement. Alec tells him off, warning him that this isn't for fun, and Genome idly replies that he knows as he gets to work (in the dub, Alec is instead concerned with Genome's confidence, and Genome reassures him he's 50% sure).

Bohman activates the effect of "Chimera Hydradrive Dragrid", using a Hydradrive Counter to roll a die. The cross on "Dragrid's" central head stops glowing and Bohman declares "Judgment Dice" as he generates the die in his hands, stating that he can select a "Chimera Hydradrive Draghead" monster of the Attribute he rolls, then return "Dragrid" to the Extra Deck and Special Summon the selected "Draghead". He rolls WATER Attribute this time, and tells "Chimera Hydradrive Draghead - Aqua" to appear. Ai gasps "Aqua?" and "Dragrid" lowers its main head, retracts the blue-armored head and the center of "Dragrid" disgorges a light blue-scaled head with a thicker body, appearing with 4000 ATK (as it does in the dub, Bohman claims that he will use Aqua's powers to an extent that even she could not). Bohman activates the effect of "Aqua", negating the effects of all other monsters on the field other than those it points to. Playmaker gasps "What?" and Ai asks if this means that the effects of "Cyberse Quantum Dragon" are negated. Pigeon yelps that this means Playmaker won't be able to attack, and Frog laments that this was Playmaker's way to turn the tables. Playmaker is forced to Set a card and end his turn, and Bohman activates the effect of "Draghead - Aqua", returning it to the Extra Deck to Special Summon "Dragrid". "Aqua" retracts into "Dragrid's" body and emerges at its normal size at its shoulder, but still with its blue scales while the head of the 4000 ATK "Dragrid" rises up again, and due to its effect, Bohman places one Hydradrive Counter on it, causing its cross to light up again. He clams that he knew that Playmaker was going to Summon "Quantum", and Ai angrily asks how Bohman knew that. Bohman explains that the Neuron Link allowed him to hear many voices, and Playmaker asks "What?" Bohman explains that LINK VRAINS is filled with people who admire, awe, and want to challenge Playmaker, and he hears several voices observing what Playmaker will do, explaining that they have become part of his thinking. Playmaker realizes that this is how Bohman knew he would Summon "Quantum Dragon", and Bohman claims that he isn't Playmaker's only opponent; everyone in LINK VRAINS is also his enemy. Playmaker angrily asks if Bohman has trapped people in LINK VRAINS to use them for this (in the dub he is silent), and Ai warns Bohman that there's only a limited number of people in LINK VRAINS, so if Bohman keeps using them he'll eventually run out (in the dub, he notes that he doesn't want this) -

More Avatars are logged into LINK VRAINS and trapped by Bohman.

But Bohman claims that's not the case; the number of people in LINK VRAINS is increasing. Playmaker asks "What?" and Ai asks what Bohman means. Bohman explains that humans are naturally curious. In Den City Plaza a newsreader explains that SOL Technologies are receiving a deluge of complaints due to a greater system error than previously that is preventing LINK VRAINS' users from logging out. At Sol Technologies, Hayami contacts Zaizen and warns him that there's trouble; there's been a rapid increase in logins. Zaizen asks what she means, and Hayami explains that reports of the issues have spread all over the internet, so curious people are logging in. Zaizen protests that they won't be able to log out (in the dub, he observes that they curious users will find out the hard way what's going on) as many more Avatars appear in LINK VRAINS and marvel at the motionless Avatar littering the ground, noting that it would be horrible if it were real and it's a good thing they're only Avatars themselves. As another marvels over the tension, The Brave Battler asks why they're logging in, but flinches away in shock as lightning spears from the Neuron Link again and begins spearing through the heads of the newly logged-in Avatars. They begin to flee in terror, futilely trying to log out. The Brave Battler tearfully cries that it's happening again, and he cries that he wants to go home to the max (a play on his Japanese name of "Brave Max") as he hides behind a wall. At Café Nom, Alec muses that Bohman intentionally allowed logins, while Genome wonders in amusement why so many fools decided to log in (in the dub, Alec is the one to comment on their foolishness, and Genome the one to not Bohman's actions). Ghost Gal states that it's no good; the logins just keep on coming, and Zaizen angrily mutters that Bohman is using the foolishness of humans to his advantage (in the dub, he laments that Bohman will keep getting more powerful). Again, Playmaker and Ai hear the screams of Bohman's victims and they wince in discomfort, and Bohman declares that humans are logging in of their own free will.

The Brave Battler is struck by the Neuron Link.

He declares his turn and draws, then he activates his Skill. Ai cries that Bohman is using his Skill again (he is silent in the dub), and Bohman raises his glowing fist, claiming that they will be defeated by the same people that they're trying to save. In LINK VRAINS, The Brave Battler flees down the street as the Neuron Link activates again, spearing through the heads of more Avatars. He begs for it to stop and to be let out, and lets out a final cry of "Help me!" as a fork of lightning finally hits him (in the dub, The Brave Battler is cut off mid sentence as he voices his belief that he can outrun the lightning). The Data Storm that Bohman has conjured roils in LINK VRAINS, and once again Bohman tells the card created from his will to come forth, declaring "Master Storm Access". A new card coalesces in his hands as his newest victims, including The Brave Battler, finally fall motionless to the ground. Playmaker declares that they need to defeat Bohman and stop the Neuron Link to prevent him from claiming any more victims, and Ai agrees.

In the LVCC, Zaizen wonders if Bohman is selecting people in user account order, theorizing that they will be safe for now if Bohman is as they are using admin privileges. Ghost Gal notes that their turn will come eventually, and Zaizen states that they just need to shut the system down before then, though Ghost Gal warns him that just the two of them can't keep up with it. In Café Nom, Genome muses that the two LINK VRAINS overlap with one another, and Alec asks what that has to do with the Neuron Link (in the dub, Genome's explanation is more elaborate, and Alec criticizes Genome for taking so long to say so). Genomes grins and he explains that the overlap is the key to operating the system. Klarissa asks if pulling them apart will stop the Neuron Link, and Genome replies that he's guessing so. Klarissa suggests that they look into it, and Genome replies that he already is (in the dub, he admits that Klarissa's guess as to how to divide the two LINK VRAINS is as good as his own).

Back in Mirror LINK VRAINS, Bohman thanks Playmaker from his heart. Ai snaps that they don't need thanks from Bohman, and he asks if he even has a heart. Bohman replies that he does, and Playmaker is the one who developed it. In a way, Bohman is Playmaker's evolved form. Playmaker can't defeat him, so Bohman is willing to let him surrender. (In the dub, Bohman continues to claim that he knows all of Playmaker's strategies and that he won't be able to defeat him. Ai asks if this is when Bohman tells them to surrender, but Bohman insists that he would not disrespect them so, stating that Playmaker is the reason he is who he is today, though he still makes the following offer once he has defeated Playmaker as a sign of respect.) He will place Playmaker's data in a special place inside him, and Bohman will give him happiness forever. Ai angrily asks what happiness Bohman could possibly give Playmaker, and Bohman explains that there will be no Lost Incident, no loneliness, and no setbacks; memories that Playmaker should have had. Ai snaps that Bohman would be giving Playmaker fake memories, and Playmaker states that he doesn't need them, instead he will fulfill the wishes of his fallen comrades. Bohman asks if Playmaker doesn't like the new world he's creating, and Playmaker replies that he doesn't accept ideals built on the sacrifices of others. Bohman muses that Playmaker still thinks that humans are superior, and comments that it's too bad; Playmaker has such advanced ideas, but he's still trapped within the limits of humanity and he is insulting the worth of his own existence. Ai snaps that he's heard enough from Bohman, and Bohman again comments that it's too bad. (In the dub, Playmaker simply flatly refuses to allow Bohman to absorb him, and Bohman admits that it's as he expected, and he respects this the most about Playmaker. Ai can only thank Bohman in confusion). He activates the effect of "Chimera Hydradrive Dragrid", and he declares "Judgment Dice", rolling the FIRE Attribute and Special Summoning "Chimera Hydradrive Draghead - Flame". The orange-spined head retracts into "Dragrid", the central head droops, and the orange-spined head emerges from the center of "Dragrid" with maroon scales and swells as it appears with 4000 ATK as the "Chimera Hydradrive" is engulfed in a flaming aura. Ai is furious that Bohman is using Flame's power too and Bohman declares that this is the end; when "Draghead - Flame" is Special Summoned, it destroys all other monsters on the field that aren't in zones that it points to. Pigeon freaks out, protesting that Playmaker will be defeated if "Quantum Dragon" is gone, and Frog begs Playmaker to survive this. Bohman tells "Draghead - Flame" to go, and it releases a fireball from the maw of the maroon-scaled head.

"Cyberse Synchron" protects "Cyberse Quantum Dragon" from the effect of "Draghead - Flame".

But Playmaker activates the effect of "Cyberse Synchron" from his Graveyard as a monster in the Extra Monster Zone would be destroyed, banishing it to prevent that monster's destruction. "Cyberse Synchron" appears in front of "Cyberse Quantum Dragon", blocking the fireball with an energy shield, and Ai gasps that was close. Bohman comments that they avoided it, but declares his Battle Phase and orders "Draghead - Flame" to attack "Quantum Dragon", destroying it with a spurt of fire and reducing Playmaker to 2500 LP. Bohman ends his turn, and Ai sighs in relief that they managed to survive. Bohman then activates the effect of "Draghead - Flame", at the end of the turn he returns it to the Extra Deck to Special Summon "Dragrid". The maroon-scaled head of "Draghead - Flame" retracts back into "Dragrid's" body, reawakening "Dragrid", then emerges at the side again. The effect of "Dragrid" then places a Hydradrive Counter, and the red cross on its head lights up again.

Ghost Gal and Zaizen are contacted by Faust.

Alec suddenly gets an idea and stops typing. Genome asks what's wrong, and Alec replies that nothing is as they continue coding. Genome notes that they aren't making much progress, and Alec admits that it will take a long time to affect the systems of LINK VRAINS. Klarissa notes that Bohman managed to survive this turn, but Bohman may activate his Skill again next turn, and is so Playmaker will be in further trouble. But the mention of the Skill gives Alec an epiphany, and Genome asks what he means about the Skill. Alec admits that it's been bugging him; Bohman uses a lot of power whenever he uses his Skill, but can he still keep LINK VRAINS overlapped perfectly when he does so? There might be a vulnerability, and they could target that. (In the dub, Alec realizes this more quickly, and he immediately begins his explanation.) Genome muses that he sees, but Bohman only uses his Skill for a brief moment in time, which isn't long enough for them to overload it. Alec suggests that they could also attack it from LINK VRAINS, though Genome protests that they have no-one there. But Klarissa tells them that they do, and she brings up footage of Zaizen and Ghost Gal working in the LVCC. Genome recognizes them, and he asks if they will trust them. Klarissa replies that there's no time to argue, and Alec agrees that they have to do it (in the dub, she comments that they don't have a choice and Alec admits this should be interesting). Ghost Gal suddenly receives a message through her Duel Disk as Alec contacts her, asking if they can hear him. Zaizen turns to her in shock, and Ghost Gal comments that whoever it is clearly knows them. Alec introduces himself as Faust, and both Ghost Gal and Zaizen recognize him as a Knight of Hanoi (Faust divulges his membership in the dub). Alec tells them that he'll keep this short.

His arms outspread, Bohman declares that he hears many voices inside him. The ultimate world will soon be created, and he will choose the ideal world from all possibilities; a world that will lead to the ideal path. Playmaker warns Bohman that it won't be a fair one (in the dub Playmaker reminds Bohman that he's using humans), and Bohman replies that there's no need for that as humans are very different individually from them, and if he respects all individuals then the world will collapse, leading to confrontations and fights as has been the case throughout human history. Individual thoughts clash and create strife, but since Bohman will unite everything into a single ultimate thought, he will be the only one to exist. The ultimate existence is a single individual, and that will bring peace and lead to a glorious world. But Playmaker tells Bohman that he's lonely, much to Bohman's surprise (in the dub, Bohman again repeats his offer to erase Playmaker's memories of the Lost Incident, but Playmaker states that he doesn't want to forget them, as they made him who he is). Yusaku remembers being electrocuted during the Lost Incident in his youth, despairing from starvation, suffering from PTSD nightmares and deciding to fight against his fears. He tells Bohman that when he was lonely, he only had a futile desire for revenge, but then he met his comrades, and though they clashed at times, his views expanded. He remembers Soulburner, Flame, Blue Maiden, Aqua, Gore, Earth, Roken, Ghost Gal and Kolter, stating that there's something you can see for the first time by listening to your friends, by accepting one another. Bohman declares that by uniting everything into one, he'll guide them on the ideal path; he's saying the same thing as Playmaker (in the dub, Bohman dismisses Playmaker's feelings as idealistic, though Playmaker states that doesn't make them bad). Playmaker insists that Bohman's method will sacrifice everything, and what lies ahead will be a blockade, a closed future. Playmaker vows that he will live together with the Ignis and that he believes in an open future.

Ghost Gal reveals her virus bomb.

In the LVCC, Ghost Gal muses on Alec's plan to pull apart the two LINK VRAINS by straining them from both the inside and outside, and Alec confirms her statement, explaining that their chance will arise when large amounts of data are created inside LINK VRAINS; when Bohman activates his Skill. Zaizen muses on Bohman's Skill, and Ghost Gal replies that she gets the gist. Alec tells her that's everything, as there's no time, and he cuts the connection. Zaizen is skeptical of trusting the Knights of Hanoi after they tormented them, but Ghost Gal believes that they have no reason to trick them; they want revenge for the defeat of Varis. Zaizen thinks of Skye, musing on revenge (in the dub, Ghost Gal is the one to mention it), and Ghost Gal states that she doesn't know when they'll fall victim to the Neuron Link and she tells Akira to decide. Zaizen agree to do it, and Ghost Gal states that she has the perfect tool for this situation, withdrawing a sphere of blue data from her pocket. Zaizen asks what it is, and Ghost Gal explains that it's a virus bomb as it expands and she suggests that it should be useful for this plan. She shrinks it back to its original size and inserts it into her holographic computer. As Klarissa types into her laptop, Alec warns them that it's a race against time, and Genome adds that they should hope that Bohman doesn't notice. Klarissa tells her fellow Commanders to keep accessing LINK VRAINS from their side, and Genome agrees.

Playmaker vows that he won't let Bohman create his ideal world, and he vows to win this Duel, declaring his turn and drawing "Clock Wyvern", which he immediately Summons. As it was Summoned, Playmaker activates the effect of "Clock Wyvern", halving its ATK to Special Summon a "Clock Token". "Clock Wyvern" falls to 900 ATK as the "Clock Token" appears, and Playmaker chants "Appear! The circuit that leads to the future!" and declares that the Summoning condition is one Normal Monster, setting the "Clock Token" to Link Summon the Link-1 "Link Spider". He activates its effect, Special Summoning a Level 4 or lower Normal Monster from his hand to a zone it points to, and he Special Summons "Protron". He chants "Appear again! The circuit that leads to the future!" and declares that the Summoning conditions are two Cyberse monsters, setting "Clock Wyvern" and "Link Spider" to Link Summon the Link-2 "Clock Spartoi". "Clock Spartoi's" effect then activates, allowing Playmaker to add "Cynet Fusion" from his Deck to his hand as it was Link Summoned, and once again, Playmaker chants "Appear! The circuit that leads to the future!" He declares that the Summoning condition is one Level 1 monster, setting "Protron" to Link Summon the Link-1 "Linkuriboh". Bohman reminds Playmaker that it doesn't matter how many times he Link Summons; he has "Chimera Hydradrive Dragrid" on his field and none of Playmaker's monsters can stand against it. Ai tells Bohman to be quiet and stop bragging just because he has a Link-5 monster (in the dub, Ai instead claims that Bohman has no chance of being invited to their victory party even if he brings a cake). Playmaker then activates the other effect of "Clock Spartoi" since a monster was Special Summoned to a zone it points to, Special Summoning another Level 4 or lower Cyberse monster from his Graveyard to a zone it points to with its effects negated, and he revives "Clock Wyvern". Playmaker then activates the Spell Card "Cynet Fusion", sending Fusion Materials from his hand and field to the Graveyard to Fusion Summon a Fusion Monster, fusing "Clock Wyvern", "Linkuriboh" and "Clock Spartoi", and Bohman muses on the Fusion Summon. Ai tells Playmaker to go, and Playmaker chants "The strong ones gather before its grand wings! Become a new legend! Fusion Summon! Come forth! Cyberse Clock Dragon!"

Ai declares that they're going all out, and Bohman seems pleased to see "Clock Dragon" (in the dub he mocks its ATK). Ai warns Bohman that they're only just getting started, and Playmaker activates the effect of "Cyberse Clock Dragon" as it was Fusion Summoned, sending cards from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard equal to the total Link Rating of the Fusion Material Link Monsters, and "Clock Dragon" will gain 1000 ATK per card. Ai tells Bohman that they sent three cards, so "Cyberse Clock Dragon" gains 3000 ATK, rising to 5500 ATK. Bohman repeats the ATK value, and Ai asks him how that is; now it's stronger than "Dragrid". Bohman scowls, and Ai warns him that it's time for him to lose (in the dub, he comments that Bohman claimed to have prepared for everything, but didn't prepare for this).

Featured Duel: Playmaker vs BohmanEdit

Duel continues from the previous episode.

Playmaker has 4000 LP and controls "Cyberse Quantum Dragon" (2500/2000) in the Extra Monster Zone in Attack Position. Bohman has 4000 LP and controls "Chimera Hydradrive Dragrid" (4000/←↙↓↘→) (with 1 Hydradrive Counter) in the Extra Monster Zone.

Turn 2: Playmaker
Bohman has just activated his Skill, "Master Storm Access", accessing the Neuron Link once per turn and adding a random Cyberse monster to his Extra Deck.

Bohman activates the effect of "Chimera Hydradrive Dragrid", removing 1 "Hydradrive Counter" ("Dragrid" Hydradrive Counters: 1 → 0) from it to roll a die, then return "Dragrid" to his Extra Deck and Special Summon 1 "Chimera Hydradrive Draghead" monster from his Extra Deck, whose Attribute corresponds to the die roll (● 1: EARTH ● 2: WATER ● 3: FIRE ● 4: WIND ● 5: LIGHT ● 6: DARK). He rolls a 2 (WATER), so he returns "Dragrid" to the Extra Deck and Special Summons "Chimera Hydradrive Draghead - Aqua" (4000/↙←↖↑↗) to the Extra Monster Zone. As it was Special Summoned, Bohman activates the effect of "Draghead - Aqua", negating the effects of all other monsters that "Draghead - Aqua" does not point to. The effects of "Cyberse Quantum Dragon" are negated. Playmaker Sets a card. During the End Phase, the effect of "Draghead - Aqua" activates, returning itself to Bohman's Extra Deck and Special Summoning "Dragrid" (4000/←↙↓↘→) from his Extra Deck to the Extra Monster Zone. As "Dragrid" was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, Bohman activates its effect, placing 1 "Hydradrive Counter" on it ("Dragrid" Hydradrive Counters: 0 → 1).

Turn 3: Bohman
Bohman activates his Skill, "Master Storm Access", accessing the Neuron Link once per turn and adding a random Cyberse monster to his Extra Deck.

Bohman activates the effect of "Dragrid", removing 1 Hydradrive Counter from it ("Dragrid" Hydradrive Counters: 1 → 0) to roll a die, then return "Dragrid" to his Extra Deck and Special Summon 1 "Chimera Hydradrive Draghead" monster from his Extra Deck, whose Attribute corresponds to the die roll. He rolls a 3 (FIRE), so he returns "Dragrid" to the Extra Deck, and Special Summons "Chimera Hydradrive Draghead - Flame" (4000/↖↑↗→↘). Since it was Special Summoned, Bohman activates its effect, destroying all other monsters on the field that "Draghead - Flame" does not point to. As a monster he controls in the Extra Monster Zone would be destroyed, Playmaker activates the effect of "Cyberse Synchron" in his GY, banishing it instead.

Bohman attacks and destroys "Quantum Dragon" with "Draghead - Flame" (Playmaker: 4000 → 2500 LP). During the End Phase, the effect of "Draghead - Flame" activates, returning itself to Bohman's Extra Deck and Special Summoning "Dragrid" from his Extra Deck to the Extra Monster Zone. As "Dragrid" was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, Bohman activates its effect, placing 1 "Hydradrive Counter" on it ("Dragrid" Hydradrive Counters: 0 → 1).

Turn 4: Playmaker
Playmaker Normal Summons "Clock Wyvern" (1800/1000). As "Clock Wyvern" was Normal or Special Summoned, Playmaker activates its effect, halving its ATK to Special Summon a "Clock Token". He halves its ATK ("Clock Wyvern": 1800 → 900 ATK) and Special Summons 1 "Clock Token" (0/0) in Defense Position. Playmaker sets the "Clock Token" (1 Normal Monster) in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "Link Spider" (1000/↓) to the Extra Monster Zone. Playmaker activates the effect of "Link Spider", Special Summoning 1 Level 4 or lower Normal Monster from his hand to the Monster Zone "Link Spider" points to. He Special Summons "Protron" (100/100) from his hand in Defense Position. Playmaker sets "Clock Wyvern" and "Link Spider" (2 Cyberse monsters) in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "Clock Spartoi" (800/↓↘) to the Extra Monster Zone. As it was Link Summoned, Playmaker activates the effect of "Clock Spartoi", adding "Cynet Fusion" from his Deck to his hand. Playmaker sets "Protron" (1 Level 1 monster) in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "Linkuriboh" (300/↓) to one of the Main Monster Zones "Clock Spartoi" points to. As a monster was Special Summoned to a Monster Zone it points to, Playmaker activates the effect of "Clock Spartoi", allowing him to target 1 Level 4 or lower Cyberse monster in his GY and Special Summon it to a Monster Zone it points to, but its effects are negated and he cannot Special Summon monsters from his Extra Deck for the rest of the turn, except Fusion Monsters. He Special Summons "Clock Wyvern" in Attack Position.

Playmaker activates the Spell "Cynet Fusion", allowing him to Fusion Summon 1 Cyberse Fusion Monster using monsters from his hand and/or field as Fusion Material. He fuses "Clock Wyvern", "Linkuriboh", and "Clock Spartoi" to Fusion Summon "Cyberse Clock Dragon" (2500/2000) to the Extra Monster Zone in Attack Position. As it was Fusion Summoned, Playmaker activates the effect of "Cyberse Clock Dragon", sending cards from the top of his Deck to the GY equal to the combined Link Rating of the Link Monsters used to Fusion Summon it, then gaining 1000 ATK for each card sent. The combined Link Rating of "Clock Spartoi" and "Linkuriboh" is 3, so Playmaker sends the top three cards of his deck to the GY, increasing the ATK of "Clock Dragon" by 3000 ("Cyberse Clock Dragon": 2500 → 5500 ATK).

Duel continues in the next episode.
