"Reckless Proposal" is the one hundred and eighteenth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS anime. It first aired in Japan on September 11, 2019.

After dodging several attacks by the skin of his teeth, Playmaker finds an opening and attempts to strike back at Ai. However, Ai knows Playmaker inside and out, and can predict everything he will do. Then, Ai unites his feelings for all the Ignis, and brings about the advent of the ultimate Cyberse.

Turn 3: Playmaker
Playmaker activates the Spell "Cynet Closure", banishing a card from his Deck face-down. When Playmaker's Link Monster destroys Ai's Link Monster by battle, that card is returned to the GY. Playmaker banishes an unknown card. Playmaker Normal Summons "Flame Bufferlo" (1400/200). Playmaker activates the effect of "Cynet Optimization". Immediately after the effect of "Cynet Optimization" resolves, Playmaker Normal Summons a Cyberse monster but he cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Cyberse monsters. The effect of "Cynet Optimization" resolves, and Playmaker Normal Summons "Formud Skipper" (0/0). Playmaker sets "Flame Bufferlo" and "Formud Skipper" (2 Cyberse monsters) in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "Cyberse Witch" (800/↙↓) to the Extra Monster Zone. As "Formud Skipper" was sent to the GY as Link Material, Playmaker activates its effect, adding a Level 5 or higher Cyberse monster from his Deck to his hand. He adds the Level 7 "Degrade Buster" to his hand. As the face-up "Flame Bufferlo" left the field, Playmaker activates its effect, discarding a Cyberse monster, then drawing two cards. He discards "Dotscaper", and draws two cards. As "Dotscaper" was sent to the GY, Playmaker activates its effect, Special Summoning it (0/2100). He Special Summons it in Defense Position to a zone "Cyberse Witch" points to. As a monster was Special Summoned to a zone "Cyberse Witch" points to, Playmaker activates its effect, banishing a Spell from his GY to add "Cynet Ritual" and a Cyberse Ritual Monster from his Deck to his hand. He banishes "Cynet Closure" and adds "Cyberse Magician" and "Cynet Ritual" to his hand. Playmaker banishes two Cyberse monsters (Garbage Collector" and "Flame Bufferlo") from his GY to Special Summon "Degrade Buster" (2500/2500) from his hand by its own effect, in Attack Position.

Playmaker activates the Ritual Spell "Cynet Ritual", Ritual Summoning a Cyberse Ritual Monster by Tributing monsters from his hand or field, whose total Levels equal or exceed the Level of that Ritual Monster. He Tributes the Level 7 "Degrade Buster" to Ritual Summon the Level 7 "Cyberse Magician" (2500/2000), in Attack Position. As the first effect of "Cyberse Witch" was activated this turn, Playmaker activates its second effect, targeting a Level 4 or lower Cyberse monster in his GY and Special Summoning it. He targets and Special Summons the Level 4 "Clock Wyvern" (1800/1000) in Attack Position. As "Clock Wyvern" was Normal or Special Summoned, Playmaker activates its effect, halving its ATK ("Clock Wyvern": 1800 → 900 ATK), then Special Summoning a "Clock Token" (0/0). While "Transcode Talker" is co-linked, it and its co-linked monsters gain 500 ATK, also Ai cannot target any of them with card effects ("Transcode Talker": 2300 → 2800 ATK, "Clock Spartoi": 800 → 1300 ATK). As a monster was Special Summoned to a zone "Clock Spartoi" points to, Playmaker activates its effect, targeting a Level 4 or lower Cyberse monster in his GY and Special Summoning it, but its effects are negated, also Playmaker cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Fusion Monsters. He targets and Special Summons the Level 4 "Clock Wyvern" (1800/1000), in Attack Position. Playmaker activates the effect of "Transcode Talker", targeting a different Link-3 or lower Cyberse Link Monster in his GY and Special Summoning it to his zone "Transcode Talker" points to, but Playmaker cannot Special Summon monsters the turn he activates this effect, except Cyberse monsters. He targets and Special Summons the Link-3 "Decode Talker" (2300/↙↑↘) to the zone the middle-right Link Arrow of "Transcode Talker" points to.

Playmaker activates the Spell "Cynet Fusion", Fusion Summoning a Cyberse Fusion Monster from his Extra Deck using monsters from his hand or field as Fusion Materials. He fuses "Clock Wyvern", "Decode Talker", and "Clock Spartoi" to Fusion Summon "Cyberse Clock Dragon" (2500/2000) to the Extra Monster Zone, in Attack Position ("Transcode Talker": 2800 → 2300 ATK). As "Cyberse Clock Dragon" was Fusion Summoned, Playmaker activates its effect, sending cards from the top of his Deck to the GY equal to the total Link Rating of the Link Monsters used to Fusion Summon it, then, until the end of the next turn, other monsters Playmaker controls cannot attack, also "Cyberse Clock Dragon" gains 1000 ATK for each card sent to the GY by this effect. The combined Link Rating of the Link-3 "Decode Talker" and the Link-2 "Clock Spartoi" is five, so Playmaker sends the top five cards of his deck ("Bitrooper", "Limit Code", "Cynet Backdoor", "Cynet Universe", and "Overfloater") to the GY ("Cyberse Clock Dragon": 2500 → 7500 ATK). "Cyberse Clock Dragon" attacks "Fire Phoenix @Ignister". As Playmaker's monster declared an attack, Ai activates his Set Trap "A.I.'s Show", targeting the attacking monster and Special Summoning any number of non-Link Cyberse monsters with 2300 ATK from his Extra Deck, whose total ATK is less than or equal to the targeted monster's ATK, to his zones a Link Monster points to, then he ends the Battle Phase. He targets the 7500 ATK "Cyberse Clock Dragon" and Special Summons "Earth Golem @Ignister" (2300/2000) and "Wind Pegasus @Ignister" (2300/1500) to the zones the bottom-right and bottom-center Link Arrows of "Dark Templar @Ignister" point to respectively, and "Light Dragon @Ignister (2300/1500) to the zone the middle-left Link Arrow of "Fire Phoenix @Ignister" points to, all in Attack Position, then ends the Battle Phase.

Turn 4: Ai
Ai activates the Spell "A.I. Contact", targeting a card in the Field Zone and shuffling a card with the same name as that card from his hand into the Deck, then drawing three cards. He targets "Ignister A.I.Land", shuffles the second copy of "Ignister A.I.Land" into the Deck, then draws three cards. Ai activates the effect of "Wind Pegasus @Ignister", targeting Spells/Traps Playmaker controls, up to the number of "@Ignister" monsters he controls, and destroy them. He controls five "@Ignister" monsters, so he targets and destroys "Code Hack" and "Cynet Optimization". Ai Normal Summons "Hiyari @Ignister". Ai activates the effect of "Hiyari @Ignister", Tributing one other "@Ignister" monster to add "A.I.'s Ritual" from his Deck to his hand, then, if Ai Tributed a Link Monster to activate this effect, he can also add an "@Ignister" Ritual Monster from his Deck to his hand, then increase its card's Level by the Tributed monster's Link Rating, until the end of this turn. He Tributes the Link-3 "Fire Phoenix @Ignister", adds "A.I.'s Ritual" to his hand, then adds "Water Leviathan @Ignister", then increases the Level of "Hiyari @Ignister" by three ("Hiyari @Ignister": Level 1 → 4). Ai activates the Ritual Spell "A.I.'s Ritual", Ritual Summoning an "@Ignister" Ritual Monster by Tributing "@Ignister" monsters from his hand or field whose total Levels equal or exceed the Level of that Ritual Monster. If Ai controls a WATER "@Ignister" monster at activation, he can also banish "@Ignister" monsters from his GY. Ai controls the WATER "Hiyari @Ignister", so he Tributes the Level 4 "Hiyari @Ignister" and banishes the Level 4 "Pikari @Ignister" to Ritual Summon the Level 7 "Water Leviathan @Ignister" (2300/2000) in Attack Position. As "Water Leviathan" was Ritual Summoned, Ai activates its effect, returning to the hand all monsters Playmaker controls whose original ATK are 2300 or less. The original ATK of "Transcode Talker" is 2300, so it is returned to Playmaker's Extra Deck.

"Water Leviathan @Ignister" attacks "Cyberse Magician". If "Water Leviathan @Ignister" battles Playmaker's monster, its effect halves that monster's ATK during damage calculation only ("Cyberse Magician": 2500 → 1250 ATK). The effect of "Cyberse Magician" halves any damage Playmaker takes. The attack continues and "Cyberse Magician" is destroyed (Playmaker: 4000 → 3475 LP). As another "@Ignister" monster inflicted battle damage to Playmaker, Ai activates the effect of "Light Dragon @Ignister", targeting an "@Ignister" Link Monster in his GY and Special Summoning it. He targets and Special Summons "Fire Phoenix @Ignister" (2300/←↓→) to the zone the top-center Link Arrow of "Judgment Arrows" points to. "Fire Phoenix @Ignister" attacks "Cyberse Clock Dragon". As Ai's monster declared an attack while he controls more monsters than Playmaker does, he activates the effect of "Overfloater" in his GY, banishing it, then targeting that attacking monster to negate the effects of all monsters Ai controls with original ATK less than or equal to the targeted monster's original ATK. He targets "Fire Phoenix @Ignister" with 2300 original ATK (the highest he controls), and negates the effects of all monsters Ai controls. Ai sets the FIRE "Fire Phoenix @Ignister", the WATER "Water Leviathan @Ignister", the EARTH "Earth Golem @Ignister", the WIND "Wind Pegasus @Ignister", the LIGHT "Light Dragon @Ignister", and the DARK "Dark Templar @Ignister" (2+ monsters with 1500 or more ATK that have different Attributes) in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "The Arrival Cyberse @Ignister" (?/↑←↙↓↘→) to the zone the top-right Link Arrow of "Judgment Arrows" points to. The effect of "The Arrival Cyberse @Ignister" makes its original ATK become 1000 times the number of Link Materials used for its Link Summon. Six monsters were used for its Link Summon ("The Arrival Cyberse @Ignister": ? → 6000 ATK). The effect of "The Arrival Cyberse @Ignister" increases its ATK by 1000 for each card Ai controls. Turn 5: Playmaker
Playmaker Normal Summons "Cyberse Gadget" (1400/300). As "Cyberse Gadget" was Normal Summoned, Playmaker activates its effect, targeting a Level 2 or lower monster in his GY and Special Summoning it in Defense Position, but its effects are negated. Playmaker targets and Special Summons the Level 1 "Formud Skipper" (0/0) in Defense Position. Playmaker sets "Cyberse Gadget" and "Formud Skipper" (2 Cyberse monsters) in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "Cyberse Wicckid" (800/↓↘) to the Extra Monster Zone. As "Formud Skipper" was sent to the GY as Link Material, Playmaker activates its effect, adding a Level 5 or higher Cyberse monster from his Deck to his hand. He adds an unknown card. As "Cyberse Gadget" was sent from the field to the GY, Playmaker activates its effect, Special Summoning a "Gadget Token" (0/0) in Defense Position. He Special Summons it to a zone "Cyberse Wicckid" points to. As a monster was Special Summoned to a zone "Cyberse Wicckid" points to, Playmaker activates its effect, banishing a Cyberse monster from his GY to add a Cyberse Tuner from his Deck to his hand. As "Parallel eXceed" was Special Summoned by the effect of "Parallel eXceed", its Level becomes 4, also its original ATK/DEF become halved ("Parallel eXceed": Level 8 → 4, 2000/2000 → 1000/1000). Playmaker overlays the two copies of the Level 4 "Parallel eXceed" to Xyz Summon the Rank 4 "Firewall eXceed Dragon" (2500/2000, 2 ORU) to the zone the bottom-center Link Arrow of "Exslayer" points to. The effect of the Xyz Summoned "Firewall eXceed Dragon" increases its ATK by 500 times the total Link Rating of Link Monsters linked to this card. "Cyberse Quantum Dragon" attacks "The Arrival Cyberse @Ignister". At the start of the Damage Step, as "Cyberse Quantum Dragon" is battling Ai's monster, Playmaker activates its effect, returning Ai's monster to the hand, also, "Cyberse Quantum Dragon" can make a second attack in a row. While "The Arrival Cyberse @Ignister" has a counter, its effect makes it unaffected by other cards' effects. The effect of "Cyberse Quantum Dragon" resolves and "The Arrival Cyberse @Ignister" is not returned.
