The Five Pillars of Yu-Gi-Oh! Anime Shows and Their Ace Monsters

This is a comprehensive list of all Yu-Gi-Oh! "Five Duelist Pillars"; those being Protagonists, Primary Rivals, Best Friends, Primary Female Characters and Antagonists, along with their ace monsters. Hope you enjoy!

Protagonists

Each protagonist has one or two ace monsters associated with them:

  • With the exception of the Level 6 "Elemental HERO Flame Wingman" and Level 8 "Stardust Dragon", every protagonist's ace monster with a Level ("Dark Magician", "Elemental HERO Neos", "Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon", "Sevens Road Magician" and "Galactica Oblivion") share the same Level: 7.
    • Also, with the exception of the LINK-3 "Decode Talker", every protagonist's ace monster without a Level ("Number 39: Utopia" and "Firewall Dragon") share the same non-Level property: 4.
  • With three exceptions, every protagonist's ace monster ("Dark Magician", "Elemental HERO Neos", "Stardust Dragon", "Number 39: Utopia", "Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon", "Firewall Dragon" and "Galactica Oblivion") shares the same amount of ATK: 2500.
    • "Sevens Road Magician" has 2100 ATK; 2100 is a multiple of 7 to keep in line with the motif of the number 7. "Elemental HERO Flame Wingman" also has 2100 ATK.
    • "Decode Talker" has 2300 ATK and originally played a similar role to "Junk Warrior" in that it was Yusaku's primary ace monster before "Firewall Dragon" appeared.
  • With the exception of the 2100 DEF "Dark Magician", 1500 DEF "Sevens Road Magician" and 2500 ATK "Galactica Oblivion", every protagonists' ace monster ("Elemental HERO Neos", "Stardust Dragon", "Number 39: Utopia" and "Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon") share the same amount of DEF: 2000. As Link Monsters, "Firewall Dragon" and "Decode Talker" do not have DEF.
  • Every protagonist's ace monster shares one of three Attributes: DARK ("Dark Magician", "Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon", "Decode Talker" and "Sevens Road Magician"), LIGHT ("Elemental HERO Neos", "Number 39: Utopia", "Firewall Dragon" and "Galactica Oblivion") or WIND ("Elemental HERO Flame Wingman" and "Stardust Dragon").
  • With the exception of the Cyberse "Firewall Dragon" and "Decode Talker", and Galaxy "Galactica Oblivion", every protagonist's ace monster share one of three Types: Spellcaster ("Dark Magician" and "Sevens Road Magician"), Warrior ("Elemental HERO Neos", "Elemental HERO Flame Wingman" and "Number 39: Utopia]] or Dragon ("Stardust Dragon" and "Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon"); however, "Firewall Dragon" and "Galactica Oblivion" are draconic in appearance while "Decode Talker" resembles a Warrior.

As a Link Monster, "Borreload Dragon" does not have a Level.
  • With the exception of the 2800 ATK "Armed Dragon LV7", every rival's ace monster from a series based on Master Duels share the same amount of ATK: 3000; however, "Armed Dragon LV10", an evolution of "Armed Dragon LV7", has 3000 ATK.
