The Card Rulings section of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Wiki documents specific rules associated with a particular card or group of cards.

The section is considered fragile as it is prone to incorrect material and follows a strict set of guidelines. As such users must have a registered account in order to edit in the Card Rulings namespace.

In general all rulings must come from an official source and reference where the rulings come from.

If you have a question about a ruling which you cannot resolve by reading the card's Rulings, there is a forum where such questions may be asked.

Acceptable rulings[edit]

TCG[edit]

TCG Rulings are rulings which apply to cards from the English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish versions of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. They usually, but do not always, correspond to "OCG" cards.

Any TCG rulings submitted must be officially issued by Konami. These rulings can be accessed via the gameplay section on Konami's TCG site.

TCG rulings for older sets were posted on Upper Deck Entertainment's site, which no longer exists, since Konami took full control of the TCG. These may be accessed from other reliable sites which unofficially documented the rulings, or from the Internet Archive's saved copies of the UDE website.

Mentions in other Rulings[edit]

If the card in question is mentioned in the rulings of another card, that ruling may be copied and pasted into the card's rulings page, under the section === Mentions in other Rulings ===. A link back the card whose rulings it belongs to should be included.

Semi-official[edit]

Semi-official rulings include TCG rulings issued by Konami or Upper Deck Entertainment outside the rulings section of their site. Such rulings may be included, provided they are sourced.

OCG[edit]

OCG Rulings are rulings which apply to cards from the Japanese, Asian-English, Korean, and Chinese versions of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game/Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game. They usually, but do not always, correspond to "TCG" cards.

OCG rulings may be found in the FAQ section of Konami's Japanese OCG Card Database.

They should be translated accurately and use names and terminology from the English language version of the game.

Semi-official[edit]

Semi-official rulings include OCG rulings issued by Konami outside the rulings section of their site. Such rulings may be included, provided they are sourced.

Unacceptable rulings[edit]

Rulings users make themselves are not to be included, even if they are correct. Allowing for such rulings would inevitably result in users posting incorrect rulings, which they think are correct.

Unofficial rulings[edit]

Unofficial rulings are generally never accepted, though exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis in extreme cases.
