GO RUSH!!|6|ref}}</ref> is a character in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!! anime and the primary antagonist of the first and fourth story arcs, and the overall central antagonist of the first season. An alien from the Velgear Star Cluster, he was Yudias Velgear's superior officer and disappeared in battle, but reappears on Earth with an interest in Rush Duels and in Yuhi Ohdo's Earthdamar.

Zuwijo serves as Yudias' main rival in the series. Throughout the first season, Zuwijo seeks to use various powers to forcibly end the war in the Velgear Star Cluster in victory for the Velgearians, largely through combining Rush Dueling with the power of the Earthdamar, though he also makes an effort to use the power of The☆Lugh in the third arc and drives much of its conflict. Yudias by contrast believes he can use Rush Duels to peacefully end the war, a dream Zuwijo believes to have little chance of succeeding.

Zuwijo is a tall young man with purple eyes and long blonde hair that fades into purple past his waist.

In his true Galaxy Form, Zuwijo's skin is sallow, his hair is in a wild mane and he has red markings under his eyes. He wears similar clothes to his subordinate Yudias, but in darker colors; a purple tunic with a high collar and a golden trim, black leggings with gold bands strapped around his thighs, including one that appears to contain a Deck box, a black trench coat with a red lining and gold bands around the waist under a purple mantle clasped by a gold bangle, a golden belt with a clasp that resembles enclosed claws, and knee-high dark purple boots covered in angular silver armor. Zuwijo also takes on a shirt-like state after dying before being resurrected.

In his human form, Zuwijo's skin is tanned and his hair compressed into a thin ponytail. He wears the clothes of a baker owing to his new profession: a pressed white shirt with the sleeves rolled-up to mid-forearm, a brown apron, black boots, a small lilac scarf, and a brown beret.

Personality
In the past, Zuwijo demonstrated great valor and honor, imparting wisdom to Yudias Velgear on the notion of the battlefield and one's comrades. While his outlook has since soured, he retains some honorable and merciful traits, throwing his Rush Duel against Yudias with the apparent goal of ensuring the survival of Yuhi Ohdo's soul and later restoring Yudias from his shirt-like form and giving him an Equip Spell Card.

However, in the present, Zuwijo is far colder, claiming to have always been disgusted by Yudias' desire to end the war peacefully. Zuwijo himself desires to use Rush Duels to win the war.

Voice/Mannerisms
Zuwijo uses the personal pronoun "ware", a very formal and authoritive manner of addressing oneself.

Biography
History
Zuwijo was a commanding officer of many Velgearians during the war in the Velgear Star Cluster, including Yudias Velgear, and often imparted wisdom during their battles. He had a flair for speeches to his mean, urging them to harness their anguish as anger. During a battle, Zuwijo's Gavil Charger was of little use and he asked Yudias to go on ahead, entrusting victory to him. However as soon as Yudias charged out, an energy blast struck the staircase where Zuwijo had been standing, resulting in Zuwijo's death.

After learning the truth about the origin of Velgearians, Zuwijo made his way to Earth. He heard of Rush Dueling and the belief that it could end the war, but Zuwijo believed it could be used to win the war by force. When Zuwijo arrived at Earth, another spaceship crashed into Zaida Velgear, causing both ships to crash-land on Earth. Zuwijo met with the occupants and asked them about Rush Dueling, imprisoning them after learning they knew about Rush Dueling, but that it didn't appear to exist. Zuwijo forced his prisoners to create Rush Dueling, but they eventually escaped.

Zuwijo learned of the Earthdamar and its unusual properties, and began plotting to acquire and test the substance, then exhibit its power to the aliens on Earth.

First Arc
Zuwijo learned that Yudias had also come to Earth, so he ordered Chupataro Kaburagi to make contact with him. Chupataro successfully did so and reported his progress to Zuwijo over the phone. With Chupataro's first mission accomplished, Zuwijo ordered Chupataro to seek the Earthdamar through Yudias, though Chupataro was unsuccessful and was arrested by MIK. Zuwijo was instead able to find the Earthdamar himself after Yuhi Ohdo defeated Tell Kawai in a Rush Duel, using a capsule to steal it before Yuhi could drink it again. Yudias was present and shocked to see Zuwijo was alive, but Zuwijo left without even speaking to his former subordinate, despite Yudias' protests.

Desiring to test Yudias' Rush Dueling aptitude and have him rejoin his cause, Zuwijo sent Mitsuko Hiramori to test him in a Rush Duel designed to evoke memories of experiences that Zuwijo and Yudias had shared. Yudias was able to triumph over Mitsuko and deduced that Zuwijo was present in the warehouse; Zuwijo revealed himself and his intentions, but to his disgust Yudias insisted he wanted to end the war peacefully, a trait of his Zuwijo admitted his dislike for. MIK agents led by Manabu Sogetsu then arrived to arrest Zuwijo and Mitsuko, but Zuwijo easily broke through the warehouse wall and escaped. He left Mitsuko behind so she could break Chupataro out of prison, and once she had, they exposed Chupataro's Duel Disk to the Earthdamar at Mutsuba Tower for thirty minutes. Intending to make a statement, Zuwijo sent Chupataro to the Mutsuba Cable Studio to Rush Duel in the live tournament between UTS and Manya Atachi. Chupataro Rush Dueled Yudias, and Zuwijo watched from Mutsuba Tower's power supply as Chupataro Summoned "Magical Sheep Girl Meeeg-chan", who was materialized by the Earthdamar and took over the Rush Duel after Chupataro's energy was drained. After Yudias defeated Meeeg-chan she dematerialized, and Zuwijo declared the curtains of strife had risen before making preparations to demonstrate the power of the Earthdamar across Mutsuba Town.

Zuwijo exposed his Duel Disk to the Earthdamar for thirty-three hours before ascending to the peak of Mutsuba Tower with Mitsuko to await Yudias' arrival. When Yudias arrived with Yuhi, Yuamu Ohdo, Manya, London Kirishima and Bochi in tow, he insisted Zuwijo's actions were wrong, but Zuwijo instead addressed the 8.88 million Velgearians aboard Valvelgear, challenging them to address his conduct and receiving no response. Unable to agree with Yudias over ending the war, Zuwijo challenged him to a Rush Duel instead. He immediately used the Earthdamar, dubbing the power "Egil Velgear", to materialize "Voidvelgr Hecatoncheir" and used it to physically attack Yudias outside the Duel before changing it to Defense Position to damage him while addressing the aliens watching. Yudias weakened "Hecatoncheir" on his next turn, but switched it back to Attack Position and allowing Zuwijo to attack him again until Yudias destroyed "Hecatoncheir" with "Transamu Rainac". Zuwijo discreetly sent Mitsuko to activate Mutsuba Tower and spread the effects of the Earthdamar across Mutsuba Town, admitting to have enjoyed Dueling Yudias, but warning the fun would end. He summoned "Voidvelgr Requiem" and used "Egil Velgear Gyurudo" to merge with his monsters, cladding himself in its form and ordering Mitsuko to activate the tower.

Zuwijo spread the Earthdamar's power across Mutsuba Town, materializing monsters from other Duelists' Decks and causing Yuhi to fall unconscious. Though surprised Yudias elected to continue Dueling, Zuwijo used the effects of his "Voidvelgr Meteon" and his own effect as "Requiem" to destroy Yudias' monsters and reduce him to 500 LP, while also attacking Yudias outside of the Duel. After learning that Yuhi's soul had been drawn inside "Requiem", Zuwijo deduced Yudias would attempt to remove "Requiem" from the field without destroying it and acted to discard the card Yudias would use from his hand. However when he tried to attack Yudias again, Yuhi acted from within "Requiem" to restrain Zuwijo, while the Earthdamar was removed from Mutsuba Tower by Asaka Mutsuba's Heavy Cavalry. Challenging Yudias to retrieve Yuhi's soul, Zuwijo continued the Duel instead of simply attacking, allowing Yudias to change his monsters into Defense Position and survive the turn, ostensibly to preserve Yuhi's soul. Yudias was able to counterattack next turn, weakening "Requiem" and Summoning and powering up "Galactica Oblivion". He destroyed "Requiem" and defeat Zuwijo, who cried "Zabeli du gilai Velgeardt!" as he was released from within "Requiem". Before MIK could arrest Zuwijo, Mitsuko rescued him and flew away.

Second Arc
Mitsuko's suit had been damaged by Asaka Mutsuba and she frantically attempted to repair it, apologizing to Zuwijo, though Zuwijo assured Mitsuko she was fine as she was. Zuwijo learned of the Rovian Bandits who resided in the Alien Residential Area under Mutsuba Town and sent Mitsuko to spy on them and determine their plans. Mitsuko returned from one of her reconnaissance missions with Yudias, who had been transformed into a shirt-like state. Mitsuko's information convinced Zuwijo that Mutsuba Town was constructed over a Velgearian spaceship. Once Mitsuko had given her report, Zuwijo and Mitsuko went to Tell Kawai's lab under Kappa Heavenly Cleaning, where Zuwijo collected particles of Earthdamar from Tell's experiments and splashed it across Yudias. He gave Yudias to Tell and asked him to deliver it to the UTS office; Zuwijo also gave Yudias an Equip Spell Card, "Galactica Xiphos".

Zuwijo and Mitsuko watched from their hideout as Yudias Rush Dueled Rovian Kirishima, Mitsuko asking Zuwijo why he gave Yudias "Galactica Xiphos". Zuwijo claimed that as Velgearian warriors they were unable to escape from a specific fact. During the Duel a spaceship was revealed to be hidden beneath the UTS office and was taken away by London Kirishima and Netsuzo Shinjitsu, giving more evidence to Zuwijo's belief that a larger ship was beneath the town. Yudias finding his resolve during the Rush Duel in the face of Rovian's challenge caused the Velgearian spaceship beneath them to activate, enclosing Mutsuba Town in an energy dome and launching into space.

Deck
Zuwijo uses a "Voidvelgr" Deck, composed of DARK Galaxy monsters with a strategy that punishes LIGHT-centric Decks.
