- In episode 22, Seto Kaiba uses this card during his Duel against Yami Yugi. When "Dark Magician" attacks "La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp", Kaiba activates this card to redirect the attack to "Curse of Dragon", destroying it instead. In the next episode, Yugi activates "Mystic Box" to destroy this card, which renders "La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp" vulnerable.
- In episode 121, Seto uses this card during his Duel against Gozaburo Kaiba. He sets this card in Defense Position. "Exodia Necross" then attacks and destroys this card. "Exodia Necross" then gains 1000 ATK at the end of the Damage Step due to its effect. Later Kaiba activates "Monster Reborn" to revive this card. Kaiba then activates this card's effect to Special Summon "La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp" from his hand. After Kaiba activates "Soul Demolition" and uses its effect five times to banish the five "The Forbidden One" pieces in Gozaburo's Graveyard, he Tributes this card and "La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp" in order to Tribute Summon "Blue-Eyes White Dragon".
- In this Duel, this card had the same properties that it has in the OCG/TCG.
- In episode 131, this card is seen in a series of flashbacks Kaiba has when he notes to himself that he always feels excited when he Duels against Yugi.
- In the anime and manga, "Ancient Lamp" was initially a Continuous Trap Card. When the opponent attempted to attack "La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp" it redirected the attack to any other one of the opponents monsters.
