  • In episode 97, this card was briefly seen as Crow passed a Team Catastrophe member (this was not yet known at the time). The Team Catastrophe member used this card to make Crow fall off his Duel Runner and crash. This wrecks Crow's Duel Runner and fractures his shoulder, making him unable to participate in the match between Team Unicorn and Team 5D's. As such, Crow trains Akiza Izinski to go in his place.
  • In episode 103, this card is responsible for making Andre and Jean crash during the match between Team Unicorn and Team Catastrophe. Because Jean's Duel Runner was destroyed when he crashed, Team Unicorn was automatically eliminated by default.
  • In episode 104, Team Catastrophe uses this card to make Akiza crash while she was training herself for the next match. Akiza tried to save herself by summoning "Rose Tentacles", but her powers didn't activate and she crashed, knocking her out. The intention of them doing this was so that they would only have to face Yusei Fudo and Jack Atlas. Later Hermann uses this card during his Turbo Duel against Crow Hogan. He Normal Summons this card on the first turn of the Duel. Later "Blackwing - Sirocco the Dawn" attacks this card, but Hermann activates this card's effect to switch both battling monsters to Defense Position. This activates this card's second effect, inflicting 800 damage to Crow. Right after that, Crow lost control. A shadow phantom of this card then tried to grab Crow's Duel Runner wheel, but he pulls his Duel Runner up to avoid it at the last second. All of Team 5D's and Breo noticed this and they knew something was up. In the next episode, Hermann switches this card to Attack Position and Normal Summons "Dark the Hidden Knight". "Dark the Hidden Knight" then attacks directly via its own effect. This card then attacks and destroys "Sirocco the Dawn". The shadow phantom then tries to grab Crow's wheel, but he dodges it again as he is starting to become aware of what Team Catastrophe is trying to do. Later activates the effect of "Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind" to halve this card's ATK and DEF until the End Phase. "Gale the Whirlwind" then attacks this card, but Hermann activates this card's effect to switch both battling monsters to Defense Position. This card's second effect then inflicts 800 damage to Crow. The shadow phantom again tries to grab Crow's wheel, but Crow again dodges it despite his injured arm. "Sirocco the Dawn" then attacks this card, but Hermann activates Tributes "Dark the Hidden Knight" to switch this card to Attack Position. Hermann then activates this card's effect to switch both battling monsters to Defense Position. This card's second effect then inflicts 800 damage to Crow. The shadow phantom once again tries to grab Crow's wheel, but he uses the flight mode of his Duel Runner to avoid the hook. Crow then sends "Blackwing - Etesian of Two Swords" from his hand to the Graveyard in order to inflict damage to Hermann equal to the ATK of "Sirocco the Dawn". Crow then activates "Urgent Tuning" to allow himself to Synchro Summon one Synchro Monster during the Battle Phase and Hermann activates "Shadow Concealing Darkness" to prevent any of his Defense Position monsters from being destroyed by battle. Crow then tunes "Sirocco the Dawn" with "Gale the Whirlwind" in order to Synchro Summon "Black-Winged Dragon". Everyone wondered why Crow summoned his ace monster in Defense Position, but Crow activates "Defenders Intersect" to switch this card and "Black-Winged Dragon" to Attack Position and negate the effects of both monsters. Before attacking, Crow declares he is going to do this for Andre, Jean, and Akiza. "Black-Winged Dragon" then attacks and destroys this card, winning Crow the Duel. Hermann, not wanting this card to go to the Graveyard before he has to pass the baton, activates "Revival Knight" to revive this card in Defense Position, but Crow activates "Gravity Collapse" to negate the summon of this card and destroy it. Crow, at this point, could no longer take the strain from his arm, so he immediately goes to the pits and passes the baton to Jack who proceeds in going forward. Due to the rulings of the WRGP, Jack starts off with 4000 Life Points.
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, Nicolas is shown looking at this card while he and his team were at Satellite and states that it was thanks to this card that that he and his team became famous. After remembering how his team got this card, he promises that he'll make his way up.
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card is shown in a flashback Nicolas has, which involved Team Catastrophe gaining fame through this card, Primo is shown giving this card to them, claiming it's a Shadow Card. Primo states that as long as Team Catastrophe has this card, they'll no longer struggle, win all their Duels and might even become king. Nicolas finds that interesting though his teammates are hesitant at accepting this as the card might be dangerous and they don't trust Primo, however they then notice Primo is gone. Nicolas claims he is fine having a shadow card as long as it gets him out of Satellite and his old lifestyle (even claiming he would sell away his soul for this).
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card is shown in the footage of the Turbo Duel between Andre and Nicolas and the Turbo Duel between Jean and Hermann while Team 5D's and Breo were trying to figure out why Andre and Jean crashed during the last match. They correctly deduce that something caught Andre and Jean's Duel Runner wheels. Yusei notes that what concerns him is this card as it was already summoned by the time the wheels were locked. Bruno looks this card up and finds its stats and reveals that Andre crashed when "D.D. Unicorn Knight" tried to attack this card while Jean crashed during his opponent's turn when the effect of this card activated.
  • In episode 106, this card dissipated into nothing as Primo had no use for Team Catastrophe anymore (while this wasn't shown on-screen, the fact that "Doom Ray" dissipated into nothing when Sherry LeBlanc took it out of Nicolas's Deck makes it apparent that all the shadow cards that Primo gave to Team Catastrophe disappeared).
  • Primo gave this card to Nicolas, the leader of Team Catastrophe. It is the cause of all the crashes of duelists who were against them, including Jean and Andre.
    • In the anime, the card had a dark effect when used in a duel: whenever this card attacked or dealt damage by its effect, a shadow phantom of this card would seize the tires of the enemy's D-Wheel.
    • This 'effect' could also be forced on D-Wheels outside of a Duel and from a distance, as shown when Crow and Akiza crashed on the highway.
