Arabic Name

It has been moved here in order to open-up discussion, as I really didn't get what the user was going at since they were speaking vaguely about the phrase being "gramatically odd" and "unfamiliar" and that it is "not referenced in any standard Arabic dictionary on encyclopedia". سيكون أفضل لك بكثير في المرة القادمة يا عزيزي أن تستشير مترجما محترفا عوضا عن محاولتك ترجمة هذه الأسماء بنفسك، ثانيا وهو الأهم فلعبة يوغي يو هذه ليس لديها ولا حتى إصدار واحد باللغة العربية لذا فانه من الأفضل لك ألا تتبرع بترجمة هذه الأسماء ما دمت غير مخول أو حتى مؤهل للقيام بذلك

شكرًا لاقتراحك، ولكنّي أعتقد بأنّ لديّ ما يكفي من مستوى استيعاب للغتين العربيّة والإنكليزيّة لأتمكّن من ترجمة لعبة من المفترض أنّها موجّهة لجمهور صغير السنّ نسبيًّا. ثمّ إنّي لا أقدّم ترجمة بحتة في كثير من الأحيان وأبيّن التغييرات والمعاني للأسماء التي أضعها في صفحة "الأسماء" لكلّ ورقة، كما أبحث فيما أشكل عليّ بجدّيّة فأنا جادّ في هذا الموضوع تمامًا، ومع ذلك فلا يخلو إنسان من الخطأ ولذلك فأنا أتقبّل النقد وأعيد المراجعة باستمرار، ولم أبادر في هذا المشروع فقط لأجل حبّي للعبة التي أمارسها منذ خمس سنوات بل لأجل حبّي للغة العربيّة ورغبتي في إبرازها، فهي تتراجع سريعًا بين باقي اللغات في عالمنا اليوم، فبدا هذا المجال مناسبًا فهو يجمع بين ثلاثة أمور أتقنها: اللغة العربيّة، واللغة الإنكليزيّة، ولعبة يوغي يو.

Thank you for your suggestion, but I believe I have an adequate level of comprehension of both Arabic and English in order to translate a game targeted at a relatively young audience. Also, the names I give are not necessarily direct translations in a lot of cases, and any changes I make in the name are noted in the "Names" page of each card. I also research certain aspects related to some card names in order to preserve as much of the name's meanings and references as possible, especially in names I find personal difficulty in translating. I am very serious about my work here, but, of course, there are always chances of human error. That is why I am up for criticism and why I constantly revise previous names. I have taken up this project not only because of my history with this game, which goes back to 5 years, but also because of my love for the Arabic language and my wanting for it to take its proper position as a leading language in modern times where it is quickly falling back. So, this project seemed perfect as it joins together 3 things I'm good at, Arabic, English, and Yu-Gi-Oh! -- Melik el-Al'ab 19:16, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
