Card Rulings:Assault on GHQ
OCG Rulings
- This card cannot be activated during the Damage Step.[1]
- Destroying the targeted monster and sending cards from the opponent's Deck to the Graveyard are not considered to happen simultaneously.[1]
- This card cannot be activated if your opponent has 1 or less cards in the Deck.[1]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[2] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - If you cannot destroy a monster with this effect, you cannot send cards from your opponent's Deck to the Graveyard.
- If you destroy "Peten the Dark Clown", you miss the timing on its activation because it was not the last effect to resolve, so you cannot Special Summon another "Peten the Dark Clown".
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Charmer: If the turn player controls a “Charmer” and a monster controlled by its effect, and activates “Assault on GHQ” and targets the controlled monster, and the opponent chains an effect to destroy the “Charmer”, the controlled monster returns to the opponent’s control, but is still destroyed by the effect of “Assault on GHQ”.
