Card Rulings:Continuous Destruction Punch
OCG Rulings
- This card's effect does not start a Chain Link.[1]
- This card's effect is applied if at the time damage calculation is performed the DEF on the field of your attacked Defense Position monster is higher than the ATK on the field of the opponent's attacking monster.[1]
- If this card's effect is applied, the attacking monster is destroyed at the end of the Damage Step.[1]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[2] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - "Continuous Destruction Punch" is like "Destruction Punch" except it's a Continuous Spell Card that you activate during your Main Phase.
- A monster destroyed because of "Continuous Destruction Punch" is destroyed by "Continuous Destruction Punch"'s effect, not "as a result of battle".
- The determination of whether a monster is destroyed by "Continuous Destruction Punch"'s effect happens at Damage Calculation, so Flip Effects, etc., are resolved AFTER "Continuous Destruction Punch"'s effect destroys a monster (but does not yet send it to the Graveyard). Then, after applying Flip Effects, send a monster destroyed by this card (or by Damage Calculation) to the Graveyard.
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Malice Doll of Demise: Examples of Continuous Spell Cards that would send "Malice Doll of Demise" from the field to the Graveyard by their effect include "Ectoplasmer" and "Continuous Destruction Punch".
