OCG Rulings

  • "Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand) by banishing all LIGHT Machine monsters from your field and GY." is not treated as an effect. (The procedure for Special Summoning this card is banishing all LIGHT Machine monsters from your field and GY. Special Summoning this card this way does not start a Chain Link.)[1]
  • "Cyber Eltanin" can only be Special Summoned by the method described in the text. Even if this card is sent to the GY after being Special Summoned from the hand, it can be Special Summoned from the Graveyard by the effect of "Monster Reborn".[1]
  • If there are no LIGHT Machine monsters in your GY, you can banish all LIGHT Machine monsters from your field to Special Summon "Cyber Eltanin". Similarly, if there are no face-up LIGHT Machine monsters on your field, you can banish all LIGHT Machine monsters in your GY to Special Summon "Cyber Eltanin".[1]
  • The effect "This card's ATK/DEF become the number of monsters banished for its Special Summon x 500." is a Continuous Effect.[1]
  • The effect "If this card is Special Summoned: Send all other face-up monsters on the field to the GY." is a Trigger Effect. (It does not target.)[1]

Q&A Rulings

  • Q: "Cyber Eltanin"'s ATK/DEF become equal to the number of monsters banished for its Special Summon, times 500. If it is equipped with "Megamorph", what happens to its ATK?
A: "Cyber Eltanin"'s original ATK is zero. Therefore, if Cyber Eltanin is equipped with "Megamorph", its ATK will also be zero. Furthermore, if the effect of the equipped Megamorph stops applying, Cyber Eltanin's ATK will return to being the number of monsters banished for its Special Summon, times 500.[2]
  • Q: While Special Summoning "Cyber Eltanin", if I control a LIGHT Machine Token, is that token also banished? If the only LIGHT Machine monsters I control are Tokens, can I banish them and Special Summon "Cyber Eltanin"? If so, what are its ATK/DEF values?
A: If there is LIGHT Machine Token on your field, the Token is also banished and "Cyber Eltanin" is Special Summoned. In addition, "Cyber Eltanin" can be Special Summoned even if the only LIGHT Machine monsters on the field are Tokens, by banishing those tokens. The ATK/DEF of "Cyber Eltanin" Special Summoned this way is equal to the number of monsters banished for its Special Summon, times 500, including the number of Tokens banished.[3]
  • Q: While both players have 5 cards in their Extra Deck, if Cyber Eltanin (LIGHT/Level 10) is destroyed by the effect of Zaborg the Mega Monarch, how does the part of the effect that sends a number of cards from each player's Extra Deck equal to the Level of the destroyed monster resolve?
A: Even if the Level of the LIGHT monster destroyed by the effect of Zaborg the Mega Monarch is higher than the amount of cards in either Extra Deck, the part of the effect that sends a number of cards from each player's Extra Deck equal to the Level of the destroyed monster is applied normally. In this case, since both players send as many cards from their Extra Deck as possible to the Graveyard, the end result is that both Extra Decks end up with 0 cards.[4]
