Q&A Rulings
- Q: I activate "Fiendish Portrait", targeting my opponent's face-up "Ib the World Chalice Justiciar". If my opponent chains "Book of Moon" and changes that "Ib the World Chalice Justiciar" to face-down Defense Position, what happens?
- A: If the opponent's targeted monster is in face-down Defense Position when "Fiendish Portrait" resolves, as in this scenario, you cannot Special Summon a monster with the same name from your Deck or Extra Deck, but the part of the effect that prevents you from Special Summoning monsters from the Deck or Extra Deck for the rest of the turn is still applied.[2][3]
