OCG Rulings
- "Gem-Knight Ruby" can be Special Summoned from the Graveyard by another card's effect, but only if it was properly Fusion Summoned before being sent to the Graveyard.[1]
- The text "This monster can only be Special Summoned by Fusion Summon (from the Extra Deck) using the above cards as Fusion Material Monsters" of cards like "Gem-Knight Ruby" also prevents you from Fusion Summoning it from the Extra Deck by using a monster with an effect like that of "King of the Swamp" or "Goddess with the Third Eye" as a Fusion Material Monster.[2][3]
