- This card's effect is an Ignition Effect. (It does not target.)[1]
- If you have any face-down Defense Position monsters on your field, or monsters other than "Gimmick Puppet" monsters when this effect resolves, you only add to your hand or send to the GY 1 "Gimmick Puppet" monster from your Deck.[1]
- If the only monster on your field is "Gimmick Puppet Chimera Doll" itself, or if the only other monsters on your field are all face-up "Gimmick Puppet" monsters when this effect resolves, you can choose to apply the part of the effect that Special Summons a "Gimmick Puppet" monster from your hand after adding one from your Deck to your hand or sending it to the GY.[1]
- Adding or sending a "Gimmick Puppet" monster from your Deck to your hand or GY and Special Summoning a "Gimmick Puppet" monster from your hand do not happen simultaneously.[1]

- Q: "Macro Cosmos" is face-up in my opponent's Spell & Trap Zone, and its effect that banishes any card that would be sent to the GY is applying. In this situation, can I activate the effect of "Gimmick Puppet Chimera Doll"?
- A: You can activate the effect of "Gimmick Puppet Chimera Doll" even if the effect of "Macro Cosmos" is applying. If you choose to add a "Gimmick Puppet" monster from your Deck to your hand, you can also Special Summon a "Gimmick Puppet" monster from your hand afterward. If you choose to send a "Gimmick Puppet" monster from your Deck to the GY, it is banished due to the effect of "Macro Cosmos" instead, so you cannot Special Summon a "Gimmick Puppet" monster from your hand.[2]
