Q&A Rulings
- Q: I Normal Summon a "Knightmare Corruptor Iblee", and activate its effect targeting a "Knightmare Goblin" in my Graveyard. If my opponent chains "Compulsory Evacuation Device" and returns "Knightmare Corruptor Iblee" to my hand, how does its effect resolve?
- A: Since the effect of "Knightmare Corruptor Iblee" must Special Summon the targeted Link Monster so that it becomes linked to "Knightmare Corruptor Iblee", if "Knightmare Corruptor Iblee" itself is no longer on the field when its effect resolves, the targeted monster is not Special Summoned.[1]
- Q: I Normal Summon a "Knightmare Corruptor Iblee", and activate its effect targeting a "Knightmare Goblin" in my Graveyard. If my opponent chains "Enemy Controller" and takes control of that "Knightmare Corruptor Iblee", how does its effect resolve?
- A: Since the effect of "Knightmare Corruptor Iblee" must Special Summon the targeted Link Monster so that it becomes linked to "Knightmare Corruptor Iblee", if your opponent has taken control of "Knightmare Corruptor Iblee" when its effect resolves, the targeted monster is not Special Summoned.[2]
- Q: I Normal Summon a "Knightmare Corruptor Iblee", and activate its effect targeting a "Knightmare Goblin" in my GY. If my opponent chains "Book of Moon" and changes "Knightmare Corruptor Iblee" to face-down Defense Position, how does its effect resolve?
- A: The effect of "Knightmare Corruptor Iblee" is one that Special Summons the targeted Link Monster so that it becomes linked to "Knightmare Corruptor Iblee". Even if that "Knightmare Corruptor Iblee" is in faced-down Defense Position when its effect resolves, it is still able to link with the Special Summoned monster, so that monster is Special Summoned normally.[3]
- Q: While "Knightmare Corruptor Iblee" is face-up in my Monster Zone, can I activate "Monster Reborn"?
- A: In this scenario, due to the effect of "Knightmare Corruptor Iblee", you cannot Special Summon monsters other than Link Monsters. Although you can activate "Monster Reborn" if you target a Link Monster, you cannot target a non-Link Monster.[4]
- Q: Can I activate "Mask Change II" targeting a "Knightmare Corruptor Iblee" on my field?
- A: In this scenario, due to the effect of "Knightmare Corruptor Iblee", you cannot Special Summon monsters other than Link Monsters. "Mask Change II" does not Special Summon Link Monsters, so you cannot activate it.[5]
