OCG Rulings
- "'During each of your End Phases, destroy this card unless you send 1 "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" from your hand to the Graveyard or reveal 1 Warrior-Type monster in your hand"' is not an effect. This is a maintenance cost. It does not start a chain.[1]
- "'If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle, it can attack once again in a row"' is a trigger effect. (This effect does not target. It is optional to activate this effect at the end of the damage step.) [1]
- If "Koa'ki Meiru Bergzak" battles another monster with the same attack value, and both monsters are destroyed in battle, you cannot activate the effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Bergzak".[1]
TCG Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Konami before the introduction of Problem-Solving Card Text. Since the introduction of the new text structure, individual card rulings for the TCG are no longer issued or actively maintained.[3] They have never been formally overturned as a whole and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules and do not contradict card text. |
- The first sentence is a maintenance cost, not an effect.[2]
- The effect to allow it to attack once again is a Trigger Effect that activates after damage calculation.[2]

- Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru: While “Macro Cosmos” is active, you cannot send “Iron Core of Koa’ki Meiru” to the Graveyard to pay the cost of keeping your “Koa’ki Meiru” monster on the field. So you must either pay the reveal cost, or destroy the monster.

- While your hand is revealed by the effect of "Respect Play"/"Ceremonial Bell"/etc, you cannot perform "reveal 1 Normal Trap Card from your hand." as a Maintenance Cost for "Koa'ki Meiru Powerhand". You must either perform either "send 1 "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" to the Graveyard" or "destroy this card".[17]
- While "Macro Cosmos" is activate, you cannot perform "send 1 "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" to the Graveyard" as a Maintenance Cost for "Koa'ki Meiru Doom". You must either perform either "reveal 1 Fiend-Type monster from your hand." or "destroy this card".[18]
- The text "During each of your End Phase, destroy this card unless you send 1 "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" from your hand to the Graveyard." of "Koa'ki Meiru Valafar" is a Maintenance Cost. It cannot be negated by the effect of "Skill Drain", so you must still pay the Maintenance Cost during your Standby Phases [sic].[19]

Rules posted online will be limited to super-complicated and really weird situations. Imagine going down to a dozen pages of card rules, instead of a thousand. It could happen.
