OCG Rulings
- The effect of "Mass Driver" starts a Chain Link. (It does not target.)[1]
- The effect cannot be activated in the same Chain Link as the activation of the card "Mass Driver".[1]
- The effect of "Mass Driver" can only be activated during the Main Phase of your turn.[1]
- Tributing 1 monster in your Monster Zone is a cost to activate the effect of "Mass Driver". (You can also Tribute a face-down Defense Position monster in your Monster Zone.)[1]

These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[2] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - Tributing a monster for "Mass Driver" is a cost.
- You can use "Mass Driver"'s effect repeatedly in the same turn as long as you can keep paying the cost.
- The activation of "Mass Driver"'s effect can be chained to.
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Malice Doll of Demise: If "Malice Doll of Demise" is Tributed to activate the effect of "Mass Driver", then "Malice Doll of Demise"'s effect does not activate because the Tribute is treated as a cost, not an effect.
- Sasuke Samurai #2: You cannot activate the effects of Continuous cards like..."Mass Driver" while "Sasuke Samurai 2"'s effect is active.
