- Q: While I have a face-up Attack Position "Ultimate Conductor Tyranno" on my field, my opponent enters their Main Phase. My opponent activates "The Monarchs Stormforth", but I chain the effect of "Miscellaneousaurus" from my hand. In this case, how does each effect resolve?
- A: If the effect of "Miscellaneousaurus" is applied, Dinosaur-Type monsters on your field will be unaffected by your opponent’s activated effects. In this scenario, although "The Monarchs Stormforth" was an activated card, applying its effect that allows your opponent to Tribute Summon using your monster is not an effect that starts a Chain. Therefore, even if the effect of "Miscellaneousaurus" is applying, your opponent can use the effect of "The Monarchs Stormforth" to Tribute your Dinosaur-Type monster for a Tribute Summon. (In this scenario, "Ultimate Conductor Tyranno" can be Tributed for an opponent’s Tribute Summon.)[1]
- Q: A "Dogoran, the Mad Flame Kaiju" that my opponent owns is face-up on my side of the field after my opponent Special Summoned it with its effect. When my opponent activates "Remove Brainwashing", I chain the effect of "Miscellaneousaurus" from my hand. In this case, how will each effect resolve?
- A: When the effect of "Miscellaneousaurus" is applied, all Dinosaur-Type monsters on your field will become unaffected by your opponent’s activated effects during this Main Phase. In this case, although "Remove Brainwashing" is a card being activated, the effect that returns control of all monsters on the field to their owners is not an activated effect that creates a Chain. Therefore, even if the effect of "Miscellaneousaurus" has been applied, the effect of "Remove Brainwashing" will also be applied normally. (In this case, "Dogoran, the Mad Flame Kaiju" returns to your opponent’s field.)[2]
- Q: I activate "Survival Line", and its effect Special Summons a "Miscellaneousaurus" from my Deck. Then, before the End Phase of this turn, if I activate "Book of Moon" and change "Miscellaneousaurus" to face-down Defense Position, will it be destroyed during the End Phase?
- A: If a Dinosaur-Type monster Special Summoned from the Deck by the effect of "Survival Line" is changed to face-down Defense Position, the part of the effect that destroys it during the End Phase is no longer applied. (In this scenario, "Miscellaneousaurus" is not destroyed by "Survival Line".)[3]
- Q: When the effect of "Miscellaneousaurus" is activated by sending it from the hand to the Graveyard, how long does the effect apply?
- A: The effect of "Miscellaneousaurus" activated from the hand makes all Dinosaur-Type monsters on your field unaffected by your opponent’s activated effects only during that Main Phase. For example, if you activate this effect during Main Phase 1, it is only applied during Main Phase 1. (It will not apply during Main Phase 2.)[4]
- Q: When I activate the second effect of "Miscellaneousaurus" by banishing Dinosaur-Type monsters from my Graveyard, can I banish only "Miscellaneousaurus" itself?
- A: If you have a Level 1 Dinosaur-Type monster in your Deck, you can activate the effect of a "Miscellaneousaurus" in your Graveyard by banishing only itself.[5]
- Q: I activated "DNA Surgery" by declaring Dinosaur-Type. In this situation, if I activate the effect of "Miscellaneousaurus" that makes Dinosaur-Type monsters on my field unaffected by my opponent’s activated effects, will that effect apply to monsters treated as Dinosaur-Type due to the effect of DNA Surgery?
- A: The effect of "Miscellaneousaurus" that makes Dinosaur-Type monsters on your field unaffected by your opponent’s activated effects is applied to all Dinosaur-Type monsters on your field. In this scenario, this effect will be applied to monsters that are not originally Dinosaur-Type but are treated as Dinosaur-Type due to the effect of "DNA Surgery".[6]
